I personally felt that characters like Iris needed to be humbled once in a while. That righteousness and ego has gone over her head. Imagine if she was fighting Ainz, it would be more or less a Climb and Ainz fight (now granted that Iris is several times more powerful than Climb), but in the end, it won't change the outcome and it would have been more humiliating defeat if Ainz defeated her using perfect warrior.
I feel sorry for iris though. Since she is a princess and the leader of her order, she has expectation to fill in. That might be why she went berserk, that sense of anxiety.

No one understands Iris? Girl has been given the pressure of being the kingdoms best, the person who’s supposed to protect everyone, and then she just gets folded like an omelet by Mundane who’s just a random nobody? The humiliation and guilt of having an expectation only to be a let down, especially for someone like Iris who has been built up her whole life to show her pride, I’d imagine would not run well with anyone.
Cid didnt even need to do this, he just wanted to torment her, i kind wish he made it more obvious the power difference for the audience to see, the audience didnt even know Iris was getting brutally hacked and slashed
In the anime i like the fact she gone berserk more than in the manga, it really shows how much her reputation gone to her head instead of actually giving up bc she acknowledged Jimina is much stronger than her And as Shadow he's gonna wreck her and Beatrix
Because she the leader of the order, basically a country asset for a protection, if she fall that easily, every foundation od their military nation it's also will shatter. It's basically like a message to everyone that your country military is powerless in the hand of the Terrorist.

Man crushed her spirit and all he was worried about whole time was looking as low-key baller as possible. Emphasis on lowkey as he didn't want to fuck up the vibe.
The way I see it, he actually inflicted all those strikes and wounds, but he also repaired her quicker then humanly observable. (Same belief with his duels against his sister) and that it takes exceptionally skilled opponents who have honed their craft to the point of apex to be able to even qualify with being able to interpret such actions against them.
When Claire didn't find Cid in his seat, he better start running for his life or come up with a convincing explanation for this. When it comes to Claire's obsession with Cid, there's no stopping her, like that 1 time when Cid was being interrogated. It took several students, including Rose, to restrain her on the spot. And afterward, she's been detained in under a minute. (Remember that "Pain-In-The-Ass-O-Meter" in the manga?)
Claire is way stronger than what they let on. It is hinted she can take on Iris easily. Cid called her chūnibyō on various time claiming that she hid her true power and ability even to her brother.
I swear to god cid made jimina after binge watching naruto. Drops his weights like rock lee vs garra when he warns before, than puts Iris into literal genjutsu and chokes her like he's an itachi.
She is the only one strong enough and with instincts sharp enough to register the fact that if he moves, for even a nano second, she is dead. Everyone else are too weak to even notice.
The crazy part is, Shadow defeated Iris (the strongest dark knight in the kingdom) without using magic. That just shows how skilled Shadow truly is. He isn't OP b/c of stats or magic spells like other isekai protags. Even if Cid lost all ability to use magic, he is still strong as hell.
Plot twist - he is actually cutting her body parts but then again healing her so fast that no one can actually see him cut her, thats why she thought its a illusion .
Iris is built up to be this very strong and talented fighter but she is shown up and beaten so badly. It's specifically because of her exceptional instincts that she senses just how dangerous he really is and it's terrifying.
ah yes.. the infamous scene that started the entire "crumble". Never have I seen someone that portray a characters definition, way of life, and throught cumble so magnificently. A strong character that got over confident, desperate to feel her back is wide enough to people feeling safe. Her entire persona revolves around it, and being a strong character around absolute canon fodder made her think, she was at the peak of the chain, never needing to refine herself. Notice what her fightingstyle revolves around, extreme magical outputs and humoungous swings.. before the weapon shatters due to her overinfusing magic into the attack. She has literally made the ultimate glass canon build (in a sense). Her pride revolved around it. her comprehension when meeting someone stronger were, a shattering of the truth.. and only time will tell if her psyche can handle it or not. People have been feeding into her pride for way to long, it will be hard for a character like that to see her own faults, shortcomings and that, she can't do it all the way she is and have been.
still the only one that figured out exactly how strong Mundane Mann was just by looking at him, that speak volumes of her skills, she just got completely eclipsed
What really gets me is earlier she had dismissed Shadow's ability saying he must have used an artifact. Pretty much right after this scene though she tries to go after him with an artifact herself at the same time as Beatrix is fighting him. And then when they both lose she tries using her kingdom to threaten him. Absolutely no shame on top of her worthless pride.
I think iris hasn't got brains to contemplate shadow is not against kingdom. At point where she screams a lot I though she had gone mad really. She really underestimates shadow alot or is it her over confidence that she can beat shadow😂.
I haven't read the light novel so I'm just guessing here, but what I think happened is that Cid is doing the same thing to Iris that he did to his sister in episode 2. He has demonstrated that he can move so fast that normal humans can't even perceive him and he could have killed Claire several times over without her even noticing. In my estimation, he did the same exact thing to Iris, but since she is on a higher level of skill than Claire, she is just barely able to perceive these fast as light movements as illusions. That's why she was surprised that his sword was unsheathed. Its not that he never took it out, it's that he put it back in his scabbard so fast that she thought she was hallucinating. At least, that's what I imagine is happening.
Yes but no. cid didn’t actually do anything to both Clair or Iris. What was shown is what he could do if he wanted to. The difference between Iris and Claire is that Iris was able to clearly read and feel what Cid showed her with his minor movements due to her skill, while Claire only had a vague feeling of something going on.
difference is cid trained Claire indirectly without using blood lust,by showing her openings in her stances so she didn't felt overwhelmed.thats why claire says she learns from her brother's sword play but iris felt full unfiltered attack imo.
@@ledoi5961 Oh, so he didn't actually do anything to Claire? I thought the point of that scene was to demonstrate his impossible speed, not a 'what if' scenario that was completely in his mind. That's actually very disappointing if true. beatrix too don't have her responsibility, she is wandered.
idk why people keeps hating on her. maybe cause they never had to bare responsibilities and keep up the act of being strong.
and this is where Iris went full insane.
Ego, Shattered
No one understands Iris? Girl has been given the pressure of being the kingdoms best, the person who’s supposed to protect everyone, and then she just gets folded like an omelet by Mundane who’s just a random nobody? The humiliation and guilt of having an expectation only to be a let down, especially for someone like Iris who has been built up her whole life to show her pride, I’d imagine would not run well with anyone.
It's not like she's scared, she's hearing her instincts and her instincts are terrified and would rather be on the opposite side of the world.
Cid didnt even need to do this, he just wanted to torment her, i kind wish he made it more obvious the power difference for the audience to see, the audience didnt even know Iris was getting brutally hacked and slashed
In the anime i like the fact she gone berserk more than in the manga, it really shows how much her reputation gone to her head instead of actually giving up bc she acknowledged Jimina is much stronger than her
And as Shadow he's gonna wreck her and Beatrix
Because she the leader of the order, basically a country asset for a protection, if she fall that easily, every foundation od their military nation it's also will shatter. It's basically like a message to everyone that your country military is powerless in the hand of the Terrorist.
It's one thing to have pride in your power, it's another thing to listen to a stranger than your own sister.
Iris is a clown she is the whole circus 🎪
アイリスみたいな性格の人間は期待が大きければ大きいほど敗北した時の周囲からの落胆と失望は大きくなります。
Finally someone who gets it
Cid knows that he can kill iris and beatrix easily but that makes episode fight so short. So he went playing with them so he can shows us
Reminds me of OPM King's ability, but without the buff physique.
Now she's about to find out what I truly means to stand against power..
I actually felt pretty bad for her. That pressure they put on her was a bit too much.
Mundane Mann really just unsheated his sword at the last moment to end the duel not as a weapon but as a tool to determine the victory.. talk about savage
Actually he was sheating and unsheating his sword really fast to break her mind
@@zeroxcqt2862 no, in the LN he's just making godly skilled micro movements. It tricks the gifted Iris into seeing her death and that he unsheathed his sword
Strong enough to realize how screwed she was.
“In the end” by linkin park goes well with this video.
I hope she doesn't feel like suicidal you know like love with herself and give up her ideals hope she moves on and make herself stronger. At the end it was like she had lost her mind.
feel bad for this princess, she is strong without a doubt thus this blind fools in her Kingdom put such a burden on her shoulder.
At the end of the day, Chuuni still prevails
Man crushed her spirit and all he was worried about whole time was looking as low-key baller as possible. Emphasis on lowkey as he didn't want to fuck up the vibe.
Damn she knew without even being told, if he wanted to she'd be dead and no-one will even know how
Iris is going to end up going yandere if sid keeps this up.
When he said "are you not coming" that was the moment for me..... he's mocking her so bad that she got no chance but to go forward.....😮😮😮
"Don't just defeat them, give them PTSD for life" 😂😂
The way I see it, he actually inflicted all those strikes and wounds, but he also repaired her quicker then humanly observable. (Same belief with his duels against his sister) and that it takes exceptionally skilled opponents who have honed their craft to the point of apex to be able to even qualify with being able to interpret such actions against them.
Alright settle down Iris. Shh just pipe down you adorable tomato waifu.
Talha Khondokar(Bangladesh):Allow Me To Do It.
*Before*Iris Midgar:My Sword Cannot Be Defeated.
*After*Iris Midgar:You Defeated Me, Make Me Yours~♡.
and cid is not even serious he was just playing with her
1:11 Wait we just getting started...!?!?! He is a goat
Iris:im gonna fight him..
Iris instinct:your funeral..
Iris is simple to describe it okay to confident but it not okay to you look down on people
When Claire didn't find Cid in his seat, he better start running for his life or come up with a convincing explanation for this.
@@cck4863 she's simply possessed by the friendly demon lord that's all no biggie for our hero
@@Verxx-sc2tl
The Great shadow lord is just unhappy about the competition. NO one should out "chūnibyō" him.
bro was just showing off a bit of his aura and defeated a dang strong enemy with that, damn, bro has no chill
I swear to god cid made jimina after binge watching naruto. Drops his weights like rock lee vs garra when he warns before, than puts Iris into literal genjutsu and chokes her like he's an itachi.
Funny think see was saying to Alexia that she is stronger than Shadow, got what she deserves
I JUST LOVE THE SMELL OF FEAR
I mean that’s what happens when your battle sense/instinct senses an attack (in this case a feint) that you can’t perceive due to how fast it is
Who wanna agree this is just anxiety but next level
Hope that one day shadow will reveal himself as cid
She is the only one strong enough and with instincts sharp enough to register the fact that if he moves, for even a nano second, she is dead.
Everyone else are too weak to even notice.
"I was just warming up" ahh battle 😭
"I'm confident I can beat him in one blow"
Top 10 anime moments before disaster
This is like some insane Furi boss fight
The crazy part is, Shadow defeated Iris (the strongest dark knight in the kingdom) without using magic. That just shows how skilled Shadow truly is. He isn't OP b/c of stats or magic spells like other isekai protags. Even if Cid lost all ability to use magic, he is still strong as hell.
I felt bad for her honestly...
Her crash out was legendary 💀 She is a princess of Midgar but the queen of crash outs fr
Plot twist - he is actually cutting her body parts but then again healing her so fast that no one can actually see him cut her, thats why she thought its a illusion .
When pride comes before the fall
It’s not like Iris is weak, she’s one of the world top class it’s just cid is broken
Imagine getting packed up by your own fucking head. Then when you break that. You still get your shit wrecked. Just retire at that point.
That genjutsu had her rethinking her life choices.
Bro was itachi for a minute straight
I want to be isekai'd so god damn bad and just be an absolute npchad like Cid.
Find Truck-kun and let it kill you then.
Stop it, get some help
go outside and exercise, you'll feel better.. or help your parents.
don't go running infront of a truck while screaming magic like some nutjob
Talha Khondokar(Bangladesh):Count Me In Boro Bhai!
still the only one that figured out exactly how strong Mundane Mann was just by looking at him, that speak volumes of her skills, she just got completely eclipsed
Yknow, in the novel. She seemed more composed than screaming psycho flame princess. I was apparently mistaken.
Iris Mid-gar
What really gets me is earlier she had dismissed Shadow's ability saying he must have used an artifact. Pretty much right after this scene though she tries to go after him with an artifact herself at the same time as Beatrix is fighting him. And then when they both lose she tries using her kingdom to threaten him. Absolutely no shame on top of her worthless pride.
I feel bad for iris😂
LOL Cid really did Iris and the other science girl dirty, now he got 2 mentally unstable girl after him.
Very nice never thought he be able to pull off a genjutsu well something similar but still praiseworthy 😎👏👏👏👏
the disrespet when he says Iris MIDgar lmao
Even delta would stomp her 😢😢
I think iris hasn't got brains to contemplate shadow is not against kingdom. At point where she screams a lot I though she had gone mad really. She really underestimates shadow alot or is it her over confidence that she can beat shadow😂.
Meanwhile Cid: "Hahahaha.....I'm doing the perfect mundane man with secret potential bit!"
More like Zaraki on steroids.
She looks good with short hair tho
Iris explained the illusions by looking at his muscle movements and shifting center of gravity and was able to extrapolate to the future using her own intuition, but the part where she failed to recognize the sword entirely seemed so ridiculous that I thought Cid was just fucking with her mind using super speed.
@@shubashuba9209 nah, it's just that she was under so much pressure that she assumed that his sword was drawn. But Cid managed to scare her shitless without even pulling out his sword.
@@ledoi5961 exactly Cid lIterally beats Iris with her own skills and training and experience, This is a moment where her being a sword prodigy whose worked hard to learn as much as she did bits her in the rear end, As her skills and exprience basically have her on high alert to this guy and when he makes those subtle shifts of his eyes and bodies her skills go OMG REDALERT WERE DEAD!!. She all but liiterally FEELs the attack and reacts to it Even though THERE IS NONE but her every instinct is screaming YES there is.
This fight was over before she even drew her sword just took her a few moments to realize it, the final move was just the cherry on the cake
She’s to emotional and clearly lets her pride get the better of her.
My heart actually sunk when her head was cut off. I actually respect Iris so it was hard to watch
Damn, Iris' shocked face after being downed by Cid is so damn cute for some reason.
i love a good humbling
Gotta give it to iris though. To be able to sense those small movements from him.
Alexia might eventually surpass Iris.
this show is so good
Bro put her under his genjutsu🤣🤣
And cid is not even trying at all in this scene
