Hey, Welcome to the OFD Watch Channel. My name is Aron Dunlap, and I’m nuts about watches. What’s OFD you ask? Well, one of my best friends coined this term. It stands for “Only F@#*ing Dunlap” (sorry kids!!) due to some of the ridiculous things I can come up with, including watch collecting.
I have loved watches for years, but in the last few years really got into the collecting and studying aspect. I mainly buy Seiko and Orient watches, but I love everything out there!! (Omega, Oris, Rolex, Squale, Timex, Casio, Steinhart….and on and on and on)

I received the black/gold and grey dial versions a few days ago, decent piece, needs tapering bracelet and like mentioned below, bezel needs 5, 10 and 15 on the bezel insert . And like the reviewer said, be gentle when removing the lug screws, one of my examples had too much loctite applied and no matter how gentle I was, the stainless screw popped the threads in two of my links, I have 2 replacements coming, I've been doing this for 25+ years and use good tools, the problem is, stainless is harder than titanium and when you press on the screw bar to turn it without damaging the screw head, the screw bars damage the threads due to the pressure applied. Also, plan on using a needle to clean out the threads on the screwbar when re-installing, if not, the loctite will bind in the threads and will lead to failure. Oh, and the biggie, don't even think about trying different straps on this watch, I tried Barton silicone and their canvas which are both really thin at the spring bar, forget it, spring bar location is way too close to the case for any strap to fit in there, so this one is bracelet only. I tried removing 4 links for my 6.75" wrist and it was too tight so I ended up removing 3 links, maybe his example had more links, both of mine had the same number of links.
Wow, you bought 2? I'm thinking of the grey dial version, do you like it? Also, I read elsewhere they are including curved springbars now so you can put on other straps. Good tip Re the screws will remember if/when I get one! 👍

Wow, a cool one from Phoibos! 👏 Usually their divers that look similar to this one are a bit too big for me. But this one, at 42 and all titanium is just the perfect fit. 💪

If they only chose a different font for the Bezel insert. I dont know. it almost touches the borders. They could have referenced SINN. Their U50 U1 have nice toolwatch bezel inserts that would also fit this phoibos in terms of style

That's a really cool watch but the bracelet with no taper would drive me crazy. Seems like an odd choice, especially at 22mm.

Someday Dunlap, a Phoibos will be mine, but they are just always too big. This one...?MMmmmmm, maybe. Love the color matched date, the non-homage appeal. Not 100% on the Monopoly house hour hand though.
