Duotone Whizz SLS 850 review
I was lucky enough to get hold of a Whizz 850 for a week to test it out winging in some great conditions a few weeks back.
Designed primarily as a prone foil the Whizz also works great on the wing especially the 850.
Its not a fast wing but has loads of lift and turns amazing with no problem at all if the tips come out, you actually don't even notice.
It needs to go around 1.5cm further forward in the track than the Glide or Carve foils. I used it on the 60 fuse with 90 dlab mast and preferred no shim with the s165 tail.
I am 92kg & rode it with 85L & 50L board using the Unit 5.5, 4.5 & 3.5 wings. I also swapped foils each session between the Glide 1085 and Carve dlab 850 so I could feel the differences compared to the Whizz 850 in the different conditions I would normally use those foils.
The Whizz 850 is going to my go to winging foil in small/ slow waves and the Carve slab 850 for big fats waves.
For bump cruising or downwinding in fast wind waves the Glide will still be better but they Whizz will work and be more carvy.
A great foil I'm looking forward to getting the 1000 & 1450 for prone as well as the 850 for Winging.

Excellent review - fantastic vid! I have the 1250 free with the P200 stab as my main winging foil on the UK south coast and I really enjoy using it. I weigh 100kg and want something that is better in the small mushy waves.
Would the Whizz 1000 wing set be a good replacement?

Yes whizz 1000 is epic foil turns super good and has better low end than free 1250 😊

Great video! I love my Aero Free 1000 and it is my daily driver in all conditions. My riding level and conditions seem similar to yours. How do the two compare? Any reason to switch?

The Whizz is a lot looser and way more pump. Also can get the tips out and hit white water no problem.
If your main thing is waves for sure swap the Free 1000 for the Whizz 850, actually the Whiz 850 is better in every way than the Free 1000, not as fast as Free 800 but as fast as the 1000.
Do it and you will be loving it like me even flat water see how far you can get the foil out on a turn 🥳
