- I didn't plan on having this figure in hand this early, what with the con exclusive not being scheduled until later, but then this retail version of the Marvel Legends Mojo popped up on Amazon and I just had to grab it. My X-Men shelf demanded it!

Considering how cheap Modok ended up getting, I imagine this will go on sale. I have an Amazon price alert set for $30, that's about where I'm at for this.

So happy this is coming in a single release! I love my Toy Biz one but this is a genuinely stellar successor. The paint being minimal means he’ll fit in well with the cell shaded x-men animated figures too!
Picked up Mojo yesterday. Impressive figure, my wife and kids were all like: *"What the heck is that thing!?!"* Lol!

Awesome review. Yeah, the box set definitely has more paint detail. I didn't realize that at first.
They give Mojo that many fully articulated legs, but they give Iron Spider 3 that don't move that well. Go figure.

I'm glad this got a regular release, I don't mind doing a bit of customizing, but I feel bad for the people who pre-ordered the mojo world 3-pack exclusive

I'm ultimately going with the con Mojoworld set, 'cause I don't feel like adding the paint to Mojo myself, so I'm willing to pay more for better paint on Mojo. The only Dazzler I have is the Warlock wave Disco Dazzler, I definitely want Outback Dazzler but I never grabbed the retro-carded one, and this one has pinless double joints. I also just like how that set's Longshot looks better, with the white star, more natural-looking leather color for the belts, and no effect painted on the face. I have the Warlock wave Shatterstar, and then I'll just need that new retro-carded Spiral.
Sounds like a plan! Options are good, let's everyone get what they want.

I'm not a big fan of Mojoworld stories, but I'm glad this exists, especially for those who couldn't get the 3-pack since it was for Hasbro Pulse.
I'm okay with the colour difference. He doesn't look as booger-y gross, but his skin looks more dead and sickly. So a different kind of gross.
Wish the tail had some articulation though, since there's not much you can do with this guy and that would've helped a bit with playability. I'd have preferred that to the legs having three joints each, just because it's not like you'll really be needing all those joints in his legs given he's gonna be walking or sitting with them (maybe stabbing people?). At least he can clae at people or point Spiral at people... now THERE'S a figure I'm looking forward to :)

I'm torn because I like the box set Mojo better, but the retro card Longshot better. I also don't care about Dazzler either way lol. The packaging for the box set is fantastic though.
Awesome review..really appreciate the extreme hard work that goes into editing the kind of videos you make.. however that's what makes them so engaging and fun to watch..
WTB paint. For $41.99, this isn't bad. For the $55.99 price everyone else is charging, it really needs the wires painted and some liver spots.
In the same boat as you, BUT lil mustard yellow, muddy brown, thin brushes and red n blue paints. Can definitely have fun with it. Wire covers at a hardware store can fix those short tubes for his shoulders. Silver lining, silver lining

Thanks Robo! Mojo looks so cool. That’s pretty much how I exactly how I picture him. With all that detail of wires and mechanical details so many opportunities to customize.
It's April 2024 & i just picked up the MojoWorld Box Set on Amazon for $59.. that's pretty much the SAME price that this Deluxe version was going for..

My friend tried to convince me to get the single Mojo and the single Longshot and then get the older Dazzler. But...um....I also dig that new Dazzler. In fact, someone reviewed it already and her posterior is...well....callipygous. Now that you've reviewed the single and pointed out the differences...I am glad I stuck with the pre-ordered set. Now I just have to survive an entire year to receive it.

Picked one up at Target last night and I'm so happy with him! I like the more sickly pallid yellow of this release. The more uncomfortable I feel looking at a Mojo the better. The only thing that makes me sad is the dropped paint apps for the head wires but for $42 I'm a very happy X-Men fan!
This is pretty cool, I get where you're coming from with your priorities.
I thought I was sure to get the box set one but......... Damn I really want to see comparison between these 2 next to each other now because the box set one looks more outstanding because of bright yellowish green with some dirt on his belly and, claws or blue and red wires. And I think the legs and tail are more silver and really bright.
When this one doesn't have so much details but this colour look really accurate and this shading it is cool. And legs and tail are I think more darker and it's cheaper and still not bad. Soooo now I'm torned XD
I ordered the first set with Longshot and Dazzler, but I think the paler skin color on this single release just might be a better look.

That's exactly the vibe I get too. 80s, while the exclusive is 90s with the deeper colors.

the old 90s toybiz mojo had the same thing. The spider legs would buckle under the figures weight and fall. Im glad this one has clear risers.

I think the con exclusive paint job is more in line with the cel shaded vhs “animated” style line. Even though it doesn’t have the same style shading, the bright yellow and obvious spots is very much like the cartoon. The deluxe that you reviewed is more realistic, not necessarily live action realistic but “if the comic book came to life” kind of realistic. I prefer yours to the bright coloring of the exclusive.
MOJO RISING !!!
Hasbro has rebuilt some good will with me for this release. One of my biggest complaints was limiting Mojo and especially Longshot to a super expensive and excessive boxset. But now with this single release and the Longshot retro card, the company at least has some favor in my eyes again. Good job Hasbro, that PulseCon livestream was amazing and proved to me that when you finally step up to the plate, you’re there to play some freaking baseball.
target had the wrong listed price for about a week or so at $42(?)... now has been correct to $55(?). those who purchased last week lucked out.

@@suhtangwong if you bought it at target don’t open it for 80-90 days. the return period. if it goes on sale return and repurchase. it’s allowed. but yes a week ago it was listed for 42.
Hey Robo! I'm sure a lot of folks are happy that they released Mojo individually and in time to cancel the order on that three pack, if they want to. It looked like maybe there was a slight gap at the base of where the seat back connected to the spider legs, or it just wasn't pushed in all the way. Is that a flaw, or does it actually connect flush?
Not Robo but the chair back does sit flush. The stomach is hard to put on at times, and doesn’t sit flush all the time.
Come to think of it, one could probably use the lower body to make a pretty neat spider legs Maul. Hmm...
I immediately canceled the 3 pack once I heard about this one. I’m a little bummed I’m not getting Long Shot now but I’m pretty sure both him and Spiral will go on clearance at some point and I’ll snag them later. A little bummed about the lack of paint apps on this one, but it’s a necessary budgetary sacrifice. Hasbro is making us all feel that these days.
Longshot is in the Retro card? Hasbro revealdd it at Pulse Con.
I really doubt spiral will go on sale, even her old figure still going up to 130+ luckily its dropping cuz the scalpers see this new opportunity.
I would like to see a review of the hasbro plus mojo pack. Just to see what robo could do like a comparison on the two for a skit, or something. Would love to see robo’s customization on mojo when it or if it happens.

this version of Mojo evokes that classic Miniseries (a personal favorite) more than the 3 pack version & I'm saving money by grabbing the figures piecemeal (esp bc I never read Exiles & already have a Dazzler). Mojo is going right next to the TV, where he belongs.
Assembly required, good thing they stepped up the QC . Imagine getting a missing piece , can’t just exchange in store. Like the old SW vehicles, notorious of missing pieces, back then you can just get a replacement at TRU .

Oh yeah, for a character like Mojo, who kinda jumps around in size in the comics, much better to be slightly large rather than small.
Ya missed some articulation, man! The head actually moves decently and can look mainly up, left, and right, the base of the tail rotates where it connects to the chair, and the legs can actually support the weight of the figure depending on how you have them situated! Pretty neat, though I personally don’t care about getting the figure 😂
I got this guy from Amazon, I was happy to see while there aren't as many paint apps compared to the box set version, what he does have is pretty nice. I also think it's nice they gave us a BaF in a single box...that we still had to put together. How far out do you think we'll get a Mojo II?
Oh, I think we're a long ways away from Mojo II, that's digging a little deeper. But, stranger things have happened.
Hey Robo, got mine from Hasbro today. The top of my box was also slashed like yours. I wonder if it's across the board to show a difference between the individual release versus the 3 pack.
Where is everyone finding these for $42??? Just lucked out and found it at one of my targets, but for a whopping $60 and some change! Hope it's worth 3 figures (price wise).
I'm still gonna stay with my mojo box set order but only if they stick to the December date or as close to it as possible like late November. Their is no way my bank account is ready for that if they decide to release It some time in October. I'm mainly sticking with it because I like that mojo paint details & because I kinda of want that dazzler. I could be wrong but she may be the first X-Men legends female on the double elbows pinless joints and I'm curious to know how that stacks up to the retro dazzler. I'll probably get the retro card longshot too because i'm a sucker for the toy biz era variants.
I saw this yesterday, balked at the $42, but this actually looks worth it, even as the standard ML price is now $25.
Btw, I’ve seen most of Controller wave at Target, save M.Hydra.
Walmart just put out BP2. The comic figures (with legs) are double packed.

I was never aware of Mojo growing up, but having familiarized myself in the years since I do like the design and idea of him, and for me this version would be the one I'd get, I like the paler colour and I have no interest in the Longshot and Dazzler figures. That said, my X-villain display is pretty compact as is on my shelf, so I would get him if I had the space which I currently don't.

Yeah I'm torn too. I thought I would cancel my Pulse preorder since the price of the cardback Longshot and Mojo is so much less than the asking price of the 3 (4?) pack but when are we going to get an outback specific Dazzler again?

Ugh, you have me debating what I want. I think I prefer the minimal paint and pale skin tone to the jaundiced look for Mojo, but Dazzler and Longshot look better in the set. I could get the Retro Cards and this single and save about $30. Damn it, Robo!

I've been seeing comparisons with that, I'm not familiar. I look at the exclusive with the deeper yellow more of a 90s version, this as 80s.

The Iron Spider gave me ptsd and I have this weird idea that Mojo's legs are as gummy as the Waldoes, lol.
Fairly solid, but there's also no actual weight on them, they just gotta hang there.

Diamond Select never made a Mojo. The other one was a ToyBiz Marvel Legends BAF. ToyBiz was all about more detailing and paint apps. So in some cases, the figures were more detailed (realistic movie-like?) compared to the comics.

I didn't notice how different the retro Longshot is to the Exclusive. The retro doesn't look as good, this limbs look like boxy pieces of plastic connected at joints. That's disappointing but I can't really afford the exclusive. Between the window and the ever decreasing quality for the price the universe is telling me that it's time to back off collecting broadly but from Hasbro in particular.
Well, the exclusive Longshot is also a render, it's going to be that "perfect" vision. I guarantee the final product looks just like the retro, just without the eye light paint and the different chest star.
Looks like it was designed to be a build-a-figure.
The single release is rubbish compared to the box set . The box set one has far better paint apps but in a world of high prices and high bills I understand the general release is a good for collectors

It’s probably because a 9x9x9 box would be so annoying on store shelves 😅. I kinda love the BAF vibe tbh though. Makes the higher price tag feel worth it because the unboxing is a whole experience, but maybe that’s just the lego builder in me talking.

So, that tail thing does not articulate or anything? Again, is this a deluxe figure? But it is good looking in the ugly way.. hahaha... And that squishy belly... very interesting.
You can rotate the tale a bit at the base. And the "stinger" end is on a ball joint. ...but yeah, that's about it.
God, I hate the new boxes. It just makes the figure look cheap to me.

Agreed. I don’t even mind the windowless package as I’m a Lego collector too so I’m used to it. But the graphic design on these are lazy. The future of the boxed retro carded figures have much better design choices.
