  • We are less than a month from Election Day.
That means our polling colleagues are busy. And that they are well positioned to help answer some of the biggest questions we have at this stage in the race.
Like: Who has the advantage between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump?
What’s the most important battleground state?
And what are the chances we actually know the final result on election night?
On today’s show, we do our best to get answers - and to get ready for these next few weeks.
    Featured on today’s episode:
Nate Cohn (www.nytimes.co...) , the chief political analyst for The New York Times.

How is Jan 6 not disqualifying to more people? I do not understand how someone who tries to overturn an election does not lose most of their supporters!! Do we no longer stand for democracy?
The fact that this is even remotely close is baffling. I feel like people have lost their minds and their morals.

Jan 6th is not disqualifying for the same reason that not denouncing the KKK and saying that Putin was a good leader even though he had journalists killed was not disqualifying back in 2015…Republicans don’t want it to be disqualifying. For Republicans, the only disqualifying trait for a candidate is their inability to win. Trump turned that on its head by questioning the very legitimacy of winning and losing so now no matter what the results of the election are, they have a “winning” candidate.

Very disappointed to hear Nate repeat Republican lies as fact. Specifically, that “grocery prices are up 50%” and “crime in cities is way out of control”. Neither of those things are even close to true. Do better.

The latest question from this week's fun political quiz at the New York Times:
What could possibly explain the polling data now showing Trump as leading in Michigan, a swing state with more than 80,000 Lebanese-Americans, in addition to its Palestinian-American residents? Please send your answers (by carrier pigeon only please) to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Whilst it's a tactical success. It seems to me a strategic loss. My guess is that Trump gave Bibi a greenlight to escalate. Much like Nixon did in 68. And just to give a little context, I'm Irish where society & the state are appalled at Israel's behaviour. We habe have been for generations. Punishing Democrats whilst justified appears self-defeating for the cause of Palestine. Our state & society will continue to advocate for justice for Palestine! Israel's smearing us as antisemitic are of course hollow. Furthermore, it is clear that American society is moving forward to hold Israel to account. The infection is close.
