Pentatonix had 2 major events with the group: The five had Avi, a Profundo base, who was the best. 6 years in he quits, doesn't want to miss family for concert tours. Matt stepped up, and brought a great new sound. He can pull off all the old songs too!! 6 years later Kristy had a baby. :) She is still with the group! 🤗
There's only been one change in the group, bassist Avi Kaplan (white dude with a beard) left PTX in the fall of 2017 and was replace with Matt Sallee few months later. Scott, Kirsty, Mitch, and Kevin are the originals since 2011. In May of next year, PTX will celebrate 14 years.
As lots of people have said, there has only been 1 member change. Keep in mind that they have been around for 13 years. Some of them were in their late teens in the early videos and are now in their 30s. They have changed their looks a lot.
to mirror Jim, Avi (bottom left) left the group. I saw a story online that the hussle-bussle of touring got yo him, and Matt Salle replaced him. Some people, if they are new to Pentatonix, often think there are more changes beccause Kirstie and Mitch are often refered to as chameleons. Seems those two never look the same in two videos. I've seem mitch with a mustache, with a mullet, bald and Kirstie as a brunette, blonde, redhead and with shorter (looking) curls.
They have a whole evolution of Beyoncé video, if you want to watch it I would recommend watching the live version when they were in the offices of Diane Sawyer of 60 Minutes
The bearded bass, Avi Kaplan, did leave in 2017, for a number of reasons, but he has, since 2019, built up an impressive catalog of about 90% original songs that move across genres. He's toured the US, Canada and Europe a few times with his small touring band, garnering a dedicated fan base, some of whom followed him from PTX. To give you an idea of what Avi has done on his own, this is his latest release from a couple of months ago - "Move Our Souls". It's a different sound for him, but he loves spreading his musical wings. th-cam.com/video/_wF6xP1Z0YQ/w-d-xo.html
My favorite video is PopSpring 2016

Oh I can’t wait for an actual Mitch slap. This will be fun!
I love the ‘Evolution of …’. & Medleys … really fun. Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Rihanna, Gaga. Appreciate your comments and pov!🎶

This Evolution of Music video came out in 2013...that's why 2010's was the farthest they could go.
Thanks for watching ❤️
