Ah yes, good question. KTM always seemed to put those washers on the chain side bearing housing. (the washers eliminate the freeplay) So the simple reason is that we are following what KTM does. I'm sure it actually makes no difference which side as the housings all measure the same anyway.

That sometimes happens. They only need one set of stop discs. A replacement swingarm bearing kit from KTM will only contain one set of discs. It doesn't actually matter if you have a set either side. Makes no difference.
