I'd say identical to the bronco, 18 scale by traxxas
Not a bad size at all. I like the idea of using 1/24 scale model bodies though.
It looks like the max smasher or similar monster trucks are as close to 1/24 as we're going to see from FMS. Seeing them rescale the use of the fcx chassis to a smaller body isn't a good sign. And the K5 makes it more evident they're mostly a 1/18 scale from here on. I wish they'd just own the 1/18 scale category as they are clearly the best IMO.
As we mentioned. If they make some straight axle adapters, they could narrow the wheel base and get much closer to 1/24.
At the end of the day who really cares, they are all fun 👍👍😎 they are scale enough for me. It’s a great hobby it’s not worth getting bent out of shape because it’s not perfectly scale there is nothing perfect in life,
You are right. I doesnt need to be perfect... but dont call a 1/12th scale a 1/18th scale.. thats NOT EVEN CLOSE.. and very misleading. Almost false advertising.
I think FMS listened to you. The fcx24m line matches your critics exactly 💯 👌
Yes. Very close. I would have preferred they used the actual fcx24/18 axles though and just made them straight axles.
I like all between 1/18-1/24. Kinda wish more 1/25 were made just so we could use all the 1/25 scale model kit bodies. They are just a hair too small for the fcx24
I agree 100%. I wanna use more model bodies!!
Do you think if we can get the blazer body mounted on the scx24 gladiator or extended wheelbase????
Anything is possible with enough creativity. ;)
how many trucks you got!? dude i totally agree i like the minis man 24scx is my shiz but you make me want one but i really kyosho mini truck though!!!
A lot. Lol.
Are they using plastic locker in the diff? The Smasher comes with plastic lockers as an option in the package.
Yes, all non-smashers are plastic diff gears. I have yet to strip any though, so they seem good
I like 1:18, it makes it so they look good next to a whole lot of action figures and their accessories if you're into that type of thing. Have an old GI Joe drive your rig 😎
Hahha true.
Great comparison of all these different small scale crawlers. The new FCX is really great looking but it’s definitely a 1/24 chassis with a 1/18th or so body on it. I’m really digging that Rock Van, never seen that one before!
The Rock Van is super cool, it is the same as the "T-hunter" from @Hobby Plus. to be fair, the Power Wagon is a 1/24 scale chassis with an 1/18th scale body too. lol
@@TheShopMiniRC I hadn’t seen that one either, pretty cool stuff. Good point on the Power Wagon. I’ve had an RGT Adventurer since it came out but only recently really getting into the smaller crawlers. Subbed for more!
We like the 1/18 we think? lol We really like our SCX24s a lot...
We prefer them to be slightly smaller. I would love to use more scale model bodies.
if they made it a straight axle they would have to make a new transmission or have it made with a lower gearing
maybe, or just change the ring and pinion gearing in the axles. Remember, its a 2 speed so they dont have to get too crazy with it.
Does the blazer body fit on the power wagon chassis?
Yes. All 3 fcx24s are interchangeable.
That track width difference was mind blowing..makes me want to do a super24 with those butcher portals ive pretty much maxx out the size i can make a scx24 next project hide my credit cards 😉
Hahhaha send them to me, I’ll hide em. ;)
@@TheShopMiniRC haha 😄
1/19 FTW😂
hahah love it
Removing the portals would probably remove gear reduction without changing the transmission gearing.
Sure, but you can change the ring and pinion to get it back.
Great video , and so from all them platforms which is better ?? I like the k5 version but I’m going to remove the topper on mine .. I think that truck size looks way better than the ford size.
They all have redeeming qualities honestly. It’s hard to pick just one.
I’m waiting on the black one ordered couple days ago and yesterday I couldn’t help it I ordered orange and white one
hahah gotta catch em all!
Thanks for the size comparison.
You bet! Thanks for the watch!
I just wish they extended the wheelbase a bit. Tons of people have done it with links. Wouldn’t Be to hard and it would make it a little more scale.
Maybe in a future release.
@@TheShopMiniRC hopefully. I find the biggest shortcoming (no pun intended) is the short wheelbase in ratio to it’s height. Hopefully they give us something a little bigger. I’ve seen a few people stick the lc80 body on this with extended wheelbase.
Blazer is a great rig !!! iǜe had two trx4m`s and both had problems and had to go back. my fcx24 blazer 0 problems.
Yeah. The fcx is damn good.
thanks for your content
My pleasure! Thanks for your viewership!
Great video. Excellent discussion. The width of the truck really is the biggest issue with scale on these trucks. Someone should narrow the factory axle housing and axle shafts. Even the Monster Truck should have a more narrow footprint.
Well said! Again, if they put straight axles vs portals, they would naturally narrow!
Awesome vid! Been waiting for someone to actually do a legit comparison. A lot of people were saying it was like the same size as that abomination axial came out with ub18 or whatever. Solid axle option would be amazing! Surprised “crapxxas” doesn’t go after these guys, that orange blazer looks exactly like my trx4 blazer, now a ‘79 bronco lol. Thanks for all you do!!👍🏼💪🏼🇺🇸
not even CLOSE to the UBT18 lol. Its much closer to a cr18p / trx4m (slightly smaller)
T word company can’t do anything about it but kick rocks. It’s licensed and Chevy approved. Utb18 is a weird one. Dunno what Horizon was thinking in marketing it as an 18th.
