@@Frankcis_memes You're absolutely right, Paul Rudd is the only person in the history of the world to take an SNL skit and recite/act it out in front of his class. He is truly a singular fellow. You're so clever that you, and others here, have managed to expose my lie, where I took a widely available and accessible story from a famous person's life, crossed out their name and then put my own in their place. Or...or there's a small chance that Paul Rudd isn't the only person to ever be influenced by SNL. Influenced enough to act out one of their bits for Show and Tell. What do yo think is more likely? That you're that clever or that Paul Rudd isn't that singular?
The first time I went to Disneyland when I was a kid, on Main Street there was a man in a white suit, juggling and telling jokes. He was really hilarious and I asked "May I please take your picture?" He gave me a broad grin, and as I lifted my Kodak Instamatic 104 to take the snapshot, he put his arm around the shoulder of another young fan who was laughing. It's the cutest picture. About a decade later, when Steve Martin was starring on SNL, and wore a white suit and talked on I think it was the Tonight Show about working at Disneyland before he became famous, I pulled out the snapshot and sure enough it was him. In 1966 when the picture was taken, he no longer was working at Disneyland, and I don't know if he did his appearance that day for old times' sake just for fun or what, but it was really cool to experience during my first trip to Disneyland and makes me smile every time I remember it. His King Tut, Holiday Wish, and wonderfully beautiful dance with Gilda on SNL are three of my favorite classics. He has done so much outstanding work and contributed so much to classic entertainment.
Before he became famous I saw Steve Martin at my college in the early 70s and I laughed till I cried 🤣😭 I knew he was going to hit the top. He's one of my all-time favorites
Saw Steve at the Great Southeast Music Hall in Atlanta in front of maybe 200 or so people - probably in late 1974. Funny and clever and handled the intimate crowd well. The young people then knew about him from the Smothers Brothers shows and loved him. The question for him as with many others then was whether the rest of the people would appreciate his humor. The “generation gap” was in full force then.
Steve Martin is so next level that my parents and myself and my sisters (ages spanning from 18-55 with all of us) all love him. If anyone doesn’t think he’s funny, they’re just wrong.
Oh god, I watched that when I was 9 or 10 and I think that's the main reason why my former boss described my sense of humor as "cerebral and disturbed."
This is the greatest thing ever I sent this entire thing in a text message what he said to multiple people on Christmas Eve and people hated it or they loved it I don't know but I love Steve Martin
The only thing better than Steve Martin's humor is his banjo playing (no seriously, if you haven't heard his banjo playing, he's a better banjo player than comedian, but he didn't feel he could make a living at it... now we have both 😁)
Geez❗️❗️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s been sooo long since I saw this sketch, I almost forgot about it❣️❣️❣️🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for resurrecting thissketch❗️❤️❤️ ‘70’s and ‘80’s SNL good stuff.
All I need is for the children of the world to join hands, and that's ALL I need. And 30 million a month. 30 million and the children and THAT'S ALL. And complete power. Complete power, the children, the money... And this lamp. AND THAT'S ALL!
I was a mess in '86. My 1st girlfriend had just broken up with me. Even though she completely ruined me, I still love her and hope she's happy. Merry Christmas.
If I had one wish this Christmas, it would be for Steve Martin to tell that guy about to finish college next year and head off to graduate school: "DON'T MARRY HER!!! She will abandon her vows and your marriage and ruin your graduate school career--DO NOT DO IT!!" Then the universal power, revenge, money, kids singing, and whatever else. Thank you.

We talk about how Paul Rudd doesn't age... but do we all see how interesting and crazy the aging of Steve Martin is !?!? It's nuts and he is still hot stuff!
He’s got money to get all the facial crap done as well. It’s all Hollywood magic beauty. Actors who don’t have all of that stuff done stay in hiding. Who gaf what people look like? It’s their personality that counts.
If you break it up in parts, you can post this stuff on Facebook in a span of a few days and people will think you're serious. People will love the first part and be really confused after that.
"The first would be the crap about the kids..."
I lost it.
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
This sketch has always been a mainstay of the yearly Christmas sketch compilation, and I never get tired of it.
This and A Gumby Christmas Special
And SNL Grimaldi crying baby jesus.
Classic. In school, I memorized this entire routine and performed it for show and tell. Got into a bit of trouble for it. Worth it.
No you didn't
@@Pudknuckle Oh, you were there!
Ok Paul Rudd

Steve Martin is a national treasure...been making me laugh since the 70's.
Incorrect grammar! It’s the ‘70s!

Hey just so you know, using those three dots in a sentence is now taken as a negative connotation in today’s texting

It'd be awesome to see that photo, did he have grey hair back then?
I have listened to his memoir, “Born Standing Up” and it recounts his experience at Disneyland. Utterly Fascinating! Love Steve!!!
Wow that’s a great story and memory
Love that he worked 'revenge against my enemies' into his lovely Christmas wish. A treasure I enjoy every year.
One of the greatest SNL bits ever. My wife and I constantly use "the crap about the kids" in daily conversation.
Steve is just aging like fine wine. I adore this man, his brand of comedy and his repertoire. If I had one wish...

Cool! Did he have his banjo in the act that night?
You lucky duck!! I watched him him on the late night shows and my dad took us to every movie of his. He’s my all time favorite 😂❤.

How iconic. This clip should have millions of views, it's an all time classic.
I mean, logistically the Power wish would let him accomplish the other 4 easily.
This reminds me so much of the scene from The Jerk when he's explaining how long each day feels. Steve Martin is the best.
Love these vintage clips. Steve has always been a comic gem.😍🎄

Along with SNL's "Lost Ending" of It's a Wonderful Life, this is one of their best holiday sketches.
