I heard that this movie had the original screenplay thrown out, because it involved a couple of Teens getting stranded on the island after a plane crash, then they meet a hermit in a treehouse who turns out to be Alan Grant, having snuck onto the island to study the dinosaurs in their natural habitat, which was immediately rejected after Joe Johnston said "it felt like a bad episode of Friends." Lol! So the script was being written while filming had commenced. The teens getting stranded on the island was the basis for JURASSIC WORLD: Camp Cretaceous.
Love the spinosaurus' expression during the reunion scene. Probably my most favorite scene in the entire movie both because of realization of what was going on and a little bit of comic relief
The fences were also shored up for that scene, no spaces in the fencing other than that random hole that a fairly small dinosaur made by doing exactly what the spinosaurus did to get through it.

11:49 I agree. Regardless which side of the old arguement. You got to admit, this fight sequence was the best of the Jurassic franchise ever made and a piece of what we want. Not human fighting over human things but seeing the animals themselves. Doing what is natural to them and seeing them brought to life on the screen.
@@Alteori Did you know. While they were making this fight scene. They were using animatronics, but the spinosaurus accidentally rip the head off of the T-rex animatronic. Go to show you how dangerous these animatronics are if not used properly.
My only real problem with the scene is that I wish it was a bit longer and it had more build up to it. Heres an interesting fact about the jurassic park 3 t-rex, originally, they planned on the fight between it and the spinosaurus, starting with their animatronics roaring at one another before the fight would have been initiated with the spinosaurus swiping its claws at the tyrannosaurus face. They originally planned on shooting the scene with the animatronics and if you look at the original official trailer and behind the scenes footage you can still see shots of the machines interacting with one another. However it worked too effectively as the spinosaurus animatronic swiped the t-rex animatronic so hard it literally decapitated and destroyed the machine. The scene at the end of the released fight with the spinosaurus animatronic standing over the t-rex, was shot using the severed t-rex animatronic head at the base of the spinosaurus animatronic.
That explains the rex having no body in one frame before the roar also its a very strong point in why a spino swiping at prey would be quite a strong weapon, i mean boxers punch very hard with hooks think mike tyson or george foreman so what would a spino be capable of...

Same here it was a vastly different turn in the series considering it's even today the only Jurassic park that doesn't focus at some point with a park and th jungle theme all the way through feels much better
Yeah, they changed the design of the velociraptors during this film 'cause that's when paleontologists started to believe that dinosaurs are more closely related to birds than reptiles. I remember that notion turning my world upside down 'cause I had been obsessed with dinosaurs since before I turned 2. Hehe. I'm glad to see that you love them as much as I do. 😁
To this very day, Jurassic Park 3 has been a favourite of mine even through childhood, depicting the Spinosaurus as the antagonist than the T-rex as presented from the two prior films and helped further inform viewers of many other possible dangerous carnivores that are similar in ferocity to the T-rex. Watching how the Spinosaurus interacted with the cast showed a sense of intelligence, seeing them as a form of entertainment and challenge from its natural habit, depicting certain behaviours from observation, perception, interaction, chase, reproach and possibly more, which is 1 reason this film holds a place in my heart. When re-watching the film I always get annoyed by the female character (Amanda) for doing the opposite of what others say and not clearly thinking about the situation in its entirety, but they were clearly trying to show some kind of growth with her character within the story and in all likely hood of the character itself 'Amanda' may not have been in a situation that could risk the safety of herself and others, like when camping or hunting in places with a plethora of possible threats and incidents. I myself have not personally read the original book, but someday I hope that could be a possibility when the chance arises, but a fond memory that myself and my parents remember from the 1st Jurassic film, is that in the cinema, when the lawyer was getting eaten by the T-rex, you hear a little child scream out, 'GO T-REX GO!' causing the entire cinema audience to laugh.... that child was me... I didn't like the lawyer, since he was quite rude and I was cheering for the T-rex when he got eaten 'sorry, not sorry'
Yeah, Udesky's death got me too. First Eddie, then Udesky. I'd say their death's got me the most in the franchise, I always thought that was one sneaky Spinosaur when no one heard it sneak up on them when Alan and Eric reunited with the group and the phone goes off
I just realized that Dr. Grant telling the little kid about how the carnivores fight each other was foreshadowing the fight between the rex and the spino. Dude, I've watched that final scene with the raptors so many times. It's one of my favorite scenes in the franchise. Another great video. :) Thanks, Alteori.
Another foreshadowing I noticed a few days ago is that in the plane Billy said about his lucky bag and that it saved him because it got stuck on the edge of a cliff he was falling. In Billy's 'death' scene the paraglider got hung up on the rocks which slowed him down a lot allowing the pteranodons to close up on him.
8:25, Alan starts freaking out, trying to tell them that landing on the island is a very bad idea and suicidal, as well, as Alan tries to tell them it's a dangerous place to be.
Thank you for explaining the Raptor Flute Scene--not many Critics get the concept behind that scene, like, ever. Not even the Nostalgia Critic got the idea--he was too busy complaining about everything, lol.
It's actually shown that when the plane was trying to take off to get away from the spine of sores they actually clipped its spin, You can see when the blood spatters on the windshield. He's upset About them injuring him so hes been chasing them across God knows how far. I didn't catch on about the raptors waiting to see if help would actually come- so that's really cool!
Movie you should for sure watch is Prince of Egypt. It’s a MASTERPIECE, the story, acting, singing and action is to DIE FOR. Best Dreamworks movie ever!
This was my first and favorite Jurassic Park movie. The Spinosaurus is soo damn cool looking and sounds scary as hell plus the raptors animatronics look highly detailed
Ok Alteori, If I didn't know better I'd swear you planned that comment about Elly wanting Allen to thank her in person while her husband watches on purpose just as I was taking a drink. I darn near choked and laughed to death all at once. Please keep the vids coming, Great stuff as always.
Most people don’t like this movie, but I like it a lot. Of course it’s not the best, but it’s good. Spino is one of my favorite dinos. Plus this movie is so memeable, lol.
Honestly the movie has some great ways to get rid of plot holes 1: the raptors climbing the door is seen using the holes while the tree is too smooth 2: we see after closing the door on the spino the building was next to a cliff explaining why it didn't just ram the building down 3: the pre mentioned t Rex urine explains why the carnotauras left them alone
As much of a developmental nightmare JP3 is, I can’t help but still like it. I liked seeing all the old InGen structures and the air of mystery surrounding Isla Sorna. The movie also has my personal favorite versions of the velociraptors. The Spinosaurus was not too shabby either.
Honestly this was my favorite in the franchise- and I know I'm in the minority but consider this- Relatable characters in a relatable situation rather than millionaires and workers in obscure fields in a situation that we can't relate to at all but... well it sure looks cool. The dinosaurs actually fight, which we all wanted to see from the beginning No- that's right, none- no lectures about how we shouldn't do things we can't do anyway. JP always had this problem of dubious applicability to real life.
The reason why this wasn't so popular was because of the death of rexy, trex through the years was something of a hero for people. I'm actually over that now but l am now mad about the fight being to short
This movie is still good even though people say it had to many problems, your right it still holds up. I also didn’t notice billy plotting Alan’s demise so thank you alteori for pointing that out for us. very appreciated

Then again Rexy came out of nowhere to kill that Raptor in the first film!" 22:27 - "I personally don't get why people hate the kid characters to the point of wanting to see them die! I also like how JP3 is the first Jurassic Park film without a human villain even though it is so satisfying to watch them die!"
Man this movie had so much going on behind the seens. Quills on raptors, script being thrown out, animatronic Rex getting wrecked, jack horner going strong on his rex hatred, a wild ride both on screen and off.
I love your reviews so much! They're just so fun! It's not like others where the reviewer is too serious about the whole thing. You give great feedback, enjoyment of the corny parts, and we'll timed humor. I wish more were like you.
THANK YOU!!! I'm so glad to see with the last bit of this video that I'm not the only person that doesn't get the lack of blood when the Indo Raptor tears the dudes arm off! Like dude lost an arm. That should be a fountain of blood.
9:55 Apparently there's a theory going about that the reason Cooper came out looking like that, is because the other security guard shot him, and left him behind after seeing the Spinosaurus. The Spino is too big to have left behind such small wounds. On the arm. If it bit or scratched him at all, it would have removed a chunk out of him. And right before the others appear bullet sounds can be heard. He is currently missing his gun so it could have been the other guy who did so. And he did all that so he would have enough time to board and leave in the plane, if Spino had time to eat a little snack.
The fight scene with spino vs trex made me fall in love with the JP spino, that thing is terrifying, and has the best design imo aside from the jp3 raptors
This movie felt very hallmark-ish to me even as I watch it nowadays. It's not (and never is) a bad movie by not a single means but it honestly feels like is the hallmark channel asked universal to make a JP movie. also it's so odd how this movie is literally only an hour and a half when they other movies in the franchise are all 2 hours long.
That is true. I think that they should have added a sequence with the Ankylosaurus since this was it's first appearance in the series. Ooooorrrrr maybe have the ceratosaurus being a minor antagonist instead of using it for one freaking scene.
@@chaosthebaryonyx6344 I agree to that. I just wish that JP3 could've showed us more of the dinosaurs like maybe a solo scene of the spino or a scene with the ceratosaurus by itself or maybe a scene where the spino chases after some of the herbivores on the grassland after the boat went through.
I don’t give a thousands craps about what the critics say about this movie. This is by far my favourite Jurassic Park movie ever made and I hate the fact ever since this movie it gave birth to one of the most toxic Dino fanboys ever made. T-Rex fanboys are the absolute worst they tell lies about T-Rex and thinks its so strong that nothing could kill it. I absolutely adore Jurassic Park 3 and I’ll still love it to this day, I do love all the JP & JW movies including dominion because I love dinosaurs.
Despite the fact that according to science nowadays, a Tyrannosaurus is almost always the most likely victor in a 1 on 1 fight with any other megatheropod (though this conclusion is partially due to it being studied better), I do appreciate what this film tried to do. It introduced an alternate giant theropod threat, and they clearly put a lot of effort into it's design. It had an excellent colour scheme and sound deisgn, making it distinct as a good rival to the T.rex. And people forget that from the late 90s up until the mid 2010s, it really was a free-for all among the giant theropods. You had Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, Mapusaurus, Tyrannotitan, Saurophaganax, even some like Torvosaurus were considered to be potential threats to the notorious T.rex. Not to mention Tarbosaurus, one of T.rex's own cousins And then we have Spinosaurus. If you look at some theropod size comparisons from that era, you can clearly see why they chose this creature for T.rex's nemesis. From its striking appearance, it's colossal forelimbs (a weakspot for the rex) and the fact that T.rex was estimated around 40ft. Spino was estimated at 60ft. Of course, this isn't really the case anymore, but I must admit, I found it much more interesting when these creatures all had there own strengths, rather than "this dinosaur thin and dumb, T.rex have wide ribcage and rostrum, T.rex win!!!!11!!!"
At the beginning of the film: *everyone is attacked by a huge spinosaurus on the shore of the island* Kirby later in the movie: "Eric probably figures that all the big dinosaurs are at the center of the island."

I'd say their death's got me the most in the franchise,
I always thought that was one sneaky Spinosaur when no one heard it sneak up on them when Alan and Eric reunited with the group and the phone goes off
I am glad she covered the very strange topic of Allen's relationship.
26:58 imma be honest
You raise a good point
When she said "The red one has to be the guy and the one on the left has to be his Bitch" l burst out laughing after.
20:30 spineo: You have. A voicemail
(this was from the nostalgia critic review of this movie)
Movie you should for sure watch is Prince of Egypt. It’s a MASTERPIECE, the story, acting, singing and action is to DIE FOR. Best Dreamworks movie ever!
My beloved Spinosaurus soon you will have your moment once more in the spotlight
This was my favorite movie out of the entire franchise
The t rex vs spinosaurus fight is the best scene in the movie.
This Jurassic Park movie is my personal favorite of the first 3. The Spinosaurus was the highlight of this whole movie. 👁👁
I’m so glad that Ellie and Allan are together again during and after Jurassic world: dominion. They were perfect for each other.
10:08* that shocked me when I saw that!
Me too 😆
Are you now kind of reviewing the jurassic movies and rating them 😀
I rated them a long while ago but people wanted me to put up the adventure review 😜
Oh my favorite is Jurassic park because it's the ORIGINAL REXY
@@Alteori omg I love you so much your voice takes us all back to our childhood thank you 😁😁😇😇😇 God Bless you Alteroi 😇😇🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️
Most people don’t like this movie, but I like it a lot. Of course it’s not the best, but it’s good. Spino is one of my favorite dinos. Plus this movie is so memeable, lol.
Honestly the movie has some great ways to get rid of plot holes
1: the raptors climbing the door is seen using the holes while the tree is too smooth
2: we see after closing the door on the spino the building was next to a cliff explaining why it didn't just ram the building down
3: the pre mentioned t Rex urine explains why the carnotauras left them alone
Best dino action in the franchise
Definitly
I’m really glad that camp Cretaceous brought me back into the Jurassic Park scene. I really missed it. Jurassic Park for life!
The reunion scene always has me thinking of Nostalgia Critics "You have a voicemail" line in his video for this movie. It's always hilarious.
As much of a developmental nightmare JP3 is, I can’t help but still like it. I liked seeing all the old InGen structures and the air of mystery surrounding Isla Sorna. The movie also has my personal favorite versions of the velociraptors. The Spinosaurus was not too shabby either.
YES my first jurassic park movie ever with my favorite dinosaur spinosaurus I really have nostalgia for this movie.
The Nostalgia Critic was heartbroken when the T Rex got it's neck snapped.
💀💀
I think this is the first Jurassic Park film I ever watched (think I was about 3-5 ish) and I love this movie beyond words.
I just love this movie due to the sheer madness.
One of the best parts of this movie is the raptors their designs behaviours and intelligence
Yes someone else who likes this movie
Definitely my most enjoyable watch in the JP series,so that's pretty awesome
"You can get close, but not too close! You don't want to be eaten"
Me: Famous last words
(these scenes speak for itself, literally.)
Honestly this was my favorite in the franchise- and I know I'm in the minority but consider this-
Relatable characters in a relatable situation rather than millionaires and workers in obscure fields in a situation that we can't relate to at all but... well it sure looks cool.
The dinosaurs actually fight, which we all wanted to see from the beginning
No- that's right, none- no lectures about how we shouldn't do things we can't do anyway.
Jurassic Park 3. Yay, I watched this on theater when it debuted. Bought it on dvd as well. I love this episode. This and the Lost World are my favorites. I do love the dino fight scenes. Another awesome Jurassic Park review video.
Anyway, another great video, Alteori, I like it, see you in the next one.
2:46, audience members got the shit scared out of them.
nice video! The Spinosaurus is the one who attacks the boat at the beginning. You can here a splash before the boat goes into the fog followed by waves hitting the boat.
11:18, William H Macy said, "We got our asses rolled in that plane." Lol!
*The following are the musings of a Salty SEAGULL named EARL who just shows up in my posts whenever he feels like it!*
[EARL the Salty SEAGULL:] 7:30 - "Who doesn't love the JP3 Dream Velociraptor scene?! It's so iconic & memeable!" 20:31 - "Dang, that Spinosaurus sure is stealthy for such a big dinosaur!
As a kid I really wanted to have that velociraptor resonating chamber and I still do as an adult! LoL!😆
The fact you said like they're Autobots or Decepticons makes me happy lol.
20:32 spino was like: Hello, Is it me you’re looking for?
I love all your videos. Because of you I have started writing a lot of fan fiction and my own stories. So thank you for giving me my spark back
The fight scene with spino vs trex made me fall in love with the JP spino, that thing is terrifying, and has the best design imo aside from the jp3 raptors
This franchise made me love the Brachiosarus
This movie felt very hallmark-ish to me even as I watch it nowadays. It's not (and never is) a bad movie by not a single means but it honestly feels like is the hallmark channel asked universal to make a JP movie. also it's so odd how this movie is literally only an hour and a half when they other movies in the franchise are all 2 hours long.
Mmm you have a point
That is true. I think that they should have added a sequence with the Ankylosaurus since this was it's first appearance in the series. Ooooorrrrr maybe have the ceratosaurus being a minor antagonist instead of using it for one freaking scene.
@@chaosthebaryonyx6344 I agree to that. I just wish that JP3 could've showed us more of the dinosaurs like maybe a solo scene of the spino or a scene with the ceratosaurus by itself or maybe a scene where the spino chases after some of the herbivores on the grassland after the boat went through.
I'm literally crying because it's one week from now when Jurassic World 3 Dominion comes to theaters near me
I don’t give a thousands craps about what the critics say about this movie.
Not to mention Tarbosaurus, one of T.rex's own cousins
And then we have Spinosaurus.
This is like those movie recaps but without tnat narrative voice, lol refreshing
I really think you should do a video on Dinsey’s Dinosaur (2000) if you haven’t already. It’s such a sweet film and I’m sure you’d like it
I love it when you where basically fan girling over the dinosaur designs and the male/female difference because I feel the same way
I loved the Spinosaurus and the Ceratosaurus, and the Raptors, they pass by like ghost in a horror movie lol
Billy: Plays resonating chamber like an ocarina
Alan: *_Vietnam Flashbacks Intensify_*
This is probably the best way you can describe the Spinosaurus! Hahaha!
Something new I learned 😌
Dr.Grant is a CHAD!!!!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly my best memory of this film was watching it while sheltered in a VA hospital with my parents during Katrina
"You think your prettier than me" hahahahahaha
23:50, my favorite sauropod, Brachiosaurus. I repainted a 2012 Carnegie Collection Brachiosaurus to look like this one.
At the beginning of the film: *everyone is attacked by a huge spinosaurus on the shore of the island*
Kirby later in the movie: "Eric probably figures that all the big dinosaurs are at the center of the island."
