I'm old enough to have loved The Ronettes' original recording back in 1963, and this version is a fine tribute to them. Thank you, Canada, for The Beaches.
I get this might not be everyone's cup of tea, but IMO this is what a cover should be. They owned the song, played it in their own fashion. Really interesting arrangements. Props to you girls!
Love the original, HOWEVER the brunette singing lead with the growling Fender Precision is totally awesome. Resonates a dream girl I knew years ago but with a positive aura. Totally floors me and I don’t floor often. One great, inspiring performance.
I am from Montreal. I'm almost 53 and I just discovered this band. They rocked this song, it's not supposed to be polished you idiots! This is their sound and right now they are the best Canadian band out there. You girls rock!!! Makes a guy proud to be Canadian. Way to go Toronto....
Well said. I am a massive fan of the Beaches. I am 64 years old but I am cooler than my kids when it comes to music. I live in Birmingham, England and I am trying to get more people to listen to The Beaches. They are the best all female band on the planet in my opinion.
Let’s look at a few things here... 1. These girls were not even born when the original came out. Good on them for playing an awesome classic song. + 2. They made it their own and not a clone. + 3. The Ronnettes were an incredible VOCAL group that did not play their own instruments ( although they had some of the best professional studio musicians in the business backing them). These girls played! + 4. The Ronnettes had Phil Specter and a studio, these girls played LIVE + You go girls!
These girls PARENTS may not have even been born then! Or just barely! Good cover, but I think hey did an even better cover of Loverboys' Turn Me Loose! But this was their own interpretation, vs. almost note for note on the Loverboy tune. They are one of my favorite new bands!
James Dukes yes! This is what it’s all about; the song gets passed on in a different genre that appeals to a more modern audience, and then people check back to the original, and voila the song stays alive as long as the cycle continues
This is one of my all time favorite songs and your rendition of this song is original and captivating. Not everyone may like your rendition and that’s ok - they can post their cover of this song.
I wish I was there to see this concert in person, they sound and look so damn good! This cover is simply amazing, what a performance! Chills, so many chills
I love it! They play it with so much energy and passion, and like others on here have mentioned, they put their own stamp on it. I'm sure Ronnie approves 😎
Well done, because The Beaches didn't try to replicate Ronnie's breakthrough original version. They brought their own style to the song, with a lot of attitude. The original is one of my favorite songs of all time, but I like this one as well.
Love this version, would love to hear them take it to a studio, too. Also, it's just nice to see Kylie and Leandra having so much fun performing, brings a great energy to every one of their performances I see.
Y’all are acting like this cover went back in time, murdered Phil Spector, and just totally erased any evidence of Be My Baby by the Ronettes. Just go listen to that version if you don’t like punk. This cover is what got me into the original and the fact that I can appreciate both is what I love about music
Love the beaches, and this is a great, original, beaches take on a great song! LOVE the changes, updates, and beaches ness of it! Truly pop punk, just like everything by the beaches! Drummer is, as always, SUPER awesome and commercial pop hooks and song-perfect playing. Keyboardist is a great guitarist! So there are two great guitarists in the group? crazy! Love the tele tone versus firebird tone.... very interesting lines by the keyboardist playing guitar, very very clever to make the song unique. and the singer/bassist is, as always, herself, unique, not trying to be something she isn't, and excellent as always. Distinctly, and obviously, the beaches! I could hear this on radio and immediately hear the styles of the drummer, singer, and main guitarist, and the keyboardist's playing is, like the drummer's, very pop-friendly worked out and unique and consistent, while still having a punk edge. blown away
Love the scowling contemptuous looks on all of their faces; like it's just too much of a bother to put the effort in, but every note every inch of this performance is sold gold. Love love love it.
such talented girls ..just amazing how they bring this song to a new life...better than any of the major so called girl singers today ..thanks for posting
Porra! 🤘
Wow, she kinda looks Katie Holms. Anyway this song is awesome cover! I'm a huge fan of the Ronettes and will also be of this band, the Beaches!🎸🎸🎤🎶🎵❤🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
So many people seem to miss at least a few points re: this band doing this song. 1 - The song first came out before their parents were learning to walk. 2 - Sure, they put their own spin on the song. No one has to piss on their version. At least it is their version and did not attempt to duplicate the "wall of sound". Those of us that were there to hear the original do not need any help remembering that there is only one "Wall". I would much rather hear the ladies do this than to come out on stage nearly naked, covered in tats and piercings, and give us some kind of autotuned homogenized rap .
Great. I would love to hear a studio version. These outdoor concerts are fun to watch, but the quality of the recording suffers. Sorry I could not be there in person to hear this. Thanks.

Just no .
Seriously.... newer amazing band covering an older amazing song. That's pure gold
Love the original, HOWEVER the brunette singing lead with the growling Fender Precision is totally awesome. Resonates a dream girl I knew years ago but with a positive aura. Totally floors me and I don’t floor often. One great, inspiring performance.

You are SO right with everything you said here, well done!
I thought it rocked
I'm from Winnipeg canada and I discovered them mid August 2018
What about the guess who from Winnipeg canada?

I'm taking all my friends from Adelaide, South Australia and I'm moving to Canada ❤
You do realize you have the best cover band(s) on the planet there in hscc / sing it live :)
Let’s look at a few things here...

more or less.

4 girls rocking a pop classic
Love the bass .. Really bottoms out at the end .. Good job
The actual bass part of that song is way harder then what she plays but she really grooves with it
These young ladies are phenomenal! I love the sound of their guitar play.
Yeah, phenomenally BAD !
keeping the music alive, you go girls, forget the haters.
James Dukes yes! This is what it’s all about; the song gets passed on in a different genre that appeals to a more modern audience, and then people check back to the original, and voila the song stays alive as long as the cycle continues
The audio mix doesn't do them justice, but it is an enjoyable performance.
It was garbage….
Her bass almost cracked a rib..
Incredible low end and great vocals
I love this "pop punk" cover! It's great!
Wow. They absolutely killed this. What a great modern version of a classic song.
THEY ARE SO AWESOME!! What they did to this song is incredibly unique and so fun!
Why would anyone hate on 4 young ladies actually playing instruments and singing oldies?
I count 4!
i guess Im kind of randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to watch newly released series online?
@Micah Maxton lately I have been using FlixZone. Just search on google for it :)
@Lorenzo Zayd Yea, have been using FlixZone for months myself :)
@Lorenzo Zayd thank you, signed up and it seems to work :D I appreciate it !

Awesome ... Love the sound of the guitar ..
I wish I was there to see this concert in person, they sound and look so damn good! This cover is simply amazing, what a performance! Chills, so many chills
Wow wow wow!!! Amazing, gives a new life to an old classic, totally love it 💪💝
Fantastic!!
I love it! They play it with so much energy and passion, and like others on here have mentioned, they put their own stamp on it. I'm sure Ronnie approves 😎
Great cover! RIP Ronnie Spector.
just found this today, forget the haters.....love your music..keep on ladies...
Canada's Thin Lizzy! The duelling guitars! Fantastic stuff.
Really great... original voice, different to what we are used to listen nowadays, keep on way!!!
