. We came to Tantangara before it became popular. No four drive just a rickety Toyota van. We were trout fishing and a ranger came in a dinghy to tell us if we didn’t leave in a week we would be snowed in and have to stay there for the month. Once our supplies ran out , we left. Best time of my life. We used firecrackers to scare away the wild dogs and there were a few low grunts. So glad we never saw a wild pig or razor back. We had a lot of trouts. A great time too. Back in 1996.
Hey mate, Quality video was just wondering what 4wd trail you take to get that spot there looks beautiful. I wanna take my son there sometime in the summer. Thanks
Hi Guys, Great video love your work if you don't mind me asking where did you guys camp on the river ? Looking at heading up that way with my old man for some fishing.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. We camped not far up river from where it enters the dam, but you need to take a 4wd track up and over the hills to get there. It is a beautiful spot 👌
Lovely video.
Just came back from filming there about 3 weeks ago myself.

Sounds like it was a great trip👍 I'm sure the fishing would have been much better back then
@@earthscapeimages5829 yes it was great. Now it’s to popular for me. As I don’t drive , I glad I had the experience
Amazing spot - just got back from there and doing some fishing on fly. We got around 15 Bows, kept three for the pan. Great video mate!!
Yeah its a top spot. I'm guessing the water level is a bit higher there now.
Oo yeh...wet wading to fish was a real big challenge, but it made all the catches more satisfying.
Spot any dingoes when you were up there?
Nah mate, no dingoes just plenty of brumbies
