    Hello, today my father and I bought a cheap computer from the flea market. I want to use this computer for Win XP gaming. I have never used Windows XP in my life (because I wasn't even born at that time lol). The computer we bought does not have a graphics card. I want to upgrade this computer in the cheapest way. I am writing the features here.
    mobo:Biostar P4M900-M4
    cpu:intel celeron 2.26ghz
    ram: single slot DDR2 667 Mhz
    psu:300w
    Also, how do I install the drivers? Should I connect the computer to the internet? Frankly, I don't want to download antivirus or anything on the computer. It is already very slow in its current state. I only have 16GB flash memory. What should I do? What do you recommend?

      Upgrades I can think of are getting the best processor my motherboard supports.Max out my rams (DDR2 4GB) and i will probably get gt 9600 or equivalent.But im not sure about the driver installation i dont know how to do that also i have a monitor that have built int speakers so i want to use that.How should i setup my monitor?

      @user-lg3vs5nu4p Hi there. How nice to hear that you experiment on Windows XP. If you want that computer for gaming, you should get a little upgrade. The ones you have mentioned will be enough, though, for light games. For easier driver lookup and installation, I would suggest installing the 32-bit version of Windows XP over the 64-bit one. And to easily install drivers for your hardware there, I suggest using DriverPack Solution and trying to download the full offline installer on an external HDD or flash drive (you need to do this on another computer with internet) driverpack.io/en/info/driverpack-offline
      As for the built-in speaker on your monitor, it should work after you get all drivers installed. (Assuming your monitor still function normally)

      @@anywow What do you think I should buy as a CPU? Can you recommend one according to my motherboard? should i hook up gtx 750 ti or rx 570 (I also want to use these cards in the main computer when I need them for windows 10) for this pc too?

      @@KilinkTanrısı Honestly I'm no expert in this. Please refer to these for supported CPU you can install for your motherboard:
      - Biostar P4M900-M4 6.2 processor support and specifications: www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Biostar/P4M900-M4_6.2.html
      - CPU Support: www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/eol/introduction.php?S_ID=402&data-type=CPU%20SUPPORT
      The fastest you can get is an Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor.
      As for the GPU (graphic card), you can install any GPU that has PCIe x16, and GeForce GTX 750 Ti is also connected to motherboard using a PCI-Express x16 interface, and it has Windows XP driver, so you can use it. You may need to look at your power supply the second time and make sure it will be stable to accommodate the upgrade.

      If you want the nostalgia and can still do most things online, it's worth your time.

    Is that AVG version able to deal with contemporary hacker attacks?
    I plan on building/rebuilding a semi-retro tower like yours to play old games without an emulator, so I'm kinda curious if connecting to the Web while using Win XP is a good idea.
    Great video btw. Loving the rig!

    • @anywow
      @anywow  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NympoGaming Yes. The basic AVG protections are the PC protection from viruses and web protection for surfing the web. For complete protection I'm going to buy a pro license.
      I would say it's safe enough to do most things on the web on Windows XP as my AVG and Symantec browser extension will always block suspicious websites and tell me the reasons why. My AVG often blocks url blacklists when I'm online. Also my script extension will block dangerous scripts on the web. As for online transactions I will still use my phone or Windows 10 tablet, just to be safe.
      Thanks man 😊. Good luck building your XP tower 👍

      @NympoGaming 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@anywow That's great news then! Transactions is definitely something I won't be using the pc for, but let's say there's a very old multiplayer game with active playerbase, well, in this case Internet connection is pretty much paramount. That and some initial tweaking after installation. It'll basically serve as a gaming console for titles from 1998-2011-ish.
      Anyway thanks for the fast reply! Your answer gave me even more motivation to roll up my sleeves and build it.

      @@NympoGaming 👍👍 It's great to have someone else with the same interest. There are some online multiplayer games that can still run on XP. Yea man, roll up your sleeves and get to work. Don't hesitate to throw a video link of your rig later here, I'd love to see that 😉

      It sounds cool. But it will reduce the feeling of nostalgia when using it.
