I was fascinated seeing this video. I have not heard of cocoa balls before. But I make something similar using cocoa powder. Not sure if that is the same? I have not tried it with bay leaf. I will do that next time. Thanks for sharing. Being Celiac, I love your gf recipes! I have been sharing your channel. Good instructions, not too fast, good editing.
You are most welcome! The cocoa balls are made by grinding the cocoa into a paste then adding spices to it and then rolling it into a ball. So yes what you are doing with the powder is similar. I am happy you are enjoying the GF recipes and that you are sharing it with your friends. I am so grateful for that because that helps my channel to grow so a hearty thank you! I hope they are sharing it with their friends as well.😊 Thanks for the compliment it was kind of you. See you in my next video!
I haven't gotten cocoa balls in years. We used to get them when someone came back from St. Vincent. I'm in Barbados. But we get the logs that you can grater from St. Lucia. I recently got a couple logs from St. Vincent that similar to the balls.
great upload, my aunt came up with some from Grenada (coco Balls) i did not no how to get started. Thanks to your upload am making coco tea , am gonna enjoy the winter months thanks to this video
Just bought some of these in DR. What is in the bottom of the cup that you pour the cocoa tea into? Looks very dark. Also, can you eat the balls without making them into cocoa tea?
I started pouring the cocoa tea into the cup so that is what you are seeing at the bottom. I would not recommend eating it just like that it is best you buy chocolate to eat. Thanks for watching and enjoy drinking your cocoa tea!
In many cacao-producing countries the cacao beans are locally used for making "cocoa tea". The fermented beans are ground to a fine paste, mixed with spices, and rolled into balls which are dried. You use these balls as seen in my video.
