I had no idea smoke blocked turrets whatsoever! Surprised the tutorial video doesn’t mention this, smoke canisters just got a whole lot more useful

Another strat I've been trying recently is fighting with my turret form opposite sides of a room. Especially helpful when facing mesh shield heavies and helps split attention and cover all entrances.
7:15 just wanna say that placing on some ceilings that are instant breakable renders the turret useless. Also it took me a little while to know to right click to spin the turret to make placements better

you should also consider knocking over the cashout station so people cant hide behind it and steal without the turret seeing them

just to add on to the "offensive" turret playstyle, the turret can be placed on props, canisters and other items that can be picked up and moved. This lets you get around the activation time, at the cost of carrying around a prop, and needing time to stop, and put it down steadily so it doesn't topple over and leave your turret inside the ground.
4:12 is thr single greatest joke I have ever seen from anything associated with the finals
I love the fact that i know all about sentries cuz i played a lot of tf2 and it gave me so much lessons about securing or attacking with sentries, and I can use those lessons in the other games

Great video! I learned a lot. Looking forward to version 2 / offense addendum that goes over placing it on Carriables. I've done some real goofy things with the already-4sec-activated mobile turret, and it gets wild once you start carrying them on Goo canisters and realize the turret stays deployed on the goo after the barrel pops, whether that's because you threw it to deploy it at range or because the goo barrel blocked an RPG etc. Massive fan of being able to run around with & rapidly reposition the turret, my favorite thing so far is tossing it out a door / window to let it get the last shot or two on someone who thought they made it out 😂
Not to mention how it lets you start the new turret cooldown WAY earlier than usual, (spawn, set turret on goo can on your way to the point, have another one ready by the time you get there). You can mess with this for free!
I don’t even play this game but you got my sub and watch time for the animated character alone. That along with all the graphics made for the video is so high quality and I’m glad to see this vid popping off. Wish you nothing but success

As an avid Riot Shield main, I have considered starting to play with turrets, so this comes in handy. Curious to see what you’ll say about Heal Beam and Dematerializer, I use both on the regular so I wonder if there’s anything I missed regarding either,

extra tips: turrent + gas is amazing, turret can look down pretty decently from my experience (attacking from above), you can rotate turrent before placing with mouse right click (pc)

Edit: I just remembered! It's not nearly as useful as before, but if you wanna try some fun turret positions. Place it on top of cannisters or flat topped objects and take the turret out for a walk. See how cheaters like a mobile, free 20m aimbot that anyone in the team can carry 😎.

This reminds me of battle engineer in TF2. A great way to play in that game is to actually play just a little farther from your sentry, that way you can get two directions of fire at the same enemy, making it harder for.them to respond.

Hopefully these players watching clean up their act cause as a Sentry-Med Main I have seen this issues arise far too often with others playing med.
I need to try the med class. I rock the mgl and its hard to try anything else. Bouncing grenades around corners is so fun. I just love how the finals allows for so many play styles.

Just clicked on due to running sentry alot with my Riot Shield games. Neat thing….the sentry can act as YOUR own cartable auto aiming akm.
Just slap the Turret onto a Canister and take them up to enemies. You can even assist your turret with aiming against dodge light by tracking them yourself.
Goo Canisters work best but Smoke Canisters can do as well if none are around.
When a fight starts you have two options; both of which are reliant on enemy reactions. They run away or they fight. If they run you can chase and keep within a 20 meter leash. If they fight then drop (not toss) the turret and hope it lands angled just right and charge with riot. The second method is just the same as charging normally but with a chance of turret backup at the least.
Light: hate this strat since turret auto tracking
Medium: honestly a good duel
Heavy: best to not engage since he wants to stand and fight and have many weapons, ie. Flamethrower, sledge, charge’n slam, that beat you in melee

I'd argue that there is a reason to leave it behind once in a while. I was following teammate with vault. And as we rounded a corner i plopped mine down. Result was that it slowed the chasers down and we got to set up other defenses at the cash box.
Oh yeah definitely, sorry if thats how I came off. Abandon your turret when its convenient. I try to fit as much as I can in these but short videos just preform better.

Free tip: use data reshaper with sentry! Goo canister is very good pick for reducing sentry's blind angle and 4 second startup!
Hey I thought this video was awesome but something you missed when talking about the turret is you can use it as cover as you fight so placing it in a fight even if it can't activate can be useful if you use it to soak up damage
Tip: If you pic up turret its health will be restored. Horizontal angle of view is 180, but vertical Isnt and its less (I don't know how much exactly)

I love getting into fights with sacrificial turrets becuase its either I die and the turret finishes them off, my turrets dead but I finish them, or they run off and i can relocate.
Very true, the hardest one for me is running away ambush turret. But if done right, it makes predator lights, shield mediums, and heavies look sooo dumb 😭🤌

Hey great video but you forgot to mention to break the ceiling coverings before placing it on the ceiling. You didn’t do it at 7:11 so I’m not sure if you know this but if the ceiling gets shot the turret will fall through the floor. Even a grenade in the room will make it fall through the floor or on its head. Always jump and elbow the ceiling a couple of times or just shoot it before placing the turret.

Lets gooooooo! You prolly didnt see my feedback comment on your older vid but you fixed a lot of the problems i mentioned naturally! Only tip for this vid is dont blur the turret in the thumbnail. I personally would rather not have to squint at the thumbnail to figure out what the videos about. But thats personal preference.

I’m predominantly a heavy hammer user HOWEVER if I wanna just have an easier game, I always switch to medium with a turret 🤣 I also have another tip to add in! Always shoot the ceiling before placing it above. It minimises the chances of it being knocked off if there’s removable ceiling props :) 💜 don’t want those turrets falling over now do we! ;)

As a Riot Shield user, Turrets are a massive pain in the ass. Having to run up to it and melee it like. 4 times is awful lol.
It's not the best thing to run, but Data Reshaper is very funny for them. Turret? no, Chair.

I normally combo sentry and shield to be able to get that set up time before I go in and run into the enemy especially power shift is more predictable and I normally just play tower defense with it, also I named my sentry Jerald.
