@@arneysrackangast7140I have to agree . Remember when Kenny was a nobody? They'd go to him and get a funny 3 or 4 minute interview. It was entertaining and it killed some time. Then he got a 30 minute show and it was just too much. I couldn't watch him that long.

The problems go much further than just who is in the booth.
Fox's focus on comedy extends to the entire direction of the broadcast. The races end up looking juvenile, and the presentation is terrible, lacking important details they used to provide in their glory years. Where are all the animations they used to show viewers during key moments of the race?
They also miss many important moments throughout the race, often force feeding viewers the top 10, while ignoring what is happening throughout the rest of the field.
The "personalities" in the booth and trackside are horrible. Michael Waltrip's gridwalks are awkward, and seem to annoy drivers, and Bowyer is equally annoying in the booth.
People want Nascar coverage to be more serious and professional in tone, and that needs to happen from the top on down.

They need to keep Mike Joy around for now. He's really the best they have (outside of Reynolds, my fav presenter) until they have a suitable replacement. Honestly Adam Alexander is a decent replacement as long as they have someone to replace him in the lower series.
They need to let Bowyer go. I don't hate him, he brings a little bit of energy, but if I have to hear "hot rod" or any variation of it one more time I'm going to rip my hair out and his analysis is always half-wrong or borderline childish.
Lastly, the revolving door of announcers does get annoying, but I appreciate the Xfinity races when they bring in some of the cup guys to help commentate.

Ned Jarrett Benny Parsons and Bob Jenkins will forever be the best. They never played favorites and called it like they saw it and had such chemistry together. We are just lucky now to see the races. I bought a big satelite dish so my dad and myself could watch the races on Sunday together back before cable was ran all over our small town. Mike Joy is full of knowledge and brings a lot to the race. I'd like to see Dale Jarrett and Brad Daugherty in the booth. Kyle's [ let me say this ] 40 times a race is annoying but otherwise does a good job. Nbc just seem's like a 4 hr Hendrick commercial with jr and Burton's sudden girl screech's Slide Job and Latartes rambling on about Jeff Gordon and his time at Hendrick. Again though be thankful for the coverage. I still remember abc's wide world of sports that turned the daytona 500 into 15 minutes along with arm wrestling and women's swimming competition and tennis highlight's.

My age shows here, but I remember NASCAR on TNN. It wasn’t fancy, but it was straightforward calling of races by people who knew their stuff, not hand-picked yokels trying to be funny. They also didn’t show six minutes of commercials for every three or four minutes of racing either. The broadcasts on every network have become too gimmicky and too high dollar, and just aren’t enjoyable. People like Chris Economacki and Buddy Baker called races for the love of the sport, and they didn’t need endless gimmicks to do so. It’s possible that cutting back to broadcast basics might make for better viewing.

Larry Mac and Jamie Mac needs to be in the booth. If fox would do the NBC style booth, having Mike Joy and Larry Mac in one booth, and Jamie Mac and Kevin Harvick in another would be S tier. Harvick has play by play experience and could fill the Hybrid analyst role that Jr has, but in his own way, which would be amazing. I feel like this booth would surpass nbc’s. Clint can do pre race or the grid walk in place of Mikey

I overall do not like Rick Allen in the booth. Dale Jr and Mike Joy are fine in my opinion.
And for the love of GOD I can't stand the "ONE LAP TO GO BROUGHT TO YOU BY CREDIT ONE BANK!". . . Dude I could careless about that. It's one to go and a huge finish is coming up and then the hype gets thrown off by this random sponsorship call as the white flag is waved. It can ruin the moment for those watching. NOBODY CARES. Just call the race! They have so many banners and ads plastered all over the place it is honestly cluttering and overbearing to look at.
Their ads are better than their camera work now. I can't tell you how many times we have missed crucial wrecks or awesome passes due to bad camera work. Or missed a call because they are too busy shoving sponsorships down our throats.
When I see the white flag? All I and most likely many others wanna hear is "WHITE FLAG! ONE TO GO!" followed by an exciting call to the finish. The viewers don't want to hear ads. They want to hear the race. And I wanna see good camera work on the race. Not some enlarged ad taking up half the screen to where my eyes are more focused on advertisement more than the race.
They need to go back to their roots. Bring back what we all loved from the early 2000's era. The golden age. RIP Nascar on FOX.

I thought Clint Bowyer would have done a great job but he has proven that broadcasting is not his thing. Darrell did broadcast some events before FOX and so did Larry. Harvick is going to be good because he broadcasted some races. Clint never really had that experience before, and they want him to replace Darrell. I don't know why they want to do a rotating booth because it's unwelcome that they have different people in there. McMurray is one of the best of the bunch, Danica is too full of herself. They just lack consistency, and I don't like the superhero renderings and stuff either. I liked it when they had the driver photos and the computer animated cars they drove on the starting lineups, it was futuristic. I wish they would bring all that back. I liked FOX before they started all the stupid comedy routines, something happens and then the run with it and jam it down our throats.

These two things are pretty much mentioned everywhere but they need to be brought up again
The lack of replays of crashes I remember recently watching the Steven Wallace Michael Annette ir crash and ESPN apologizing for not having a good replay of the wreck but also mentioned it was the first one they'd missed all year it's not uncommon now for fox to not have replays or bad angles of multiple wrecks per race like somehow missing Harrison burtons and Blaine Perkins flips live and during covid I remember a crash they didn't even show a replay of till the next day and during 2021the xfinity darlington race the last lap crash they only showed one bad angle of the crash until the next year where they showed a different angle of it during the pre race
And of course the constant commercials during Vegas this year by my count they were averaging a commercial break every 7 laps that would last about 3 or 4 laps there have been times during NBCs portion of the season where I've found myself preparing/expecting commercials breaks after 10 laps or so because they show certain cameras angles that they also show before commercial and then they don't go to commercial till about 10 laps later
Fox is dang near unwatchable most of the time and really started in 2018 and they've been on a downward spiral ever since
Ps Allen Bestwick is overrated and I'd rather have adam Alexander replace mike joy

They got their panties in a wad when Spencer railed on them for fining Hamlin $25K for just saying the Gen 6 car needed a little more work. (For the record, I despise Hamlin, but NASCAR was out of line for that.) Then NASCAR pretty much blacklisted Jimmy from future programming.

Eric is very well informed on his stats and could be a good new look for FOX moving forward. plus, he seems to be pretty levelheaded and unbiased in most cases, which is something you really need in a professional environment like a TV broadcast

Correct, when your focus on the race is only about 30%, between all the Toyota commercials, then to the Toyota cut away car to show us what a rotor is, don't know why they don't show us the Chevy RO7 under the hood, to another caution for a gum wrapper or maybe another pathetic stage, so now we can give you a rundown on how the Toyota drivers are doing, yeah it is getting very hard to watch, it's not really about who's carrying it, since Toyota got controlling interest, it's been a rapid downhill tumble.

NASCAR is a dead stick! It has gotten waaayyy too corporate and has lost almost everything that made it popular back in the day. Back when NASCAR was dominating the viewership sports, you had larger than life drivers and the cars were every bit as big a star as were the drivers. You had the #3 GM GoodWrench Chevrolet, the #28 Texaco Havoline Ford, the #6 Valvoline Ford, the #24 DuPont Chevrolet, the #2 Miller Genuine Draft Pontiac/Ford, the #43 STP Pontiac.
The sponsors were iconic, the car numbers were iconic and both were tied to the iconic driver for years, sometimes even a career. Now, you have the ridiculous looking cars that they are trying to make as technical as F1 cars, something Nascar was never intended to be, with a single lug nut, idiotic placement of the door number and the fact that sponsors change almost every single week
. I won’t even go into the asinine points system. A points system that can reward a driver that is wildly inconsistent that either wins or wrecks/blows up every week. Win one and you are in, get on a lucky hot streak, hello title. All the original points system needed was to give a 15 point bonus for winning, and bump the points for second and third up by 10 points. That would have stopped the sandbagging strategy of the 90’s and would have forced drivers in the top 5 or 10 to race hard because the point for 1st, 2nd and third would have been so valuable you wouldn’t be able to afford to sandbag. This garbage they have now is cartoonish.
Now for the drivers themselves. This polished corporate crap is so freaking boring! The Allison’s the Earnhardts the Labonte’s carried a swagger that was earned and the fans loved them for it. These drivers now days, you can just tell that they’ve never had to work on a car even once because, daddy paid people to work on them. Not blaming them for it but, it takes away something from who they are and the fans can smell it a mile away.

    FOX has two main problems:
First...Directors who choose shots unrelated to what is being said by the booth talent. Second ... NBC's booth talent. The most popular personality in NASCAR today and two of his real life good friends. LaTarte, Burton and Junior have been friends for years. You can't fake or hope to create that chemistry. They aren't just the best NASCAR broadcast team, they are among the best doing motorsports anywhere........It's pretty tough for FOX to look anything but a little shabby when competing against the best. ...but get a new director guys.

Rick Allen on the NBC broadcasts makes mistakes quite often, mixing up driver names and such. Wish they would get rid of him. As for Adam Alexander (Mister Hands In His Pocket while rocking back and forth), he acts stupid on Race Hub. I think he fancies himself as a comedian.

Off topic since it’s about the other half of the year, but I go a bit nuts with the NBC crew. Burton, Letartte & Jr start sounding the same. I feel about Burton the way some do about Bowyer. He never shuts up, and a lot of the time he’s not contributing anything useful. They are all hyper and talk over each other.
I’m really looking forward to Harvick getting in the booth. He does great, along with Blaney, when they cover Xfinity races. Rick Alan is my favorite of the color commentators. I would like Bestwick to go to Cup. Alan, Rick & Kevin would be a great trio.

Mike Joy was at his best when doing the NASCAR broadcasts on the old TNN, especially when paired with Buddy Baker. The whole FOX deal is punch it up. It's like they're trying to make a big clown show from start to finish. Michael Waltrip is the biggest clown in the broadcast. I'm not saying they can't have a little fun, but nothing is worse than people that think they're funny when they're just plain silly.

The TV coverage of Nascar has been lacking for years. The announcers are stale as an old bag of Ruffles Potato Chips. The problem with all coverage of auto racing is the people in charge of the productions do not know the first thing about covering a race. They all have been going with the same boring format for years. Too many onboard camera shots. Can't hardly hear the engines, which for me is a big part of the excitement. They do not cover the crashes or the aftermath of a crash correctly. People in the stands see all of it, so why can't the TV viewer? Why have the best audio equipment around if it's going to be a waste of time trying to set up the audio to hear the beautiful sound of a race car engine. The commentators, you can hear them all too well. In fact, wouldn't it be a good idea to not have any commentators at all? Maybe just to hear the track announcer as Flo Racing does. I feel with the coverage we have had now for, about the past 50 years that it is highly the reason why the sport of auto racing is lacking in popularity. Until the people in charge of the way they present a race to us TV viewers (what is left of them, because I don't watch it anymore), the sport of auto racing will continue to decline. Best thing going today is Flo Sports and Dirt Vision.
