This is awesome! Curious though do you ever build these as turtle traps but in a D shape ? If not you should try it if you do alot of turtle trapping the flat bottom seems to catch turtles better then a round body for some reason
No, I haven't done much turtle trapping. Who knows I ever run out stuff to do🤣 I might build one and try it. Sounds like a good idea. Maybe since turtles crawl, they don't like the net moving. Wonder if it spooks them

I dipped it and it's hanging now. Haven't got it in the water yet, but I will surely do a video when I do

Good looking catfish trap. I like it. Any idea how heavy it is compared to the concrete wire? It’s obviously a better set up. 👍
Not bad. It's way more durable. The fish that pile in it's gonna be what's heavy🤣
Ever take a normal hoop net and add pvc or something to keep it spread open. Was interested in making it easier to set from my warf.
I have tried those before. It will work on smaller ones, but they were too much of a hassle for me. You'll have to figure out how to tie the tail section back. Maybe 45s on ends with Pieces running together in the back or something

Beautiful, finally I got 2 made but my square is not lined up with my throat like yours. I matched 2 of the corners to the throat do you think that will that affect the net. I belive I'm only 3/4 or 1" mesh I tied it all by hand, it took days and a mile of string but I did it and only to realize it is way to small of mesh and alot,lot,lot more knots to tie.
Only thing is most states have minimum mesh size unless fishing a private pond. Be careful on that. Louisiana is 1in minimum. The throat orientation won't matter I don't believe

If you have to hire someone to build them, you'd loose money for sure. With material costs now, people can't make much doing stuff. America is in trouble, if you don't believe me, just look at any tag on any item your using. Made in

A Catfish wants to go in It’s going to do all it can. A Man told Me a story of His slat Trap had a Large Catfish when into His trap and got hung up the final Throat, Could go forward, or back.😂
I caught two 30 lbers in a slat trap once. Them jokers bested the second throat out, but couldn't get out. The trap was suspended vertically
