As someone who is colorblind. I would like to say that almost none of you are right. Red-Green colorblind doesn't actually mean you ALWAYS mix up red and green. For most, it is when the colors are more subtle like a faded green and red. but mostly it means that we can't see as much of the red/green colors in secondary and tertiary colors. For example, dark blue looks like a purple because purple-red=blue.
i know you understand what you're talking about, but i want to elaborate further for anyone who might read this!
the way colorblindness works is that the cones in the eye (responsible for color vision-- rods are responsible for light sensitivity) don't detect certain light frequencies properly. as we know, different colors have different light frequencies. each cone has photopigments that are responsible for detecting the different frequencies. if one or more pigment is missing or defective, it causes colorblindness. for example, in deuteranomaly (the most common type) the green cone pigment is defective and the green light frequency is detected as something closer to red, but it's still perceived as being something different from red itself. it also affects the way the color yellow is perceived.
color blind tests are specifically designed to exacerbate any color detecting problems one might have, as many of them can go unnoticed depending on how severe the defect is. the dots in the pictures are giving off numerous light frequencies, even in the same color family, which confuses the eye of a person who has missing or defective photopigments. and because the letters or numbers are drawn out with dots of ranging colors, there's no clear outline to separate the message from the background. jack says in the video that he can tell that something is supposed to be there but he can't determine what it is, which is common for people with a mild photopigment defect to report. some colorblind people can even "solve" the test if they're given enough time to look at the image.
tl;dr: colorblind people can determine the difference between their "affected colors" and label them properly in most scenarios, but a colorblind test is specifically designed to confuse the eyes of someone with these issues.

BRO that pee break WAS a core memory for me! It was when I first started watching the channel I was a little unsure about Jack because he was very intense back then and I was just on the verge of starting to warm up to him and that moment solidified everything. 14 year old me was literally belly laughing for 20 minutes and then Jack came back on and continued playing the game like it was nothing. That moment started it all and now I watch Jack to help me get through anxiety when it starts to flare up as a now 18 year old. Funny how things happen huh?
