Anyone who hates Farmhouse is not a Phan. First Tube is a shower-stopper, not to mention Grammy nominated for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Dirt is beautiful, melodically and harmonically. Gotta Jibboo is a classic Phish rock song that always leads to impressive jams and will never go out of style. Even among all the "Phans" there remains a minority of True, Honoring, and Dedicated Lovers of Phish music. Rock On.
I remember when they would check you for cameras. I taped a camera to the inside of my leg one time at a Phish show just to get a shot of the greatest show on earth. Once phones with cameras came into play those days went quickly out the window. Whenever I'm at a show now I can't stand all the ppl trying to record on their phones while they miss most of the moments that make a Phish show. Miss those days of no cells, long and forgotten now.
One of the best things about a modern Phish show is that it's largely a refuge from cell phones. Yes, you'll see some here and there. But more than 99 out of 100 people in the crowd don't have it out at any given moment. The same sadly can't be true of almost every other show you'll ever see.
This song I heard a 1000xs but everytime I listen to it. I just love it more and more and Trey did on his acoustic tour with a little girl I was balling so Awesome
IT fest - wolfed a handfull of shrooms and heard the show start on the "bunny". ran a mile and a half..this song started just as we "settled in" yea. i left my body..was AWESOME. havent needed to trip since, either...everytime i hear this song now.. hehe love it!!
I wonder if they look back at this show, Roseland, with any memories that stand out at all. For me, looking back, I was thinking well maybe they can pull this off without just fizzling into nothing as I was losing faith very quickly. When Trey told Charlie Rose that he wondered if there any old fans that really was happy that they broke up rather than see them or the music suffer any more than it already did, i was screaming "YES" to the TV. Thankfully for us and them, the reset button worked! ...but back to this show, it stands out tremendously bright from anything else early 99 and after...for me anyway. love these fuckers.
JDEP what the fuck are you talking about? Do you realize how many insane solid shows were played ‘99-‘00 and ‘03-‘04.? I know, I know everyone has an opinion and I remembers treys interviews and comments. I would take a 1999 or 2000 show anytime over 95% of 3.0 shows...
Justin Hayes Unfortunately, I wasn’t at Big Cypress. I’m not saying everything sucked after 98’, rather that had they not hit the reset there would be no Phish today.
.... saw early phish 1.0 in 1990, got back on train for Hampton phish shows, cried because coventry was such a huge POS, almost forgotten about them until Bobby Weir, made Trey, lite fire under his arse, magna ball made me believer again, now I can'T get enough....just say MOAR!
yup of the six times I have seen this song live this was time that had really gave it some meaning for absolute meaning for me. I had a couple in front of me that just could not tolerate my sing-a-long & shouting. To make matters worse, I was to the back right of the venue where the ceiling suddenly drops and makes it difficult for one to hear. LOL. I believe this story is the reason for The Comeback BUG of 2/15/03 which was TOTHETOP. phans, it REALLY doesn't matter. ;)
I remember this was on the the short lived vh1live show and they did a special 1 hr episode, which means there is sick footage of at least a set out there
didn't get tix for Hampton either dissapointed was there last time after MSG for new yrs! well got Knoxville,Star lake and Aplpine Valley!! Hope everyone has a safe summer!
Even dancing in generation x was an interesting reality if one doesn't dance will all the happy feat dancing too, my grandma said my generation doesn't dance I bogged my feet off instead - was a challenge posed
I got screwed in the lottery and didn't get tickets for Hampton.... so we're in the same boat. :( Hopefully they come back to Deer Creek where I live nearby!! C-ya down the road phriend. Boogie on...
very great, now don't think or even imagine saying pissy stupid shit about each other could change what just happened here. This song simply rocks and no contempt for each other could make Mike the jewish lad from BOston seem like he isn't playing to a staring musician.
@ajbellis how bout Sand, Twist, Jibbo, Back on the Train, Heavy Things, Piper, First Tube, Driver, Dirt....lol i probobly just listed all the songs you didnt but thats a hell of a second set right there!
@frymane652 yes trey is the primary songwriter, along with mr tom marshall, but they all sing and write dude. mike songs are classics too you should know this
Indeed. Super weird. I like this sound, though. In my opinion, the best organization is with Fishman on Stage Left, nobody in front of nor behind anyone else.
All these songs got written down and inserted into the position of the new stable workings probably one of those investments to come back around , haste is waste also
@frymane652 Really? Trey and Mike sing. They both write lyrics from time to time, but Tom Marshall writes most of their lyrics. Easy on the caps there, bud. MIke's written some of my favorite tunes. "Weigh," "Contact," "Mound"
i used to be friends with a guy that could play this song on piano and guitar, than he got really into god and quit doing drugs, now i can't get him to playing anything but chirstan music. it makes me mad to think that he can't lissen to Phish without thinking about drungs.
The phrasing and forced rhyming is distracting if you listen to the words, otherwise I love this song. and like wilco, I can't stand the 3-5X repetitions of a line in a chorus...

Who doesn’t like Farmhouse?
Nobody likes Milhouse.
Andrew Grosman don’t rag on milhouse, NERDSS UNITE
I think Farmhouse is one of their tightest and best produced albums. My personal favorite.
i like farmhouse. its consistent.
I get nostalgic for the pre-cell phone days. Everyone just living in the moment. Concerts are different now.

Definitely! And too many people trying to talk over the band

I'm always impressed with Fishman's work.
Fishman is one of, if not THE most under-rated drummers of all time.. ✌️
I'm blown away by Fishman's beats!
This is up there with one of my most memorable shows!! Pure chills!!
Bug is timeless Phish...makes me happppyysmilessss
I was at this show, LOVE Roseland standing room only , can't believe it was over 22 years already saw so many shows in 2000 all $20 or less
This song I heard a 1000xs but everytime I listen to it. I just love it more and more and Trey did on his acoustic tour with a little girl I was balling so Awesome
big red makes me smile in this. thanks trey
this comment is still a vibe and I stand by it.
Farmhouse was the first phish album i owned and is still one i keep close
Love to see Trey work this tune, never get tired of it. I can tell he "transports", in moments, working this jam. Hair raiser!
He transports to the land of Dorian

No dislikes.... The way it should be
Even dancing in generation x was an interesting reality if one doesn't dance will all the happy feat dancing too, my grandma said my generation doesn't dance I bogged my feet off instead - was a challenge posed
tom marshal is one of their really good friends, he also does alot of writing for them
@ajbellis +1. sand and first tube are the heat too. wish they played them both more live, especially sand
it doesn't matter
nothing I c can be taken from me
Love!!!
I got screwed in the lottery and didn't get tickets for Hampton.... so we're in the same boat. :( Hopefully they come back to Deer Creek where I live nearby!! C-ya down the road phriend.
Boogie on...
awesome..it doesn't matter
Bye oxy trey , i loved you still
Tom Marshall wrote songs for phish Dakota
this is a really great bug. wasnt this filmed for vh1?
this song reminds me of "Opium" by moe. has the same chord progression for the chorus. idk which came first
dudes sparking up at 5:57 lol
Totally were. :)
@ajbellis i agree and im a phish fan
when trey is singing "it doesnt matter" what is mike singing?
Overrated?
this was a pretty small venue for 2000 wasnt it?
very great, now don't think or even imagine saying pissy stupid shit about each other could change what just happened here. This song simply rocks and no contempt for each other could make Mike the jewish lad from BOston seem like he isn't playing to a staring musician.
gordon looks like he could stand in at a supertramp show
@ajbellis how bout Sand, Twist, Jibbo, Back on the Train, Heavy Things, Piper, First Tube, Driver, Dirt....lol i probobly just listed all the songs you didnt but thats a hell of a second set right there!
What do you mean by that?
@laddy2020 Easy on the doses, brahhh
@frymane652 yes trey is the primary songwriter, along with mr tom marshall, but they all sing and write dude. mike songs are classics too you should know this
First Tube - nuff said
his first name was jon.
weird seeing trey and mike in different positions on the stage
Indeed. Super weird. I like this sound, though.
In my opinion, the best organization is with Fishman on Stage Left, nobody in front of nor behind anyone else.
Love love love❤
Waving from the kissing booth everyone wants a cool pbr instead plum out of taddy porter also
who is tom??
i know trey fish paige and mike...
Dakota Jafferis Tom Marshall.
@feverlead you meant to say youre a phish phan
Actually, it was Jeff.
@YellowJullyfish i am trippin
All these songs got written down and inserted into the position of the new stable workings probably one of those investments to come back around , haste is waste also
no i am talking about someone else named jon. sorry for the misunderstanding we had there.
sounds like Jeff Holdsworth
It doesn't matter..............
i just watched this cuz it's silverchair's thumbnail pic
@YellowJullyfish ;)
@frymane652 Really? Trey and Mike sing. They both write lyrics from time to time, but Tom Marshall writes most of their lyrics. Easy on the caps there, bud. MIke's written some of my favorite tunes. "Weigh," "Contact," "Mound"
@ajbellis.. if by phans you mean PT...haters gon hate.
lol @ weigh and contact. pretty silly lyrics. still love phish though.
i thought Jeff was on rhythm guitar..
i used to be friends with a guy that could play this song on piano and guitar, than he got really into god and quit doing drugs, now i can't get him to playing anything but chirstan music. it makes me mad to think that he can't lissen to Phish without thinking about drungs.
It DOESN'T matter
Used to hate this song in '99 ... just not what you want to see when you travel days and days for a few shows ... like it now though!
sorry that last word is spelled "drugs"
@ajbellis the truth is their not fans at all they dont really care for phish
let me clarify some other posts... you cant be a phish "fan". you can only be a phish phan. there is a difference whish needs to be respected
@phishphreak247 Your lack of punctuation makes your comment ambiguous. Something like "The haters can´t wait ´till.."
-Can't they? Ok.
Don't need it, don't feed it, thoughts faded, over-rated
@feverlead If you were a true phish phan you would have spelt it p-h-a-n
The phrasing and forced rhyming is distracting if you listen to the words, otherwise I love this song.
and like wilco, I can't stand the 3-5X repetitions of a line in a chorus...
