- Seth and Emily have been building container homes for several years now, and they've gotten very good at it. So good, in fact, that they quit their jobs to do this full time. In today's video, we're touring one of their more recent creations, the Roca BoxHop, which they use as a vacation rental (so you can come visit)! They explain the ins and outs of working with containers, the pros and cons, as well as why they love it.

Probably one of the most awesome houses that I have ever seen. Container or not. The only thing that I would be missing is a fireplace

Any toxic metals in the container since it was not created to be a dwelling? Will the metal attract lightening? Concerns for flooding in that ravine?
@@ishajac3637 love the location, exterior build is amazing and beautiful inside not so much. Very cute but not functional for a family of 6 living in a 2 bedroom home. Having said that, they obviously love their quirky interior design and I wish them many happy years growing their children surrounded by nature's beauty. Incredible build.🤗
That is the coolest place I've seen in a while. The placement was so unique. I love all the colors and the wallpapers. Even the floors are so personal and adding the light from her grandmother was a perfect touch. It would make a perfect retreat for a writer to get inspiration.
Maybe, they could turn it into a retreat, when they move on.
Love the design and how it was put together! The decor was a bit too eccentric for me I'd have gone for colors and accents that compliment the nature I was around. Good for them though I can only imagine what a chunk of change that land prolly cost.
Agreed. Quite gaudy especially the sheep head.

@@elisesterling9634 yeah I swear I'm not being catty just when she got to the kitchen and said "we just wanted that pop of red" all I could think is what pop? So many colors are battling against each other there's no pop, some ones child ate a box of crayons and it came back up.

This house has got to be my absolute favorite house, (tiny or traditional). It's stunning, especially the location. What a beautiful place to live or visit. There are only two things I would change. The dark green paint by the stairs and the rams head. Other than that this house is perfect!
The bedrooms changed how I felt about the space
Gorgeous, stunning, natural, creative -- there are too many adjectives to describe this great container home and the surrounding property! I love the eclectic decor and the various bright paints and wallpapers the homeowners chose. The specially cut shakes on the outside of the house are perfection. Could I live there? Oh, hell, yes!!

Omgosh that's absolutely gorgeous!! Im from Ohio and before ya'll even said it i said "That's Hocking Hills, Ohio!" Been there so many times and my family still goes there to camp. Its absolutely the prettiest place in Ohio.

Yep born and raised in Columbus spent alot of time in Hocking Hills and Buckeye lake. Had family in Zanesville and spent alot of time at Salt Forked state park. I dont think people realize how beautiful many parts of Ohio really are. I live in AZ now so I miss the fall there so much it definitely is as pretty as New England autumns.

I love the whimsey of the house but! you got 4 kids! not enough rooms for them! Other than that one critic , it is a fun, beautiful home! My very favorite home, ever!!!

I must say, I love container homes, and this home is one of my favorite container homes. The only downfall, they did not extend the sides of the containers to add more width. As you notice, it is tight and there are no closets or storage places. The design is absolutely beautiful, thank you for sharing this video and seeing the creativity in people.
Nobody could say that Emily does not have eclectic tastes in colour. They are not my choices, but that does not stop me admiring them. Well done Emily and Seth.

This is likely the most beautifully decorated tiny house I've ever seen! The shower tiles are totally stunning. The excellent placement of the windows to enjoy the gorgeous views is brilliant. Am I inspired? Totally!

I lived in a shipping container for a year in Afghanistan. we had them stacked two tall with staircases to get to the top unit. really is a great way to use as a house

That design first of all, is brilliant. But the background... OMG !
With her vision for design and his ability to make that vision come to life they make a great team. It's not necessarily my taste, but I really do appreciate what they've done. It does seem a little tight for a family of six. I'm surprised they didn't make the space bigger with say another container. But again, super talented couple and a very charming home.

This is the most beautifully done container home I have seen.I think the smooth walls that are coloured and covered with exquisite wallpapers is so fun and make it feel so warm. As the children get older ,there will be problems with sleeping space !unless they add on a few more bedrooms.But I love this one so beautifully planned and even though it’s in the rocks I love that too as you still get all the wonderful views 🥰

This is my favorite container house. It's beautiful, magical, stunningly and uniquely decorated. The placement is perfection. Emily you are a fantastic visionary. Love the personal touches and the organic roof. So envious!

I love the chandelier in the dining room. It’s gorgeous. I have a spiral staircase. It wasn’t a lot of fun when I had to up and down it when I was pregnant. I also love the round window seat. I could live in that area. I grew up in a national forest and miss it now. You guys did a great job!

Creative space. Very very eclectic. I dunno if I would choose all those wall covering choices. Too busy for me. But I absolutely loved the 2nd floor shower tile. Haven't seen that before.

Love the concept - my taste would lean toward less "whimsical" with the colour scheme and greater use of natural materials and colours that blend with views from the windows. The environment surrounding this unique structure is spectacular and more features like that magnificent stone basin would be my choice.

I adore Emily's whimsical design from the windows to lighting to floors. The bold wallpapers pull it altogether in my opinion. I wondered about closet space, especially with kids, until I read in the description that this showing is one of their B & B's.

Amazing stunning build. The interior rocks(no pun intended. LOL) Views are mind blowing, but what about rock slides? Also, it snows a LOT in Ohio, so what is accessing this like in the winter. I would be concerned about being snowed in. Like totally have too much to even open the door. The other thing that comès to mind is that there seems to be only one entrance/exit, which is a concern as far as fire/emergency safety.
This is such a stunning unique location but it would have been interesting to have heard something about plumbing, electricity, heating, cooling and if any of the windows open, and how they control air quality since containers are built airtight. They also didn't mention if they actually live there or if they rent it out. I'm sure I'm not the only inquiring mind that would like to know.
