Soon, only the rich will be able to own property in Florida and the only rentals will be short-term rentals for people flying into Florida and then leaving. Rent is already unaffordable for regular people.

Rent is already unaffordable for regular people. Soon, only the rich will be able to own property in Florida, and the only rentals will be short-term rentals for people flying into Florida and then leaving the hot mess behind when their vacations are over. It won't matter to them how high the electric bills and utility bills are because the costs are baked into their vacation that they will happily pay it off on their credit cards for the next year.
How will the people in the low paying service jobs afford to live in Florida? Soon, Florida will have the problems that California has with no affordable housing for lower paid people. Who will serve the rich and vacationers then?

The insurance is going up, not to mention taxes .Pple on SS are struggling is he worried about them ?? He has done a lot of good in FL but a lot of the poor is left out . Talk is cheap Governor desantis ,the poor are struggling ,sleeping in their cars and food are unbelievable high . Prayers for the poor struggling, an homeless .,while the poor and low medium income is not getting paid enough for this kind of inflation .Nothing is affordable anymore .

So now my husband , 17 month old and dogs are living in our car because the help is for everyone except the people who were doing wtf we were supposed to be doing but couldn’t afford $6000 to move a week after a cat 4 (5) hurricane hit…”end homelessness”.

I thought I was living the dream of life in Florida until my homeowner's insurance rate skyrocketed within the last few years. Now, I fear the next increase and spend a lot of time thinking that I may need to flee the state of Florida because everything is going up so much. The electric companies keep jacking up the rates and my even my city increased their rates for water/sewer/trash/etc. I don't know how long I can afford to live here. And, DeSantis spends his time on anti-woke crap and fighting with Disney instead of solving the real issues affecting Floridians.

This is NOT how it's done. He has not solved any problems related to skyrocketing insurance premiums in the state, which are forcing people to sell and move. there are still people suffering from Ian damage and he hasn't done anything to help them. Many of the bills he has passed and actions he's taken have been found to be unconstitutional. He just passed a bill that will undermine public schools, and he's about to implement an abortion bill that the majority of the state does not want. If you like book banning, discrimination, voting suppression, and taking revenge on political enemies, DeSantis is your man. Otherwise he's a sick joke. Who cares what religion he claims to be or what his wife looks like. If you judge your leaders by such shallow things like this instead of what the constitution says or the majority of people actually want, then you are part of the problem.
