The body neutrality thing really works. I tend to compare the way Im behaving towards myself to the way I behave with other people. The things dysphoria says to me is stuff that would never cross my mind when talking to other trans guys. For example, "I dont think his (insert trait here) makes him seem like a girl, so obviously it doesnt make me seem like a girl either". I also tend to tell myself "I am more than how I look, there's no reason to obsess over it"
I’m a trans woman and I almost cried while watching this because I have dysphoria and I can’t do almost any of these things because my family and friends are all super big Christian’s and they would freak if they saw me do anything of the opposite gender😢
mines are too. Its triggering when they say 'oh you're a girl,do this do that.' or always telling ppl i wear boy clothes with an ashamed or disgusted face. For me, i distanced myself from ppl like that, and im working on me, but my family doesn;t support the way i am rn. I've told my mum i have it,told her to research what it is,nothing. So my advice, is to just do what you feel is comfortable, go outside abit, and just write down what you feel,if things get overwhelming. YOU got this
i hope both of you are able to find friends that support you, being trans can be really difficult when the people around you don’t support you, my advice is to try and find a friend or maybe a small online community that supports you if your able to, i wish the best for both of you🏳️⚧️🤍
Thank you so much for these videos Dakota. Ik you're not the "most popular" TH-camr who's trans (yet) but man these are really informative and I appreciate them a lot :)
thank you for the love and support! i have tons of fun making content, and it's because of y'all that i'm on my way to being more popular so that i can help more people who need it.
The body neutrality thing is a great idea. I did that today and it helped so much. I think another good idea is to stop comparing yourself to others. Sometimes I catch myself looking at good looking cis guys on social media or even real life and I instantly feel upset because I don't look like them. Something that I've learned is to tell myself that I'm not like them and that that isn't a bad thing. I can be my own self and still be a handsome guy. I think it's important to not compare oneself to others.
your voice is very nice and i really like it and you give gender envy and i think that’s really cool. also congrats on the top surgery anniversary!!! you’re really pretty in a very masculine way :)
