The last 6 minutes of this version can take you to an amazing place. In fact I might move there. Also, if you enjoy running I highly recommend running to this particular version.
Dan Gregory amen without Phish Trey and the boys idk who are what I'd be thanks for all the happy memories and many more to come I love you guys never stop
1) Some really great lighting from Chris in here. You can see why he is ck5. 2) Gin-like jam. Sounds nice, Trey makes a nice theme, and Page plays very well throughout. Fishman and Mike are the stars here, some top notch work from them in the jam. 3) The ghostly drop back into the Ghost theme after the jam segment is kind of mindblowing.
Forgot how good this is. I remember being there and being blown away and I keep coming back every couple of years. But man those last 4 minutes are pure glory. Going to hurt not to see phish for the first time since 2008.
This is just amazing. I can't get enough of it. I love how Trey is walking around in complete control of the jam, while Gordo is in full lock down mode. Definitely one of the best Phish jams of all time. Thanks, HarpuaFSB.
Skiing as well.....I used to race down the mountain making my cuts in sync with this doing downhill halfpipe acrobatics. Highly recommended.....was always favorite part of the day (Or did I put on repeat and just keep doing over and over again?)
I keep coming back to this one... I was behind the stage witnessing the entire room rise up in collective ecstasy. I feel blessed to have been a part of it :)
NEOPHYTE phan here....but happy to have found this. saw them just once, and it was great. this song is kinda "meh" to start, then gets "intriguing" and then shifts into "ok, I'm hooked" and then into "holy crap, where am I being taken" and then on into "this could be better than drugs" moving into "heaven" and eventually jaw dropped.
@pajasper Dude can't we all just get along? Lol. Whoever says it was the best, it was the best TO THEM. Opinions are subjective. I think the Gorge '09 is the most solid Hood. Why? I was there and I loved it the most of all I've seen or heard. Thats all there is to it. Let them have their say without correcting them and sounding like the typical pompous "seen 'em 200+ times" that knows more than anyone. It's music. To each their own. Just enjoy the jams..........
@jskallerup @10:03 Trey does'nt show up with any riff...he'd been playing it the whole time....@12:42 it changes into something different...@13:00 it goes back to the Ghost....c'mon man, pay attention...
@skier123453 dont forget the D mixolydian part in the middle! phish is such a modal band, they transition through these different modes and scales to change up the general vibe and feeling of the music.
Had to come back to this after this year's run left much to be desired IMO. This Ghost represents what keeps me coming back - inspriring, creative, cohesive harmonic convergence. Ahhhh, much better :)
Holy Moses. This blew me away watching the live stream that night and 9+ years later still does. It's not the best Ghost ever, but it's a very special one for sure. Magnificent.
so im not a brother of acid,,or brother of shrooms,,or nuggs,,or whatever the fuckkk,,,thatts not me,,,,,im what you call a true music lover of these guys
so there you go,,,aint looking for no dope,,,and ill never ask for dope because why??cuz I dont get high,,,,,thats right,,,,,,and I dont,,,,,,,,I just really enjoy this music very muchhhh...
I love how Mike makes the transition from A dorian to D mixolydian, from about 6:40 until 6:54 - BOOM. Gorgeous jam, great patience and focus from Trey, no?
I feel I never told you The story of the ghost That I once knew and talked to Of whom I'd never boast For this was my big secret How I'd get ahead And never have to worry I'd call him instead His answer came in actions He never spoke a word Or maybe I laid down the phone Before he could be heard I somehow feel forsaken Like he had closed the door I guess I just stopped needing him As much as once before But maybe he's still with me The latch was left unhooked He's waiting in the wind and rain I simply haven't looked
i love this fucking band. its been a while since ive really listened hard to them. ive been to so much jazz that i kind of forgot about my favorite band. its jams like this that remind me.
I just listened to this for the first time in months and I swear it teleported me back to this night. This whole show was amazing from start to finish but that second set just stands out the most.. I had an outer body experience during sand and this ghost. Great memories..
I looove that outro after the jam. It's like phish is just joking around with you. "Why are you guys smiling so hard? We're just playing some ghost...." ;)
This was the moment I got IT. I Was never the same after this
None of us were after we found Phish. It's beautiful isn't it?
11 years ago and still one of the best jams I have seen in 25 years of phish
The golden age of Phish on TH-cam was when Harpua and mkdevo were giving us soundboards and great fan videos
Amen
It felt like everything right about 3.0 in the way TeamHood was wrong in 2.0!
The last 6 minutes of this version can take you to an amazing place. In fact I might move there.
Also, if you enjoy running I highly recommend running to this particular version.
i prefer the last part of antelope, on repeat, ad infinitum
After I got home from seeing this show I literally listen to this ghost all day for about 6 weeks honest to God
And yes running to this is great I also like the 10-31-13 Carini is nice run as well
The evolution of Ghost is a testament to the amaze of Phish. #GooBalls
VhubhbvhuvhbjjbVicvu
This got me through the Chicago Marathon
Damn you ran a marathon in 13 minutes?
@@SirMichaelFoxtrotobviously not!
He played it twice.
Almost 8 years later and this might still be my favorite thing to come from 3.0
And still one of the most organic, highest hitting peaks Phish has ever done :)
Have you not heard the Magnaball Tweezer>Caspian?
Truly grateful that I get to have phish in my life
Dan Gregory amen without Phish Trey and the boys idk who are what I'd be thanks for all the happy memories and many more to come I love you guys never stop
I don't get high or drink and I still enjoy this music very much,,
Joseph Moore you don’t need drugs to enjoy this music. But when you use drugs, it’s beyond epic.
@@euphegenia Not all heroes wear capes.
I watch this about 2-3 times a week................and I never get tired of it!
Here i am 11 years later, in the same boat 😅

wow, I see why it has the most views. that last few minutes is breathtaking. if you were there, you cried. :)
This is just amazing. I can't get enough of it. I love how Trey is walking around in complete control of the jam, while Gordo is in full lock down mode. Definitely one of the best Phish jams of all time. Thanks, HarpuaFSB.
'cause this was my big secret of how I'd get ahead
i'd always get up early and eat my toast in bed.
I peaked during this Ghost, this and Sand were my highlights of the night. Trey was telling a fucking story with his guitar during this jam...
Skiing as well.....I used to race down the mountain making my cuts in sync with this doing downhill halfpipe acrobatics. Highly recommended.....was always favorite part of the day
(Or did I put on repeat and just keep doing over and over again?)
Still say should of Still be that Funk foree it was in the Beginning. Ala Phatlanta 7/23/1997
good god mike is fucking truckin' on that bass
First time going to phish tonight in new york city. I am estatic on the lirr heading there
6 years later.... So, how was the show?! :D
glimpses of the greatness that once was.
Excellent version, 9:14 is a pinnacle example of why this band continues to be a huge part of my life!
I streamed this show when I was sick with the flu. Still even through the sickness this jam always held weight.
The jam towards the end lets me know everything will be okay.
The Holy Ghost
the best thing 5 hour energy ad taught me, is to weight 5 seconds, click skip, and smoke ganja and listen to this.
Man, I miss Trey's fingers :(
I keep coming back to this one... I was behind the stage witnessing the entire room rise up in collective ecstasy. I feel blessed to have been a part of it :)
Ah yes, that was my therapy session for today, thank you

These are some of the silliest comments TH-cam has to offer.
Had to come back to this after this year's run left much to be desired IMO. This Ghost represents what keeps me coming back - inspriring, creative, cohesive harmonic convergence. Ahhhh, much better :)
Best Ghost? I would have to vote for Portland OR 9/99, I mean the fucking spaceship landed about 22 mins in. Was anybody there?
now can we please get a bluray release of the run? that would be delicious.
thank you little baby jesus for this ridiculous ghost.
Holy Moses. This blew me away watching the live stream that night and 9+ years later still does. It's not the best Ghost ever, but it's a very special one for sure. Magnificent.
@pajasper I like this Ghost, but I agree with you. I can name three Denver 97, Raleigh 98 and Atlanta 97
@choherd you saaid it i was at that show and was not a big fan of bathtub gin until that show it was epic

One thing that has always confused me, would this song be considered to be in A Dorian or G Major?
That's fuckin' masterful. Ugh, brings a tear to my eye, how much joy this band makes me feel.
@amckenzie120 Hood from 12-28-10 or Seven Blow > What's the Use from the night before...
if this link is no longer working a may just cry
one of the greatest ghost EVER. 1.0 1.5 2.0 2.25 2.5 3.0 ha who cares which era.
YESSS!!!! There is hope after all!
Just noticed the guy in the middle with the Arsenal jersey on.
I love how Mike makes the transition from A dorian to D mixolydian, from about 6:40 until 6:54 - BOOM.
Gorgeous jam, great patience and focus from Trey, no?
I feel I never told you
The story of the ghost
That I once knew and talked to
Of whom I'd never boast
For this was my big secret
How I'd get ahead
And never have to worry
I'd call him instead
His answer came in actions
He never spoke a word
Or maybe I laid down the phone
Before he could be heard
I somehow feel forsaken
Like he had closed the door
I guess I just stopped needing him
As much as once before
But maybe he's still with me
The latch was left unhooked
He's waiting in the wind and rain
I simply haven't looked
Hello Forrest.
2010, best year. Change my mind.
oh my BASS BOMBS @ 12:20
I listened and fell in love with this before drugs..F off
Who is the one idiot that didn't like this?!?!
i loveee this song
this was an important moment in early 3.0. glad to see it holds up so well.
this is why i love this band... bravo boys... see you in the summer!
@pajasper I don't care what you think.

Where does it come from?
Funk - Triumphant - Funk
Who the F dislikes this?
@pcburgh01
Prague '98?
They just dropped the SBD on Live Bait 13, but honestly, watching Trey "Lurching towards success" Anastasio rip this up... priceless.
some crunchy grooves
inspirational at best
Mike looks like Bea Arthur.
This jam melts my face
dude in green shirt
Long Live HarpuaFSB
absolutely soaring jam! brings a smile to my face
great
This is my happy
best 3.0 ghost
Still come back to this one 8 years later. This jam was when 3.0 officially found it's groove. I was lucky enough to be there.
remarkable.
tasty jam
Hose.
bananas
i love this fucking band. its been a while since ive really listened hard to them. ive been to so much jazz that i kind of forgot about my favorite band. its jams like this that remind me.
yo
Fish on the right?!
I was there.
Fu$k that's a 8ig ghost*
my comment was supposed to be sarcasm folks
Why else would I post 'phish doesn't jam anymore' on a video with an insanely good jam?
@pajasper true. this is a great phish 3.0 ghost, one of the best i've heard but nothing beats a 98 ghost
I just listened to this for the first time in months and I swear it teleported me back to this night. This whole show was amazing from start to finish but that second set just stands out the most.. I had an outer body experience during sand and this ghost. Great memories..
Holy shit this is maybe the awesomest ghost EVER I am listening for the 4th time in a row YAY
I looove that outro after the jam. It's like phish is just joking around with you. "Why are you guys smiling so hard? We're just playing some ghost...." ;)
Now this is good shit. Those early 3.0 gems like this are really something. A taste of things to come....
hose.
If you can't appreciate where they go with this you are IN FACT completely dead inside...
Could you lead me to another "optimistic jam" like this? Been playing this one alot and I agree
