I love this video. Many years ago I stumbled upon a girl with pink hair and tattoos that I thought was hilarious. She told me to put that terrible American cheese in my ramen. I was reluctant but it turned out amazing. Martina gave me the knowledge of upgrading my instant ramen to epic proportions and made a life long fan out of me. From Bimbimbap and instant ramen to Japanese adventures. I am a Martina King Kogi super fan and I am glad to see ramen hacks bringing things full circle for me :D
I literally cannot handle what looks like an elven princess staring deeply into my eyes as she stirs a bowl of goop and side-grins at me. I feel haunted and exhilarated. Rock on, Martina, everything you do is a delight!
Rewatching during a pain flair. I also made Japanese curry for the first time ever this week to build my ladder. Not sure you will ever fully understand how honestly helpful you are in so many people's lives. Thank you. Honestly. You lighten the load.
Oh yeah Martina we remember your korean ramen hacks! Still to this day adding egg or cooking cream is my go-to when cooking instant ramen (mainly cause my stomach can't handle spicy ramen 🥹 shin ramen is like a once in 6 months event cause I just can't eat it 😭)
Oh! I just tried cream of mushroom soup in Shin (also Samyang soupy cheese) and it's so good! It's more creamy in the cheese one, but definitely adds mushroom flavor to the Shin. I saw someone used cream of chicken too. It's heavy so definitely a once-in-a-while thing when you don't have to go anywhere.
Quick tip: If you want gloopy things to plop out of your measuring utensils effortlessly, spray the utensils with a bit of cooking oil spray / grease them before you use them 😊 x
One of my favorite types of your videos are these. Hacks that anyone can try at any level. I may have said ‘apronation complete’ with you 😅 one of my favorite consistent things you always do for these videos. Martina. You’re seriously just a light for me. I’ve been following you for so many years. Since your first tteokbokki cooking video you made. You’ve brought me through an amazing journey of cultures. Thank you for always doing these for us. You truly truly make a lot of our days. And I hope us being there for you always makes yours. You’re our Sailor Martina!
Well gosh, thanks for such a lovely comment~ and for calling me Sailor Martina 🥹🌙 That’s amazing that you’ve been watching since the first tteokbokki video!!! I was a lot stiffer on camera as I was still a teacher at the time, I felt like, “what if my students see this video, I have to be on camera with them in mind” which is hilarious now that I think about it, because I had no idea TH-cam was going to blow up and literally anyone was going to be able to see it 🤣 well you’ve seen many of the Pokémon evolutions of Martina, let’s see where life takes me next!
@@KingKogi of course! You’re always out Sailor Martina! I’m so happy I’ve got to see you grow and bloom. I can’t wait to see where you keep going in life. I love watching you cook. Even if it’s something as simple as ramen hacks! Takes me back to the “Martina’s Midnight Munchies” days. Hope you are well! 💖☺️
you know it's real when martina breaks out the spice girls. now i am going to watch the movie and pull out the albums for the 5,000th time while eating my ramen 😊❤

Cooking hack for 5:20! Lightly coat the inside of your measuring spoon with cooking spray or vegetable oil. It’ll make creamy or sticky ingredients (mayo, honey, peanut butter) slide right out. 👩🏼🍳
I live two blocks from a korean japanese food store... It was a game changer in our kichen! Natto is a regular in my freezer, there's always at least one sealed kewpie waiting its turn. Ive got all kinds of miso and soybean pastes in the fridge, japanese curry mix in the cupboard, and every sort of rice vinegars I could find. I even use storebought kimchi to make kimchumbers for my natto on rice meals.
This video couldn't have come at a better time, I do a "hacked" ramen every now and then to use up my fridge leftovers. Tonight is kimchi, cold cut turkey and mushrooms! I always do a boiled egg and green onion too but I'll definitely be trying the egg and mayo in the broth too! 😋 Thanks Martina 🐷💕
I smiled so wide when you were happily shaking the ramen noodles with the handheld strainer! Totally agree it is the simple pleasures in life!! Love your videos Martina
I still remember (and sometimes watch) the instant Ramen hacks from when you're in Korea! I still add cheese like you did lol except I use mozzarella string cheese instead of kraft American cheese for my kimchi Ramen 😂 I can't wait to try these hacks too! 😊👍
For folks in the US / japan (and possibly elsewhere?) costco currently has a deep roasted sesame 'dressing' which is good on literally everything! it says its for salad but we use it on rice, ramen, and other things! Its so good! You can make really great ramen with it for sure!
It does taste different. I even found out how they're both different. The Western version uses egg white base and Kewpie uses egg yolk base. It makes a difference.
i live in the middle of nowhere maine, but theres an awesome resteraunt/gift shop in town that sells these ramen and most of these ingredients! i'll need to try this out it looks delish.
Watching this while eating hot dogs with kimchi slaw, HIGHLY recommend! (for kimchi slaw just basically mix mayo and chopped kimchi with some spring onion/sesame oil/sesame seeds!)
Your OG ramen hacks video has been one of my 'comfort videos' for years and years now!!! I watch it when I'm sad or feel really lonely or just when I'm eating some good instant ramen!! I'm so excited to have a new Martina Ramen video to have as a cozy place to return to (that gives you views!)

The ramen hacks were awesome and delicious looking. I can't wait to try it. But also! Your set was sooooo cute! Pink backdrop, sailor moon plate, bunny chopsticks! Ahhhhh!

My first thought for the opposite of "basic" was "complex", but "complicate your ramen" is probably not the best slogan 😅 I never have processed cheese around since I basically live in high-quality-local-cheeseville, but your previous hack did get me to try a slice of extra sharp cheddar on my instant ramen, which I now very much recommend!
Thanks! That egg timer is amazing. I’ll try out the egg mayo one soon. I’ve got all the ingredients on hand Just need to make it. The tantan looks like an awesome do ahead dish. I could make all the toppings, etc ahead then bang out some noodles when it’s time. It’s been a long time, but I think the cheese ramen video was the first video of yours I saw. It’s always fun to try out new combinations.

I think Martina is someone who likes heterogeneous texture in food which explains her preference for crunchy over smooth. I'm the same way
Im similar when it comes to ramen at least, I like to have contrasting texture cause if its all just squishy noodle texture and soft then it just gets overwhelming and almost heavy tasting/feeling. I like peas, carrots and broccoli because they tend to hold their own against the other textures
