Thank you for all the sweet messages to ask how Loulou is doing. In addition to the calcium problem, she is doing well. This is more common with small dogs and more puppies. They give so much milk that it draws all the calcium from their bodies. Because of that they get eclampsia. This can be very harmful if you do nothing and even lead to death. We try to get this under control with a veterinarian. Actually ... 3 different vets. If Loulou gets eclampsia, she gets an injection from the vet which helps immediately. This helps 2 days. Loulou eats a lot, she has a very extensive diet, extra bones, egg shells, calcium powder, curd cheese, special puppy milk, etc. If Loulou goes well tomorrow and she doesn't get any eclampsia, there is progress and we get it under control. The vet advises NOT to stop feeding. No artificial milk for the puppies. In 1 week the puppies will try solid food and will help a lot. I'll keep you updated.

One of the first videos I saw of Loulou was when she was sharing a carrot with a rabbit, one on each end. . . an amazing dog :o)
My goodness she is beautiful. So shiny, such gorgeous eyes. My two and all doxies have those big baby eyes. They will be much more kinder to mom once they start eating. You are a very good mom. Love your updates and thank you for posting them.

I was stressed worrying about her delivery. Then I was stressed worrying about if they were all healthy. Now there's the calcium thing to keep me worried. 🙄

I can almost smell the sweet puppy breath! In couple weeks your girls can lay on the floor and enjoy a puppy swarm.
This pile of paws, noses and pink bellies ..... brings back hope for this world! So much happened on this day in history and very sad events. Happy video like that makes us all happy, kind and carrying for each other. Thank you for all your videos!
Loulou should be observed at hospital where she can receive immediate care, should she require it, and released to go home when she has fully stabilized. She is a love and I hope she recovers soon - back to her wonderful, happy self! 🐾🎶

I can't believe it's been 18 days already! They're growing so healthy and strong. Rooting and praying for LouLou as she battles eclampsia. You and Fred and the family are taking such great care of her. She is going to be alright!
Lou Lou is a very healthy, well cared for dog. The vets will get her back to normal. Sometimes it is just too hard to manage a condition at home. Visit her when you can so she can stay in touch with you & be less afraid. Sending love to you all

My gosh, those puppies are adorable. Love their little yawns. And Loulou looks better... in the last vid, she looked so tired. She's such a great mom. I love how little Loulou is so chill and calm until it's dinner time and she just goes crazy. These videos are almost therapeutic. They ease they soul and mind. What's not to love about piles of pups?

All through this LouLou doesn't seem to mind all the puppy demands. She is very patient especially now that they are eating more. It will be good for her when they go on solid foods.

There is nothing in life like a dachshund owning you!! They are they thigh and butt warmers of a lifetime. One of my dachsunds Willie I had for 18 years and that boy could have written a book of games to play with tennis balls.

I'm always amazed at how a clean eater LouLou is! No slobber, and manages to keep all the food in her mouth without touching the ground; no matter how big a piece it is.
Oh those young-uns! They are almost like people. And of course Loulou is like a really devoted mommy. It is all so sweet to watch.
I was getting updated on the impeachment trial I didn't want to go to sleep with that. Thank you for sharing the calm and joy of new life. I can go to sleep happy now. So glad Loulou is doing better
Those whole small fish you were feeding LouLou in earlier videos are a great source of Calcium as well (from their small bones). The fish are also a great source of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, necessary for Brain , Nerve, and Retinal growth.
Nothing sweeter than watching baby doxie sleepy yawns... can't wait til they're running around wiggling little doxie butts everywhere!!

Wow! I had a miniature red female for 14.5 years. I bought when I was 18 years old & 1st moved out on my own. She was my Little Girl! I then adopted 2 more about 6 months later. 1 was a red mini female & a male black & tan mini. They were raised together & the shelter I got them from didn't want them separated. They had both in the puppy section of the shelter. They said if they were by themselves, they would have been adopted immediately, but taking on 2 middle aged Dachshunds is a lot to think about! Funny thing is the red female reminded me of my baby girl!
God how I cried when she passed away, but adopting the two brought me joy & loved them both so much as well. The red female didn't like attention too much. The male black & tan loved to be loved on! He was my little dude! Thanks for video! It's been 6 years now without any dog in my life. I want more again, but have to in the right situation & house to get 2 more. I will never again only have 1 puppy. Seeing the 2 together made them best friends!

Dachshunds are the BEST!!!!!!!! I've had dachshunds since I was 11, and they have a permanent spot in my heart! They are the perfect family pet! They may be stubborn and have selective hearing at times, but they are the sweetest! My daughter and I have come to the conclusion that when they were made that the part of their personality/attitudes, that there was an accidental extra amount of "naughtiness" put in, and so to try and balance things out, a large dose of cuteness was added! So now when they do something bad that their sweet faces just melt away the frustration! And their sweet attitudes are hilarious, and they definitely complete a family!

This has been a terrific thing to experience. I have been a dachshund owner (enabler?) all my life but I have never seen newborn puppies (and their daily progress) in such detail. I always get my puppies at 8 - 10 weeks old, weaned, ready for puppy chow. Thank you for the videos...you and Loulou and the gang are aces! 🍀🍀🍀🍀

All the best to little Loulou, her puppies and your family. Knowing how much you love your pets I can imagine how scared you have been. My dog had a few scares and I definitely shed tears. She will be fine, you are on top of it. Iv drip infusions for rapid vitamin distribution are so beneficial for both humans and animals. I guess everybody in your house is working hard right now:).
