Thank you for explaining what went wrong with the first lip balm holder. I want to make some for Christmas presents and that helps me to know to put it in the side.
Hi Izzy! Very envious of your new camera and loved watching you cut out. Great job on the lip balm holders ❤. Can't wait to see your Bestie bag, they certainly are popular! I'm sure Katinka will have a natural remedy for coughs you could try, she makes some amazing things! Thanks for keeping up with Vlogmas despite suffering through it! 🤧🤗
Thank you Carole! The camera is really cool. I’m such a geek where it comes to tech and new gadgets. The Bestie Bag might have to wait because I just realized I don’t have any appropriate interfacing which is really annoying. And I think this denim is too lightweight to not interface it. I love doing vlogmas, but to be honest, I always think they are going to be super boring and I’m amazed that so many of you are still watching 😂 xx 💞
Nice video! I’m done with sewing up Christmas gifts for the year, potholders in Christmas fat quarter prints. I happily started sewing a couple festive garments for myself last night. One is a Love Notions Laundry Day Dress out of Minerva Midsummer Madness print stretch velvet. This is my first with stretch velvet but I’ve made quite a few Laundry Day dresses. I was going for the cowl neckline but couldn’t figure it out. Ok, I’ll just put the regular neckline in, I thought. I biffed catching all the layers of the neckline while I serged to attach it to the dress and the neckline was pulling away from the dress. I tried a second time but it looked awful. I think I’ll try again tonight but this time, after I pick to remove the offending neckline, I’ll skip attaching any type of neck piece and just turn it under and topstitch. I’m not sure what else I can try. The dress looks beautiful in the stretch velvet and I wanted to wear it for Christmas church service and our family dinner. Hopefully it can be saved.
Thank you so much Suzette! Which size are you making? I’m thinking of doing the medium size for my sister-in-law but hoping it’s not too big because she’s super tiny.
@ I am making the medium size for my nephew’s girlfriend. She is also tiny. She likes to walk to work so I thought she may like it. I’ve made her several bags over the years. She is the only one I see that actually uses the bags I make 😀.
I want to make some cross body bags somewhere down the road. Busy now with apparel sewing and am taking couple days off to do some much needed dusting. What is a bestie bag.
The Bestie Bag is a pattern by Blackbird Fabrics which the whole sewing community has been making it seems. It’s a really cool crossbody bag and is supposed to be very easy to make.
Love the time lapse parts. It’s so nice to have a large cutting table.
It really is!! I am extremely lucky to have that table in my sewing room. I cut on our dining room table for years.
Loved watching you cut out your jacket. I like the way you use rulers as weights. Chapstick holders are great!!😅
I love using rulers because they cover more surface and are super handy to make sure I’m on grain. 😊
Love the vlogmas congrats on finishing the lip balm holders 😊😊😊
Thanks, I'm glad they're done! 😊

You're welcome! I'm so glad it helped.

Oh I’m so sorry that neckline is giving you troubles. I think your idea of just turning it over will be just fine. Must look amazing in a velvet!!
I’m really enjoying your Vlogmas videos!! I’m glad you’re feeling better. I just cut the Bestie Bag and hoping to get it made tonight!
