Thank you, thank you, thank you! I bought a skein to play with to see if it would work using the granny stitch technique but hadnt started yet. I was wondering how long it would take for you to put out a tutorial..lol I love your color pooling videos as they have been game changers for me. Keep up the wonderful work and thank you so much for sharing with us all.
I've been making these blankets with granny square yarn since I saw your "Taming two stubborn color pooling yarns" last year!!! I'm excited more people know about it now. To eliminate a lot of trial and error, I just went by the clusters of the example granny square on the label which was 4/8/12/16/20 and my gauge only ended up being +1 cluster for every color (5/9/13/17/21) and a finished blanket measures out to a generous 72 inches wide with one full repeat or 36 inches only doing half a repeat.
Oh my gosh! You are a genius! I didn’t even think about referencing the granny square for an idea of the number of clusters. 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you for watching and supporting my channel. 😁💜
I think you very much for making this video it was very educational at least to me I have learned a lot from you. Please continue to make your videos and don't worry about the haters because we all have them❤❤❤❤
Will this work with any of the different colors of red heart granny square or just with the Black hyper Violet? I love this !! Thank you for doing the video!!!
It definitely will work with the other colors. The yarn is all engineered the same but nothing can be exact so there may be a need to adjust here and there (but that’s normal for color pooling anyway.) Good luck and you’ve got this! 😁💜
Color pooling is what got me initially interested in crochet! I feel confident in my skills at this point to finally give it a try! Your video really helps me to understand the process. So thank you!!
Wow! That is so neat. I was immediately intrigued when I discovered color pooling and have been hooked ever since (pun intended). I’m so glad my video was helpful. Check out my color pooling series if you need a more thorough breakdown. You can totally do it! 😁💜 th-cam.com/play/PLmNKKqcIMS0H2eCBnjkQFIB_Z18FafWJv.html&si=UaltJQwMywvE6bnY
I had been wondering if this yarn would pool. Thank you for showing the "messy" side to color pooling. It makes it so much more helpful when you are learning something new to see what can go wrong, mistakes, and how to work things out. I don't think I've seen the argyle pattern used with the granny stitch; I like it. For some reason, I struggle with getting the argyle to come out without a lot of fussing. My last project, I gave up on counting each color section and just made sure it lined up correctly. Thanks for sharing!
You’re very welcome. I really almost started completely over but like you said, I wanted to show the reality of what goes on with color pooling to make the magic happen. I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! 😁💜

Thank you for watching and for your kind words. That is a puzzle from Dollar Tree. I glued it with puzzle glue after putting it together so I could display it. 😁💜
@@ItsTimeforYarn thank you so much I was kinda looking for it as a diamond painting but I love puzzles I wish I could find it. If you know the brand could you let me know. I just love your channel you need to post more I loved to see more
I'm not clear on what you mean by "a foundationless single crochet, where you build in the chain in a row of single crochet," can you expand on that? Excited to try pooling with this yarn, relieved to find your video on it 😅
Thank you so much. I hope the series I have is helpful. The foundationless single crochet is a method that incorporates the beginning chain and the first row of stitches together so that you don’t have the awkward first row (struggling with the chain, big holes where the beginning row stitches are…) and it makes a sturdier foundation for the first row. I haven’t fully mastered it so I have to search for videos on it every time I want to use it. It also works for Half-double and Double crochet stitches.
At 3 minutes, you show a chart. How did you create that chart? When you swatch, if you measure the color run for each color (gently wrap lengthwise on a ruler) you can count the clusters /stitches as you work and have a better estimate.
Hi there. I definitely could do that but I enjoy seeing the stitches worked out. That’s a good idea for someone who wants to speed up the process. Thanks for the idea. 😁💜

How many skeins did you use for one blanket? This stuff is on sale EVERYWHERE right now and the price is right for a quick blanket!
@@sarahmaloon5198 I used 4 skeins. Snatch it up while you can!
Awesome Erica!
Thank you Shannon! 😁💜
You look beautiful and gorgeous loves your works in crochetting
This just blows my mind that you can predict all of these lining up so perfectly

Your style of teaching made it click for me and I’m doing a blanket with 18 granny stitch clusters per color, the blanket is coming out great!

P.S. did you know about the giant yarn skien redheart came out with? It's like 20$ not on sale, comes in 'black', green, blue, n white.
What??! I’ll have to check this out! 😁💜
Joann's had it on sale for $6.99, in my area, in case you want to purchase.

How many skeins did you use
I used 4 skeins of the granny square yarn and it makes a blanket that is about 5 ft by 7 ft. I am using black yarn from my stash to border it.
@@ItsTimeforYarn awesome thank you
Gosh, so complicated for me. Got lost. Thanks but no.
