So she stopped fighting the system and decided to work as many hours as she could. She saved money, bought land back home, bought and bought and bought. The good thing she was able to go home for holidays while she was here. She saved so much. She said is home. She had set up her mind and just worked towards making her money and going back home to do her own thing. She lived in shared accommodation and never had even a saucepan she made it a point not to buy things here except essentials. All her money went into preparing for her departure.

I think the main problem is that immigrants especially international students don’t understand the difference between “you may be granted and you would be granted.” No country in the world would say international students would be granted PR after they finish their studies. This spirit of sense of entitlement needs to be overcome to bring lasting solution. If you study a course where PGWP is offered after graduation and you couldn’t get into the pool for PR, it’s not Canada’s fault cos PR isn’t guaranteed just because you spent money to study in Canada. Those adverts of students getting PR in Canada are from agents and not IRCC. It’s agents that wants to make money that are hyping or sweet talking international students. No country in the world would say PR is guaranteed 100% for international students. It’s sense of entitlement that makes people think like this. The asylum thing is cast already cos you can’t just seek asylum as a student whether during or after your study. Asylum isn’t for students and they know you’re lying when you seek asylum. People just have to be realistic and stop spending huge amount of money to study abroad with the intention of getting PR. Canada has been doing this because they’re also making money from international students but right now, it’s backfiring and they need to amend and unfortunately, international students are the scapegoats but it’s what it is. I researched THOROUGHLY about how to achieve it before coming, so when I landed I acted accordingly and seized the opportunity when it availed itself. Thats the simple truth. I interned for Immigration Dept in Australia and we cooperated a lot with US, Canada, UK, NZ & Ireland. I can 100% say they have granular data on who is in, where they are from, who has overstayed etc. We have tax agreements with Canada and when you make a request to Canada they have all the info. The reason Marc Miller won’t divulge the information is for political reasons. It’s a no win situation and in this heated environment imagine if he gave a breakdown of the number of Nigerians, Indians, Chinese he will put those communities at huge risk. I am already in the pool since July, 2024, with primary occupation of pharmacy assistant and my crs is 490. To my surprise, i was not issued Invitation to Apply ( ITA) mail for November 20,2024 healthcare category based draw of crs 463. I wrote to ircc on the 21st of November,2024 to complain, but i didn't get any concrete response. They replied me on the 22nd of November,2024 and said that they verified everything that I said and my application is still in the process. Since then, no ITA. It was yesterday that i edited my profile and change my country of residence to Canada, because i entered the pool while in Nigeria before i moved to Canada for my master degree in medical biotechnology program in September,2024. I did this with the assumption that maybe they are considering those in Canada.

You should blame the recruiting schools who promised them heaven and earth to collect their money. Also, those questions for the minister were nonsense. Temp visa holders can apply for PR streams or refugee claims when their visas expire and per process, the govt must review their applications and give an answer. As such, it will be difficult to give an accurate figure like the questioner requested. If you truly understood how the various immigrations offices work, you will understand how difficult it is to provide the requested data. It managed to build buildings faster, improved salaries, transport everything. Qatar reached an extent that your hire card could pay for you transport where I go in Qatar. Each spectator condo had a bus waiting in shifts , etc but after world cup many workers were deported back home, salaries were cut, companies collapsed but remember these companies and businesses were for investors. Many people went to study short courses in Qatar because by then salaries were high but now many finished courses but no jobs and salaries dropped yet they invested more in such courses. Now jobs available need many years of experience and more certificates yet it was vice versa during world cup
Canada had a labour shortage as most of their population were becoming boomers and their population was not increasing. So they opened their doors for this reason. The problem was that people took/are taking advantage of loopholes within the immigration programs to stay in the country after stating they would only be here temporarily. People who are coming in all want to stay in certain provinces. Also, due to policies, housing and other necessities aren’t increasing at the same rate as the population, leading to shortages across board. Reason why they want people who shouldn’t be here to leave.

I am already in the pool since July, 2024, with primary occupation of pharmacy assistant and my crs is 490. To my surprise, i was not issued Invitation to Apply ( ITA) mail for November 20,2024 healthcare category based draw of crs 463. I wrote to ircc on the 21st of November,2024 to complain, but i didn't get any concrete response. They replied me on the 22nd of November,2024 and said that they verified everything that I said and my application is still in the process. Since then, no ITA. It was yesterday that i edited my profile and change my country of residence to Canada, because i entered the pool while in Nigeria before i moved to Canada for my master degree in medical biotechnology program in September,2024. I did this with the assumption that maybe they are considering those in Canada.

I’m sorry but I do not agree with your points. Canada never promised international students anything. You should blame the recruiting schools who promised them heaven and earth to collect their money. Also, those questions for the minister were nonsense. Even the US with all their gra gra cannot give an answer. Temp visa holders can apply for PR streams or refugee claims when their visas expire and per process, the govt must review their applications and give an answer. As such, it will be difficult to give an accurate figure like the questioner requested. What’s going on in Canada is not racism but rather people are annoyed that the system lets in people who do not want to assimilate into the system and go with the current culture of the country. I’m an immigrant as well but that Diwali nonsense in Walmart was not it nor are the celebrations that cause issues to residents. If you truly understood how the various immigrations offices work, you will understand how difficult it is to provide the requested data. Also, there’s no way the minister would have detailed his plan on how to get people to leave the country. Yes, there are issues with the immigration system but most of those issues actually stemmed from the conservative government who mostly introduced the current system. So they have to leg to stand on with those questions.
Also, to your point, Canada has always had racist undertones. However, having been here longer than you have and seen the change in both the country and the economy with the new immigrants, you would definitely understand where people are coming from.

It managed to build buildings faster, improved salaries, transport everything. Qatar reached an extent that your hire card could pay for you transport where I go in Qatar. Each spectator condo had a bus waiting in shifts , etc but after world cup many workers were deported back home, salaries were cut, companies collapsed but remember these companies and businesses were for investors. Many people went to study short courses in Qatar because by then salaries were high but now many finished courses but no jobs and salaries dropped yet they invested more in such courses. Now jobs available need many years of experience and more certificates yet it was vice versa during world cup

Canada had a labour shortage as most of their population were becoming boomers and their population was not increasing. So they opened their doors for this reason. The problem was that people took/are taking advantage of loopholes within the immigration programs to stay in the country after stating they would only be here temporarily. People who are coming in all want to stay in certain provinces. Also, due to policies, housing and other necessities aren’t increasing at the same rate as the population, leading to shortages across board. Reason why they want people who shouldn’t be here to leave.
THE PLAN IS JUST TO REDUCE A LITTLE BIT OF PEOPLE COMING IN FOR THE TIME BEING AND THEN STEP IT UP AFTERWARDS
