Another possibility for the fliers is the pellet clipping the moderator if you are using one. This has happened to me twice.

I believe the first shot flyer is because usually on in my case it's because I just filled up the gun to and the valves tight lot of air or not enough air results in the first shot.

I always dry fire 3 shots to settle the regulator.

Have u ever tested the mcx virtus air rifle in 22? I’ve own a few of these same virtus Airgun and they all shoot the same which is not very accurate. It’s only a 12 fpe gun but with a few mods u can get it up to 16-17 fpe. It has an accuracy problem and all 3 virtus that I had shot all had a messy grouping. You should make a video on how to fix and correct the accuracy on this gun. Personally I think the barrel needs a crown done.

    Good video!
Still not a PCP airgunner myself. Mostly co2 airguns. But I do often take a shot or two empty before putting ammo in it. Mostly to make the valve all good after a possible long time storqge. Not really the same thing as mentioned here - but my paranoid side kinda makes me do so before any decent target shooting..😂

@@airenthusiast2000 i was looking online at Lowes for Super Lube, it looks like there are several different types. Some are grease and some are oil. Can you tell me which one specifically, grease or oil?

First shot flyer could also be caused,by the oil/grease from the pellet, becoming settled in the bore a certain way,,,,if you store in lying down,,or standing up postion. this could influence how pellet grips the rifling,,there by causing a flyer All pellet makers use grease in their pellet dies,,as it comes off on your fingers when loading.
