I am 12 and love aircraft i finally managed to make a successful touch and go on the Saba runway and ofc my dad was next to me to remind me of what headings to go on
The Copilot made it look like a very routine professional takeoff from the worlds shortest commercial runway at 1312 ft.and the Twin Otters are my favorite propeller aircraft, having flown on them many times, two times to Saba.
love that sound! i've had a couple hundred take-offs in them, but never landed in one! great jumpship, amazing airplane. i'd love to take this flight if i get back to the caribbean.
Man I wish there was more on short take-offs! Like ski-jumpers, paragliders, skateboarders, or anyone else actually putting themselves on the line for pure pleasure. Big kudos to medics b.t.w. doing the same to save others crossing it involuntarily. And I am sure pilots appreciate their privilege of training and sunny skies above the clouds every day at work!
In MSFS 2020 they have a landing challenge for this airport. Northbound because the auto-generated scenery features a couple of protruding rocks at the north entry of the runway. There are rocks there on the real runway but as you saw in the video they're not sticking 2 meters above the runway...
It looks like both pilots are fighting for the throttle. Throttle could have been placed in the passanger cabin with airhostess operating it, so that these two don't fight for it. L O L

There's no sweeter sound than a Twin Otter at full throttle.They use an airport near me... unique sound.
My personal favorite has always been a P-51 at full throttle!!
The venerable Twin Otter...an amazing a/c, and you are correct; that take off roll has an unmistakable sound

Just curious : Is there any advantage having the power lever dangle from the overhead panel rather than having it on the pedestal?
The engines are on the wings which are above the cabin, so having the throttles there means a shorter cable connection with fewer angles.
