Thank you for the demo! Gave me tons of ideas. I find this to be my absolute favorite for painting co it just feels natural. A lot of control and three in one brushes as you said 😄

Thanks very much for that demo. That brush is very versatile. I' d love to have one. I have collected many brushes. There is a great range that might do this. The Daler Rowney Graduate. It has everything. Every kind of brush and I'd be very surprised if the cats tongue is not made by them. And they are great quality. I have been collecting. They are under 4 euros each which is why I collect them I only get one or two a week but I have collected quite a few and I have to say it's money well spent. I haven't come across this cats tongue brush yet but maybe because I wasn't really looking for it This Daler Rowney Graduate I' ve seen several artists on TH-cam using these, so they have to be good quality. I love them. They work for me as good as they look. They are beautiful brushes. Even if you can only get one at a time depending on your budget they are well worth it. But look after them. Don't leave them in water. No matter how good a brush is if you abuse them they're not going to last. If you're good to them they will be good to you. I hope this is of some help. I'm sure there is a cats tongue in that range somewhere because they do so many large medium and small. Much love and God bless Susan xxxx❤❤❤❤❤👍🕊🙏🙏🙏⭐🎨
"Cat's tongue" is getting easier to search for. I first heard about it close to 15 years ago. Back then it was nowhere on the web. I just happened to walk by and see one in the store. You can find them listed as "Oval Wash" or for smaller sizes they are called "Pointed Filbert". Not all companies make that fine point shape though even if they call it one of those 3 names so seeing it is the key. Thank you for your comment and good luck on your search!
The brush is a size 10 but what maker? I've never seen a cats tongue that is so thinned at the end. I need one with that versatility. 😫 We can't make out the brand name even on a 4k 55" TV.
Thanks for asking. I went ahead and pinned a full response at the top of the comments. It is made by Loew-Cornell. Unfortunately it is out of stock at all of it's current suppliers. I listed several other cat's tongue examples and web links. I'll update when the maker has more supply.
Just watercolor paint... oxide of chromium (green) is my favorite sometimes adding a bit of blue to darken or yellow for a sun glow. But all watercolor paint. Chinese white or gouache white tends to make the color a bit creamy and sit more on the surface. I miss the clarity of pure watercolor whenever I've tried adding white gouache so I stick to translucent watercolor.
I'm using a Loew Cornell La Corneille Brush, LC7930 Flora by Loew Cornell. Purchased 10 yrs ago (long before "cat's tongue" was so popular). If you type cat's tongue into amazon there are several good options these days just make sure the tip comes to a fine point and isn't just another round or filbert brush the seller is mislabeling.
Best evergreen explanation I have watched. Thank you for sharing 😊

Did you use white gausche color also

Is this the same as a Pointed Oval?
Yes, Oval Wash or Pointed Oval depending on the brand they might call it a bit different. This one has synthetic sable bristles.
Thanks ... I’ll have to give this a try.
Glad I could help!
Very interesting brush. What’s the brand name? Or where to get it? Thanks!

This is off topics, but the drawing is amazing. I’ve never had a “cat brush” before, probably will help me with my drawings, I guess I’ll buy one.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I've pinned a comment at the top with links to several types of 'cat's tongue' brushes.
