      Honestly you could move, cheetahs aren't really going to do anything other then either ignore that you moved or run away because you are bigger then them. These cheetahs are really used to humans and enjoy the safety that tour vehicles give them.

    You are right. Cheetahs rarely attack people unless it has rabies. Cheetahs are more easily domesticated than other big cats. Most experts say that a domestic pitbull can be more aggressive than a Cheetah. Now if a lion had hopped on the jeep...well it may not have had such a happy ending.

    Luckily for them, cheetahs are the featherweights of the big cat world and the scaredy cats of the savannah. They've got no interest in fighting a full-sized human, mostly because they're not stupid enough to attack anything twice their weight, much less 4 of them in the same place. In savannah terms, that would be suicidal. You only attack what you can easily kill and haul away.
    As has been said, they HAVE learned to use jeeps as useful scouting positions, though.

    • @Turkanaboy4life

      +Alex Tocqueville You kidding! most big cats and wildlife in general rarely bother humans unless you bother them. If you respect their space, their respect yours. If they invade yours...chill out - humans are not on their menu. Full-sized human wont last 2 mins with any cat other than a domestic one...they go for the jugular. I don't get my facts from watching documentaries but having lived all my life in African jungles. Try petting cheetah cubs and you will discover where the boundaries are.

    • @alanfoster6589
      @alanfoster6589 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Always thought the Turkana preferred wide open spaces to jungles. But you're right. Cheetahs will let you know when to stop. For example, I found out first hand they don't like being scratched between their front legs...not a cub.

      Nah, Cheetahs are actually really chill.
      For one, they are hands down the weakest of all the big cats to the point that humans could probably take them in a fight; they lack the sharp claws or powerful bite and weight class of other big cats, they're literally only good at running I kid you not.
      But they also have calm temperaments and don't see humans as either prey nor natural predators. There has been 2 recorded incidents, total, of people dying to them and those were likely cases of either rabies or some other exceptional circumstance.

      Ideally they aren't. Unless threatened, with cubs or with hunger pans they tend to chill. I had a friend doing research and at their camp, the cheetahs just used to saunter around like domestic cats.

    Fortunately, the cheetah is the only wild cat that is friendly and doesn't have the commanding killer instincts the others have. Now had this been a lion that jumped up there .... totally different story. The tour bus woulda became a slaughter house. 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

    • @Mortablunt
      @Mortablunt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Not quite, as needing a territory and live prey is a problem, but they're human safe enough to be tamed. Honestly, they're safer than dogs. There's no record of a cheetah ever killing a human. If they approach them when they don't want that and don't back off at their warning, they'll attack you, but they realize we are far tougher and will kill them in a fight. They're like giant kitties. Compare this to domestic dogs, who kill several thousand people a year.

    • @agbrenv
      @agbrenv 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ronald Mugo once tamed it would be safe, and actual wild one? nope, since animal reserves specifically point out that short people and children have a chance to be attacked

    Cheetahs like to be up high so they can look across the savannah for prey and dream about their next meal. They rarely pay attention to the tourists. Pharaohs used to keep them as pets. Usually, you don't have to worry about them attacking you like lions. They have got the most awesome, loud purr. Beautiful cats.
