This is one of the internet's hottest phish moments. Considering there are thousands of phish videos out there, that is a pretty bold statement, but I stand by it.
@@samh729 well kind sir if it's adrenaline you're yearning for, I'd suggest Chalk Dust Torture, Run like an Antelope, Saw it Again, and Tweezer Reprise.
Remember this like it was yesterday. Weird how time really flies. I miss the old days. No responsibilities, make some money, go to shows, get laid, have fun. Man, it went by all too fast.
I SEARCHED and SEARCHED for this DWD for so long before FINALLY finding it by recognizing the green lights at MSG! What an intensely tight, spill your beer, smile with your teeth, shed those tears, crank it up until your family comes home, magically talented and utterly, shockingly and PERFECT little version this is. NEED I SAY MORE, TREY? NEED I????? WHERE ARE THE LIKES, MAN!!!!!
I fucking love it too, but isn't this Hersheypark. Well either msg or Hershey it doesn't matter, what does matter is that they blow the fucking roof off the place
Sounds complex but in reality this is a simple and right to the point jam...although I didn't see phish til they got back together in 09 (Toyota Park was the first) anyone who has dug around into phish history knows 95 was such a powerful year. Big-Band style with crazy rhythm grooves. Awesome show, great touring year, and it was only the beginning of what we are now. As a newer phan, videos like this make me realize what an incredible history this band has, I'm glad to be apart of its present
This is hand down the best DWD ever! I wish I was alive to be there.. I just saw my first show in hershey not too long ago. And it blew me away. And I just went to a trey show in Boston. Trey is one of the most humble, kind, and talented people I have ever met.
I agree with everything you just stated. that's cool that you enjoyed recent shows. I haven't seen them since 2012, just got old, me that is, not the music. my first show was 94, and I can tell you phish in the 90's was freaking insane. They seemed to take flight about 70 percent of the shows I personally caught. still a great band even though past their prime. peace.
I remember when I first received a tape of this show about two weeks after it occurred in 1995 and thinking to myself that this Disease was extremely beautiful. It still stands as one of the best! Perhaps the best of the short DWDs...
Thats like the man that keeps talking and he doesnt shut up, but he says tge most beautiful things and youre like all right he gonna slow down now but he just keeps cookin ya kno
I was there! Great show.. I still remember Mike in full green jumpsuit bouncing on a trampoline during bouncing around the room... And the Chess board!
so glad I've seen Phish in 1.0,2.0 and 3.0...It's been a great experience seeing their song writing progression, subtle style changes, some drastic style changes and overall "evolution"...what a great band
I have heard them play this song since the spring '94 tour when it was new. They started raging it right away, but this one from Hershey is my favorite - never again equalled in ferocity. Plenty of great ones since, but I prefer the jam with the chord progression like this instead of the single-chord modal jam.
WAITING FOR THE TIME WHEN I CAN FINALLY SAY.....Absolute banger DwD. Have revisited this one many times. If you have one to top it please share. peace to any Phishphan still on this one in 2024.... see you soon :)
My first show too! I was a jr. in high school. It was incredible! My last show was Feb. '03 at the Spectrum. Saw 53 shows in all. Like you, still remember this one the most.
Wow...now this is bringing back memories. Senior year in college and did a 8 show run up and thru finals week. Hershey kicked it off, than Cleveleland State, than Buffalo, and then I missed Albany -- oh how I could kick myself. Anyhow, this DWD could be one of the top 3. Trey was ON! As he and the band were for 94 and all of 95. Thanks for the post. This show was one of my favorites of the 60.
this is amazing. i listen to a lot of john butler and grateful dead. someone told me to listen to this phish song and omfg this is perfect. i wish i could play such perfect guitar like that damn trey
12/1/95 - I was a sophomore in college, and am 99% sure I was hanging out on friends porch, chugging beer, listening to Phish, and talking about how amazing it would be to be at this concert.
I think Trey Anastasio is the best at singing and playing at the same time ever. In terms of the complexity of the riffs he's capable of singing over, it's actually pretty intense.
Hey, I was at 11-30-95 Dayton! I remember it pretty well. I thought the 1st set was sort of standard goodness, but set 2 was fantastic. That Tweez>Makisupa >Antelope holds up. I also recall a phan who seemed to be there with his grandmother who obviously hated the music and was disgusted by all the pot smoking-- and that no one was doing anything about it.
Damn I miss saving all my somey to spend it on summer tour ...love these tight rockin DWD's , doesn't get too spacey Trey just keeps shredding different variations of that solo until it explodes 🎸🥁🎹🎸
This was my first show!!! How fuckin awesome to see on you tube. you can see the back of my head in front of mike. This show forever changed my life(and yes I have seen the dead). Thanx Phish!!!
Good taste solidsnakejt...been playing music for sometime now and these cats are incredible musicians... the Zappa influence really shines on songs such as this one . They are a must see.
Trey's Chuck Norris look here is because of the border crossing out of Vancouver BC. All through the first week of the Fall '95 tour, he was all shaggy hair and beard right up to the 10/6 Vancouver Orpheum show but the tour bus got shaken down by the border cops (listen to 10/7 Makisupa Policeman). The next night in Spokane10/7 he came out clean shaven and hair cut up short. Looked like Eric Clapton onstage. 10/6 & 10/7 are killer shows sadly unknown by many east coast phans.
This solo plays in my head constantly.
Mine too. Any time I need a mood lift, this is my go to.
0:01 - 7:24 is so epic!!!
This is one of the internet's hottest phish moments. Considering there are thousands of phish videos out there, that is a pretty bold statement, but I stand by it.

What are some others?
@@samh729I really like the Mike's chalkdust weekapaug 12/29/11, I think.
@@samh729also just to add if interested, my two all time favorite shows are sugarbush 94, and NYE 93.
@@samh729 well kind sir if it's adrenaline you're yearning for, I'd suggest Chalk Dust Torture, Run like an Antelope, Saw it Again, and Tweezer Reprise.
Prolly the most clear sounding DwD I’ve ever heard. This would’ve been the live album disease If they made one in 95’
doesn’t this sound like its been “fixed” by ai?
Remember this like it was yesterday. Weird how time really flies. I miss the old days. No responsibilities, make some money, go to shows, get laid, have fun. Man, it went by all too fast.
first time hearing this show, one of the best DWD I've heard. bravo
Wow! One of the best
@WH ROBY 95 is prob The best
Instablaster
I literally just cried a little listening to that guitar solo. Un.Fucking.Real.
well i flat out bawled. best drug ever.
shotgun is right
Same. No other band has done that for me. None
Holy crap Trey is making the hair stand up on every extremity here. I have heard beau coups version of Down, but this is freaking beyond the beyond.
Saw this live and new instantly that is would be one of the greatest DWDs of the era. One of my favorite live Phish moments...that peak!!
On every extremity, so funny, love it
This has always been my favorite DWD from the moment I heard them hit that climax live many many moons ago. Machine Gun Trey in full effect....
I SEARCHED and SEARCHED for this DWD for so long before FINALLY finding it by recognizing the green lights at MSG! @@benringenberg2367 Yes, this is Hershey.
The hair usually gives it away how old the Phish video is. Especially Gordon and Fishman
Page actually having something on the roof is a giveaway as well hahahaha
I LOVE these older versions when they go back into the chorus at the end of the jam.
I need the woah oh's
It's pretty much impossible to not be inspired as a guitar player by this band
that solo gives me chills. Big chillin
Pages fills starting at ~5:15 is the reason I love Phish
Page has always been their ‘not so’ secret weapon.
This is Phish in full swing, and its glorious.
Sounds complex but in reality this is a simple and right to the point jam...although I didn't see phish til they got back together in 09 (Toyota Park was the first) anyone who has dug around into phish history knows 95 was such a powerful year. Yeah this jam kind of stays at one consistent energy building off the same riff but it’s perfectly done and hits just right
This is hand down the best DWD ever! I wish I was alive to be there.. I just saw my first show in hershey not too long ago. And it blew me away. And I just went to a trey show in Boston. Trey is one of the most humble, kind, and talented people I have ever met.

The best guitarist of the 90's right here folks.
I really wish they had a version of this where it was zoomed in on Trey’s solo. One of my favorites!
This dwd fucking rocks the house. They shred the shit out of this. I always feel like I have to catch my breath after listening to this version.
Thats like the man that keeps talking and he doesnt shut up, but he says tge most beautiful things and youre like all right he gonna slow down now but he just keeps cookin ya kno
Truth man yea I agree
My favorite phish video of all time. This jam gets me off every time.

Jesus trey was on fucking fire. Just a beast
anyone who doesn't like this is wrong. this fucking shit Rocks.
Probably my favorite Trey solo on youtube.
the lift-off at 3:50 is what dreams are made of
This and his Wedge solo from Jones Beach 7/2013 are my favorites. Nowadays, I think he's inherited the title Slow Hand.😅

I have had this video favorited for 4 years and it is still a reliable kick ass DWD. Tons of energy packed into a tight 7-1/2 minutes.
sucks i missed them so long..just found'em yesterday..what great music!!
so beautifully done....the finish is just perfect....totally heartfelt and the sound is so crisp.
this is amazing. i listen to a lot of john butler and grateful dead. someone told me to listen to this phish song and omfg this is perfect. i wish i could play such perfect guitar like that damn trey

Phans for a return of the "four across" stage set-up unite!
That's the only way I have seen them, and I have always dug that set up, I dont know any other bands that play the line formation.
Trey used to be on a fucking mission.
Trey used to be on fucking drugs...
I think Trey Anastasio is the best at singing and playing at the same time ever. In terms of the complexity of the riffs he's capable of singing over, it's actually pretty intense.
I was at that show. Mad respect to the person who recorded this in 95!
First show ever. This is one sick ass version of DWD.
love the view of the light show during the jam. wish all the video releases had that view during the jams.
thanks a lot thats an awesome version. I love it when they go back to the outro after the jam
That is like my new go to!!!! Love that song since '95 anyway.
Hot damn that shit was on fire!
thank god for volvo, I almost died trying to hear this on the tube....
Thank you so much for uploading this ✌️✌️✌️
Great sound quality for a video......LOVE IT~ Time to get off hiatus yet, Phish? Kindly

My first show too. High five!

This was my first show!!!
How fuckin awesome to see on you tube.
you can see the back of my head in front of mike. This show forever changed my life(and yes I have seen the dead). Thanx Phish!!!
Phuck yeah. Jammed so smooth. I almost fell out of my chair raging a couple times.
o my god! this really id the best dwd EVER!!! sooooo amazing
one of the best bass lines ive ever heard
this video is great quality!
can't really beat the energy from 90-95.
has to be the best dwd ive heard
I love the band and always will. But this was when the band really just came out and played...RAW. Good times!
I wish trey could still play like this
Me too, but his playing is so polished now. I like both eras equally.
There is no such thing as a solo when it comes to this band. It's really a team effort.
i too am going to my first phish concert in 10 days. your friends will love it. they have to.
one of my favorites
Sweet baby Jesus... unmatched.
Nothing better than PHAT TREY~~~~!!!! OMG!!
that was absolutely amazing
I love when they come back to that line! This song is one of the funnest of theirs to play (that I've learned so far).
6:04 and on is Trey in rare form, just flawless playing
A minimum of 1 extra pair of underpants will be required if you elect to listen past 6:07
drb268dblackm1 6:07 is the reason i listen to phish
Any other guitarists that do that?
I went through 19 myself...
more like from 3:20 on...
well well I like the music keep up the good work.
trey's down with disease solos never cease to melt my face
Hated life in 1995, loved the music of 1995. Got me to 2012.
Good taste solidsnakejt...been playing music for sometime now and these cats are incredible musicians... the Zappa influence really shines on songs such as this one . They are a must see.
well well I like the music keep up the good work
I saw a lot of shows on this tour but not this show. Great DWD, not too long.
This whole show was something special.
The best Type 1 version ever. PERIOD. Anyone who says differently is a damn liar.
I was at this concert too! We were pretty far from the stage . up high on the right..i wish phish would tour again , the concets were so much fun
It's hard to believe a band could be this awesome!!
I was at this show.....my first Phish show ever and I got 7th row center from mailorder.....
...oh...and some of these guitar licks are sick...bravo

What a great light show. A+ Footage...any more
Best DWD ever!
There were times when the lighting looked like a colorful skull.
I see a gigantic fly staring straight at you as he hovers over the band.
its stupid how good that is...
The best I’ve ever seen live
this jam is too damn amazing to end as soon as it does...
outstanding 8 seconds right there. perfect.
Yea its fire a the way through pure manic energy
You know it. that tour was primal
classic & timeless=] Up there with "wilson"
Never has there been a more perfect DWD!! I dont think anyway....how could there be?
This is only the tip of the ice burg my friends! Rippin' rippin version!
Ah remember it like it was yester... well I was there, and it was awesome
This DWD is crazy good. You can almost forgive the vests.
yup , crazy good. My guess is the vests were jests
Thats a really cool piece of phish history, thanks for sharing!
trey's beard is big n fuzzy. great sound and video!!!
