I love your backstory! When I was eight, I decided I wanted to be an author and write books someday. There were some middle years when I didn't think it would happen, but I'm part way through writing a novel that I plan on sending to agents. I love how God builds those little seeds in us as kids, and He cares about what is close to our hearts. My oldest is almost nine and has her own interests, and I just can wait to see how those turn into what she does in the future.

I am so excited for you to be able to pursue creativity like this! You being able to express what’s in your head has encouraged me MANY times. I have always had that same desire, just the way you described. I dabbled multiple times in a TH-cam channel with various topics or ideas, and had a blog for a hot second at like 16, but I have fiiiiiinally realized that I need to do a ton of healing before attempting to express myself online anymore on that level!! And I’m content, finally, to not NEED people to hear my thoughts and opinions and processing. I love your backstory! When I was eight, I decided I wanted to be an author and write books someday. There were some middle years when I didn't think it would happen, but I'm part way through writing a novel that I plan on sending to agents. I love how God builds those little seeds in us as kids, and He cares about what is close to our hearts. My oldest is almost nine and has her own interests, and I just can wait to see how those turn into what she does in the future.

I have always had that same desire, just the way you described. I dabbled multiple times in a TH-cam channel with various topics or ideas, and had a blog for a hot second at like 16, but I have fiiiiiinally realized that I need to do a ton of healing before attempting to express myself online anymore on that level!! And I’m content, finally, to not NEED people to hear my thoughts and opinions and processing.
A lot of my processing is quite immature still and needs to be private. 😂

I used to make my own magazines & newsletters, too! The Seasonal ones I created were my favorite! The cutting, gluing & creating was one of my favorite parts of that age. I also utilized American Girl magazines, Bible magazines, Highlight Kids, etc. Your memory resonated strongly with my own! I also drew Hibiscus flowers on everything. Quick tip for peeling onions to prevent tears. Peal off the first layer. You’re welcome. 😊 if this feels wasteful I find that rinsing the onion once I’ve peeled the brown skin off and removing the thin layer helps as well.
