Standing Routine - Building Strength - Safe For Osteoporosis Part 1 - 15 mins

  • Join me for this effective standing Pilates workout. With the help of light hand weights (or water bottles etc), we are strengthening our arms, shoulders and back to improve our posture to stop us hunching over. We are also improving our leg and hip strength and challenge our balance.
    I created this routine especially for those of you with Osteoporosis or Osteopenia in mind, but this standing workout is great for anyone wanting to work on their posture and strengthen their upper and lower body.

    I hope you enjoy this new quick workout that you can easily fit into your day. Strengthen your arms, shoulders and back to improve your posture as well as working your legs, hips and balance. Next week, part two is released so you can combine the two classes to create a longer workout. Katja x

    Thank you so much for this short, but great osteoporosis friendly routine! Please continue to make them, especially core training and resistance training routines, for those with osteoporosis who are trying to stay as strong as possible while safely dayly exercising.

    Thank you so much for this. I really love the way you teach. For someone who hates working out, following you is a pleasure.
    I wish you would do several more workouts for people who can't kneel or put any pressure on their knees. My cartilage is damaged and I can't kneel at all, or lean on a bent knee. I wish there were a series of different body part workouts without kneeling - something for abs, arms and back, legs, so we could have a series of different things to do on different days to get ourselves in shape and tone our body.

    I don't have osteoporosis issues but I liked this video as I can do these standing routines in my small summer house at the end of the garden. I use my mobile phone with wifi and would love to see more challenging standing routines.

    Thank you for your clear, calm and helpful instruction. I find the reminders of form so helpful and have been looking for Pilates exercises like this since I used to to classes with another ex-ballerina. I haven’t found them until now!
