She herself said that she did nothing besides contribute her vocal. I don't know what Bennett would have sounded like with a modern condenser mic and pre-amp and a little reverb and delay and a low-pass filter, etc. in the present-day, but on this record, her voice sounds weak and untrained. Bennett said that she trained her voice in the studio's ladies room; Spector should have run her voice through a reverb unit, at the least.
Even Phil Spector couldn't fail to give this the thumbs up and Ronnie Spector would have to salute the way the singer looks and sounds, a very good cover well done The Substitutes.
