This is the most helpful video I have come across so far for veneering a large surface. Great explanation. I accidentally purchased paperbacked veneer instead of the iron on and from this video I now understand what to do instead of returning the material. Thank you from someone new to veneering.

Ignore the people saying you talk to much. They obviously dont knownthe meaning of 101. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for doing a larger piece; that's been hard to find on TH-cam. I'm about to try veneering a table with leaves, and I'd love to see a video with ideas on how to do that well.

Always appreciate what others are doing as there isn't just one correct way to do something. As a 40 plus year professional woodworker I would like to comment on this video. Many steps in this process were left out. Nonetheless, starting at the point where you attach the edge banding to the sides, there was no explanation for cutting the edge banding oversize, applying the glue to it and then after it drys rolling it in reverse so it doesn't stick to itself. This gives the installer control in rolling it out and attaching to the sides. And yes, always put the edge banding on first.
My second major point is to never start at the end in attaching the veneer panel to the substraight. Use more stickers that you showed, and after aligning the panel, begin in the middle and work towards both ends therefore minimize the potential for trapped air bubbles. I personally use thinner stickers, typically under 1/2" thick and often 1/4" scrap, but that is minor.
    Thanks for the video.

Great video. Really enjoy the quality of your videos. Can't imagine it's easy, but keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for the kind words! I’m self conscious about my video quality. It’s hard to compete with the bigger productions. I’m concentrating on getting info out.

I’m planning to use it on a dinner table. Can I stain after and apply a lacquer as water resistant?

Hello and thanks for the video. Can I run veneer onto a curved table top just as easily? Thanks.

Where is the best place to buy veneer sheets?

Could I use a heat gun instead of an iron?

is it possible to "waterfall" the endgrain edge, or is that too difficult to line up?

Yes, it is possible and that is probably how I would of done it......but in the truest sense of "waterfall", there would of been a seam, but it would of been unnoticed.

    Is that paper backed?

I wish we could see the actual work....
We pretty much listened, than the next scene... veneer edge band is already applied..
    Anyway, thanks anyway...

Too much talking, not enough actual working.

Bro, you talk too much. The top view camera angle when you were applying the edge banding was pointless. Not nearly enough pressure over the veneer. The j-roller you used is too small for such a large surface. Your "workbench" was super unstable. Learn it before you teach it.

He has alot of good info. If you know so much why are you watching this video? If you dont know much why reject somones option or knowledge on a subject your looking for more education on?
