In the Philippines our version of that tender wild fern shoots called fiddleheads are bright green in color. Your purple version is simply beautiful . I might use it first as a floral arrangement before cooking it. Then I'll tell my guests , let me prepare dinner , pick some up from the vase to take to the kitchen. I love fiddle head ferns sautéed in butter. I haven't seen this specific fern before and I'm intrigued by the spices and flavors you each use. I love popping black mustard seed in tempering.

I didn't know this is to be cook as food because in my country back then we only play this ,yes we have a lot like this of fern we use this as decoration if we have an especial party such as birthdays, weddings or schools celebrations a lot different fern I my country actually .. Here in Alaska we have a fern that looks almost like that but much smaller. It's called the fiddlehead fern and it tastes great sauteed in butter and garlic.
We have them here in Vancouver too. Have to be careful how much we harvest, because they’re young plants and we need to let them grow, and not kill the vegetation fully.
Same in our place in the Philippines...we don't eat that kind/variety of fern coz it's poisonous. And I didn't see these guys actually putting those ferns in their mouths especially the 2 young girls.....I just saw the young man put some in his plate and he tried to eat one but the cam was cut right away.... because of that, sorry to say that I am not still convinced that it's edible. I think they just picked those ferns and cooked it for vlogging purposes.
Read the description. It's edible Shri Lankan called this Karan koku and they make recipes. It's also called Golden leather fern and acrostichum aureum. This one is different from fiddlehead but probably edible why would she make recipes if it's not edible and mislead her viewers.
The French Canadians eat these!! We call them “Fiddle Heads” and they grow in the river valleys and it is difficult to wash all of the dirt and sand out of them!😊

I didn't know this is to be cook as food because in my country back then we only play this ,yes we have a lot like this of fern we use this as decoration if we have an especial party such as birthdays, weddings or schools celebrations a lot different fern I my country actually .. We call it 'pakpako' here in Ilocos, Philippines They are found mostly on near the wet area like pond or river but are smaller than in your country.
Those are different ones. We also have them in our North East India.
In northeast India Assam we says dhikia and I'm Nepali We says nigrow

Here in Alaska we have a fern that looks almost like that but much smaller. It's called the fiddlehead fern and it tastes great sauteed in butter and garlic.

We have lots of this wild spiral but we didn't eat thinking its poisonous.... Its amazing to watch how you guys cook and eat❤❤
Same in our place in the Philippines...we don't eat that kind/variety of fern coz it's poisonous. And I didn't see these guys actually putting those ferns in their mouths especially the 2 young girls.....I just saw the young man put some in his plate and he tried to eat one but the cam was cut right away.... because of that, sorry to say that I am not still convinced that it's edible. I think they just picked those ferns and cooked it for vlogging purposes.

Read the description. It's edible Shri Lankan called this Karan koku and they make recipes. It's also called Golden leather fern and acrostichum aureum. This one is different from fiddlehead but probably edible why would she make recipes if it's not edible and mislead her viewers.
