Yes true. Not for 24-7 oc though you can still do some overclocking, it is not suited well for squeezing the most out of your cpu. With the 1700 you have coming this will be a good setup! I'm sure you will be happy with the combo.

Really good budget board, i use it for 5 months now and it works really good for things i need. There are Y splitter cables made by Noctua you can buy to the lack of fan headers. And yes, it is a great board for the money. Basic and will let you get some extra performance as long as one does not go overboard. Thanks for watching btw!

Please be aware that this motherboard only has 4 SATA connections and when a dual slot graphics card is plugged into the Pci-e16 slot 2 of the SATA connections are blocked by the size of the card so you are unable to use them.
I bought this motherboard recently and I have some things to say When using my GPU (Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580) with the board, two of the SATA ports were covered. This motherboard is mATX There is only 2 can spots, one is used for the cpu so if you want more than one fan you need a fan hub The GPU may also cover the PCIE x1
Same issue, great board good performance but my GTX3060 makes two of the ports unusable :( Do wonder in the manufacturers do this on purpose on there cheaper options.
@@TheSkunkyMonk well you could just search the graphics card name example: Msi ventus RTX 3050. then you would find their page saying it’s length or you could just give me the graphics card name exactly and i would search that would help alot!
Most likely too late but I do recommend a GTX 1660 Super as a good upgrade Can find one at $200+ brand new and is roughly equivalent in power to a GTX 1070 (but uses alot less wattage and much better streaming codecs)
I am using this motherboard with Ryzen 2600 and RX580. I have not really got into overclocking but I am open to try in the future. One thing to be aware of: the SATA ports are in a terrible location. My graphics card barely seats in the slot with two SATA cables plugged in. Three SATA cables and a graphics card is a no go. The PS/2 port is nice. I am using a PS/2 keyboard (Cherry ML4100).
I used 2 L-shaped sata cables, it was a tight fit but it works. Alternatively low profile sata cables from delock will work fine. OC is broken after bios F1, and even then, with stable prime 95 validated 3.7GHz , the pc wont wake from sleep. So realistically, Ryzen master is only option for OC. #Shitabyte
This board was my first AM4 MOBO, i paired it with the 200GE and 2 x 4GB Crucial Ballistix Sports RAM, as a starting build, was planning to upgrade the CPU and get a GPU at a later time, the Board died on me in 3 months, good thing it was on warranty and I had it replaced/repaired. They said the socket went bad for some reason. First time a Gigabyte board breakdown on me. But it is still a cheap option for a B450 chipset. Still running ok,, CPU is now a 2600 and GPU is RX 470.
2020 and went for it. Since parts are hella expensive where I live I needed to squeeze out money without compromising on the performance. I’m using it with a Ryzen 5 2600. And yes overclocking IS very much possible with this MB. But with every board no matter how much pricey it is there comes a risk of shortage and other voltage related issues. So here goes my overclocked setup: 1. Ryzen 5 2600@3.9GHz with base 3.4GHz 2. Corsair vengeance 8GB*2(16GB)@2933MHz with base 2400MHz 3. GTX 1660 Super 6GB@2070MHz(core-clock) OC. So as you can see I’ve maxed out each and every component to it’s max supported clock range on this motherboard. For budget builders or students this MB is likely the best option. Now performance: Overclocking is basically the best thing you could do if your PC is struggling with performance. In games like NFS Heat, AC Origins or other CPU oriented games or apps like Cinebench has shown satisfying performance improvement which was not possible without that CPU overclocking. Caution: Your Ryzen CPU will likely shutdown on its own if thermal limits are reached(95c) and the MB failing to get the overclocking results in possible black screen. THIS IS dangerous.
@@Richieesgarage I mean your setup is kinda indentical to me. 2600 gives almost the same performance as 2600x when overclocked. Board doesn't come with big LEDs built-in.

@@dkincorporated3060 It's gonna be perfect for an Athlon 200ge. Just remember that Athlons can only run Sata 3, so the M.2 drive would have to be SATA 3, if even used, not PCIE.
Nice video. Surprised that a lot of people can't comprehend what you are saying. The board CAN overclock, however it can at best do a really small overclock(that you can use permanently without worrying about your PC dying), one which might not even be worth stressing your system over it, especially if you are mostly interested in gaming. The mobo doesn't allow to do overclocks that actually make a big difference. That said it's good enough for people who have no idea how to overclock and being able to hit even 4Ghz in my opinion is good enough for these type of people. I wouldn't recommend serious overclocking to people who aren't 100% sure what they are doing cause there could be a lot of issues, well at least not now while their system is sparkling new... maybe few years down the road when they feel like the systems is starting to struggle and they want to get the max out of it... that's when you risk it :D
Correct. This is a basic board which you can do some overclocking. But it is NOT a board for overclocking. The best analogy I can make is that this is like a Ford Mustang. It can go fast, but it is not a race car. Some motherboards, like MSI ACE Z390 motherboard, are designed with overclocking in mind. Thus you have good heatsinks on the VRM's, plenty of overclocking features in the BIOS, like LLC. It also packs a 13 phase VRM and other things which I would say are"for overclocking". But I can understand how some people take it to heart when you say the board is less than what they think it is. Especially if they own it. I do not mean it in a derogatory way. I am just simply stating facts. Thanks for watching and for your input!
I have two PC using this same Motherboard nothing fancy but it gets the job done, for a budget PC build for under $400 using the Ryzen 3 3200G graphic, since I'm not using the PC for any games that requires a better graphics
@Dylan Roof Of course your MoBo can handle that card, why not? the problem is not the MotherBoard, is the CPU. What CPU you're planning to paring with?
I bought this MB for a 2200g low end entertainment system for my parents, gigabyte is the only B450 vendor with hdmi 2.0 and 4 dimm slots at this price range. +1 from me.
I bought it over another one I was looking at because of the 8 USB ports altogether. I now have 11 total including the ones on the case I chose. Plus the 4 DIMM slots when most in this range have 2 only.

I had to buy this motherboard as a replacement to my msi b350m Bazooka that I accidentally broke a capacitor and solder point over the vrm by trying to look around at the vrm heatsink. I am not disappointed at the motherboard as for the price, it allows me to use my system again. As you said voltage might be problem but unless you plan on going over 1.4V you will be fine. Only thing i don't like is that there are only 2 fan headers (cpu and chassis).
There are Y splitter cables made by Noctua you can buy to the lack of fan headers. And yes, it is a great board for the money. Basic and will let you get some extra performance as long as one does not go overboard. Thanks for watching btw!
@@TechnologyHive Luckly 212 turbo comes with splitter and i got extra one more for case fans, but it would be nice to control intake and exhaust separately from cpu speed.
Cekpi7 late but I just wanted to ask what cooler you are using Ryzen 2600?? I mean my stock wraith stealth cooler barely can keep up with 3.9GHz.
@@ray4493 I used 212 Evo turbo at that time but now i use cheap "Snowman" cooler from aliex. It works pretty much same but for 1/3rd of the price.

What overclock? cpu or ram dude?
I bought this motherboard recently and I have some things to say
When using my GPU (Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580) with the board, two of the SATA ports were covered.
This motherboard is mATX
There is only 2 can spots, one is used for the cpu so if you want more than one fan you need a fan hub
The GPU may also cover the PCIE x1
Same issue, great board good performance but my GTX3060 makes two of the ports unusable :( Do wonder in the manufacturers do this on purpose on there cheaper options.

I got the motherboard on Amazon for 50 cause it was on sale, really good for its price
7:31 what case is that?
This is the Fractal core 1100
#Shitabyte
I bought two of these boards. Both PCs built from it does really well.
Sydney Forrester hey can I put 2x8 ram is there space
zenXS I put a 4 x 8 kit in one and a 2 x 8 in another and both worked great
Sydney Forrester ok thank you
I’m curious What was your budget for your build
Exp OsKiyy $700 for the machine with a RX580 and $550 for a machine with a GTX 1050ti
Things I didn’t like was 1 fan header and slot gets covered when you put video card in.
i have same board i have 2 rams x8gb 1 graphic 1660 6gb and procesor fan + still i have space to put 2 more rams and 1 more graphic card
So here goes my overclocked setup:
1. Ryzen 5 2600@3.9GHz with base 3.4GHz
2. Corsair vengeance 8GB*2(16GB)@2933MHz with base 2400MHz
THIS IS dangerous.
so worth getting if you can pick it up brand new for £40 ? will be running 16gb hyper x fury black ddr4 ram 3200mhz and ryzen 5 2600x

It's pretty decent for 2nd gen ryzen. No overclocking required.
Reminder: There is only 12v 4pin for your RGB header :3
I have two PC using this same Motherboard nothing fancy but it gets the job done, for a budget PC build for under $400 using the Ryzen 3 3200G graphic, since I'm not using the PC for any games that requires a better graphics
I overclocked my Ryzen 3 1200 from 3.1Ghz to 3.9Ghz with this board and it seems pretty stable.
What about VRM temps? I'm planning overclock my R5 3600 to 3.9 or 4.0ghz but im not sure for doing it because of this temps
@Dylan Roof Of course your MoBo can handle that card, why not? the problem is not the MotherBoard, is the CPU. What CPU you're planning to paring with?
@Dylan Roof you wont see any bottleneck with those components, they works pretty well together.
Great video man, well done

I only could get my Ryzen 5 2600 to 3.9GHz on this MB. Anything higher than that and it gives black screen in any stress test(AIDA64, NFS Heat). 7:00 What's that huge Coolermaster metal box with the fan that's connected to the CPU. I've only seen basic fans on top of CPU's, is that huge metal box thing necessary for CPU cooling?

I had to buy this motherboard as a replacement to my msi b350m Bazooka that I accidentally broke a capacitor and solder point over the vrm by trying to look around at the vrm heatsink. I am not disappointed at the motherboard as for the price, it allows me to use my system again. Veselin Milenov what???? that's amd for sure
That's definitely amd lol
what an idiot haha
he's using nvidia processor
I built a new PC last weekend including this motherboard, Gigabyte B450M DS3H vF50. The problem is NO function keys during startup screen before I access the BIOS Setup program, press the key during the POST. Please help me with a fix.
Thanks.
How rgb works on it?
no rgb
What is your opinion on the Gigabyte B350M HD3?
Can i overclock in this
Yes
@@shashwatmathur9770 Can i buy 3000Mhz Ram on this motherboard and is this work ? Because this motherboard supports DDR4 3200(O.C.)/2933/2667/2400/2133 MHz ! Srry for my English
@@returnofc5788 yes, country neighbor :)
I was able to OC my crappy 2400 MHz ram to 2933-3000 MHz, so it should be no problem on your quality ram. Make sure to enable XMP in bios after your first boot to run at full 3200 MHz.
@@combatantezoteric2965 Thx !
I have this Board. It's ok, but the positioning of the Sata Sockets is terrible. Then of course Gigabyte Software is largely just rubbish. i.e. the RGB Fusion but also the App center more often than not fail to update so you have to do it manually. The App center constantly tries to trick you into installing a large collection of 3rd party programs you may or may not want. All you have to do is uncheck them, but that becomes pretty annoying if you find you have to try multiple times to update something when the update keeps failing. I'm about to put a 3900X in it and I am a little concerned about the VRM's being able to deliver enough power during high load. Currently, have R5 2600 installed and have not had any problems with that, but I guess I will see when I put the R9 3900X in. I may possibly need to put little heat sinks on the VRM's/Fets
can this stream?
You have to tell the cpu first...
I OC my Ryzen 1400 in this board, getting 3.8 with 1.370v, should i reset default or there is no problem? (I use a Water Cooler and 3x 120mm fan in this mobo)
This work with ryzen 5 2600? And i can overclock with that??
I bought this bought yesterday, I don't know why I can not change the muiltiplier, click on this field but no happen, no popup show
like the begining of a youtuber's video: th-cam.com/video/ceKOJQmOhAc/w-d-xo.html
update: I can change the OC setting by pressing page up/down, my fault @@
@@huuloc12 look man with most amd boards or chip , you can overclock. This isn't intel.
i don’t know if you’re checking comments on this video still, but does it support ddr4-3600 ram?
Hello with this motherboard, I can put 3gb of vram video in a 2400g vega 11
You can only use 2gb of VRAM for the Vega 11 on any motherboard.
Strange... I have this Exact Board and I see 4.2 GHz on the regular from my 2600x and you don't need an all core Overclock for Ryzen... XFR does that just fine, though I did get 4.2 GHz Stable... My Ram is at a stable 3000 MHz and could hold 3200 MHz but there is little improvement... My CPU Idle is 30c and my max load is 68c. My Zotac GTX 1070 Mini hits 1960 MHz boost and fluffs at 65c the most I have seen the Vrms and Mosfet at was 52c... Hell the only Cons I have found is the Position of the Sata, the x4 slot and poor Positioning of the Case Fan Header, also if you populate the M.2 Nvme you lose one Sata Port Ironically the one that is in the worst position if one has a Long GPU. But that was something I was aware of... As they Share the PCIE Lane... For a Budget Board it will do just fine until B650 is a thing. I have seen much worse...
Hey, i have the same board but how do i change the led strip color? It just stays on orange.
@@user-cc2fm4vu2x Look around in the bios for Power LED I think it's in there but I recall seeing it. I didn't bother changing that cause Orange suited the Zotac 1070 I have and my friend had a spare prism cooler so I made that Orange as well...
@@user-cc2fm4vu2x Right well I had a dig thru the Bios and I have concluded that the Boards Little Strip will only ever be Orange or Off though you can connect an LED Strip and Address the Color Course I am fine with the Orange.
@@Zacarriss yeah, same and a shame.
@@user-cc2fm4vu2x Well at least everything else is fine. I was not looking for anything crazy just functional overall and several parts are second hand got the 1070 for $185 cleaned up real nice.
I'm a bit confused about dual channel... Why does it say that 1st and 2nd slot is ddr4_4 and ddr4_2?
Also RMA is utter pathetic, Gigabyte won't take in this board as apparently it needs to be sent via the retailer and not you the customer who purchased the board. I have had a data line on a rear usb short with a 5v line and now the board randomly reboots, bsod and usbs are toast.
Highly avoid. Literally has no warranties other than your right to return within a year (UK anyway)
How does ram oc go. People say that you can’t do 24/7 over clocking but is ram an exception?
I got 3200 MHz on Crucial 2400
