Yes...you need one for every size shaft.. and no the holes are not standardized .. some props don't have any holes ..some 3 some 3 .. some none .. and the circle diameter varies ..best thing to do ..get 2 pieces of 3/4 plate .. cut one with a u shape to slide over the shaft and then drill holes for 3/4 inch threaded rod ..use the prop nut to protect the threads and pull
You need to get one for every prop shaft size only if you were in the repair business. If you own a vessel and want to have one on board for your particular situation that that is all you need.

I like the puller but dam, those props are no joke. Not to mention the motors it takes to spin um.
