Audi A6 C6 2.0 TFSI Timing Chain Without Removing Engine

How to replace the timing chain without taking the engine out?
Normally to get to the timing chain on Audi A6 C6 2.0 TFSI, the engine has to be taken out, but when I took off the oil sump/oil pan by lowering the subframe, I noticed there is enough space to get to the back of the engine where the timing chain is located.
IMPORTANT: when taking off the high-pressure fuel pump, release the pressure or it can cause injuries.
Why I wanted to get access and what is worth doing at the same time:
noticed some oil leaks at the back of the engine, replace gasket and vacuum pump seal
small pieces of orange plastic found in the oil sump, could be chain tensioner
chain tends to extend over time, if it is loose it can cause timing issues
camshaft seal rings, they wear over time causing problems with oil pressure and timing issues
the chain cover has a small strainer, that can get clogged over time, causing oil pressure issues, good to clean with ultrasonic cleaner
Most variable valve timing systems use hydraulic mechanisms. This means they need the right pressure of oil to work correctly. For the 2.0 TFSI engine, camshaft seal rings ensure the oil gets to the phase regulators.

Wissen über etwas Bestimmtes? Im Allgemeinen durch TH-cam-„How to“-Videos, einige Foren und Recherchen. Am Ende habe ich irgendwo ein Audi A6 C6 Service-Handbuch für 8 EUR gefunden, sodass ich nicht mehr nachschauen muss, wie viele Nm welcher Schraube zugeordnet sind - kann sagen, dass das gut investierte 8 EUR waren Ansonsten ein paar Experimente und das Ausprobieren, was funktioniert und was nicht. Ich versuche immer, vor dem Start zu recherchieren, da manchmal ein spezielles Werkzeug benötigt wird, und es wäre schlecht, das erst herauszufinden, nachdem man das halbe Auto auseinandergebaut hat 😅

Hello, there are 2 parts of timing, a belt in the engine front, and the chain is in the back, the chain suppose not to be changed but it can potentially extend and start to make rattle noises especially when starting engine when cold and there are also these 3 ring seals that wear out causing problems with oil pressure there

Why would you take all that other stuff apart??? You don't need to take the engine out or all that other stuff you did. Just remove the rear timing chain housing there's plenty of space to work!!? 😂😂😂

On audi a6 c6 plenty of space? There is close to zero space there and mechanics usually take the engine out, i have figured out how to make more space there by lowering suspension. Maybe you talk about some golf where the chain is on the side, not under the windshield?
