Oh yeah this machine is definitely a good asset to the shop. We've seen newer videos where Paul and Ben cut out gussets and other parts for the vehicle's. It was nice to see Randall making a visit to the shop even if it was an older video.

I like that you've spent some time using the product before reviewing and showcasing it. I can tell this is an older video since Randal is filming and you're using the old bandsaw to cut the square tube

Some 40 years ago I had the idea of a machine like that, at least the part for tracing the contours. But I never managed to get it working. I have never been a good maker, there were too many mechanical errors.
It was made to run on an Apple ][ computer.
I am glad to finally see that my idea was not completely stupid even if I could not make it to work.
Congratulations to the creator of the machine!

Paul, please throw that doggone level away! Perfection comes from being flush, parallel or perpendicular to the piece you're working on. Get a good straight edge, a framing square and an angle protractor. I promise things will go much smother. Love those plasma tables!

    • @davidcat1455
      @davidcat1455 2 ปีที่แล้ว

That’s what I need. Hands-on training. Just spent six frustrating hours trying to set my brand-new Arcdroid up.🤷Built a new table paying a lot of attention to get it exactly flat and level. Manufactured a boom that copies The track of the arcdroid to take the weight of the cable and the cutting torch. finally finished making the table and boom last night and spent most of today trying to figure it out. Never did get it to work. I think perhaps you need to be a lot more technologically competent than I am.

I built a gantry style cutter a few years back and if I knew something like this was in the works I never would have wasted my time. It takes up so much space and all I ever really use it for is the smaller stuff that this machine is more than capable of. High five to the inventor!

Yep well over 30 years ago I worked in a fab shop and we had a old electric eye cutting table you Drew your pattern with black Indian ink and your torch would follow that pattern and cut your parts out awesome machine and it was probably old technology even 30 years ago but I liked it

It's free advertising directly to his target audience. When a channel has almost 500.000 subscribers and growing very fast, many manufactures are willing to sponsor products and do guest aperances to promote their products. It would cost thounsands and thounsands of dollars in advertising fee to get anywhere near similar kind of promotin.

It was nice for the "Professor" to come see Paul and his shop but it's also a smart move on his part. Paul is the kind of guy/shop anyone would like to have showing their equipment to a whole lot of new potential customers. This was a "win-win" solution to Paul's problem getting started with a new tool. He got some guidance from the "Source" and the "Source" got some great exposure to who knows how many new customers. Everybody benefits! 👍

I ran a shape cutter at the shop when I was still there, it had six cutting heads and I could hook up a plasma torch to it for other materials other than carbon steel! I was working in a machine shop/ fabrication shop and I would cut multiple parts to be machined! Sprockets, gears, flanges and blinds for multiple customers! It was pretty cool and I set it up with a mig gun for multiple welds on flanges and other circular parts! But the cool attraction was the water jet cutter and they have a couple machinist running those and they cut anything like rubber, wood and Teflon sheeting for Teflon flanges and gaskets! Those people made millions with what we had to do the many different jobs with! But I’m retired now and I don’t miss any of it because it was too stressful and lots of freakin overtime! Thanks for sharing Paul 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸

Super cool, I have thought for a while Paul needed this to make his builds go faster and decrease the amount of grinding he has to do! Cool to see a inventor/owner willing to travel and give 1 on 1 instructions to the Fab Rat Crew, keep on truckin!!!

The words coming out of Paul's mouth may be saying how excited he is but the abject look of fear in his eyes tells me a different story, something about old dogs and new tricks.

Wow this video is way behind. We've already seen you use it and the cameraman seems familiar. lol Any Fab-Rat video is worth watching.

It was good to hear Randall's voice and see him scurrying around running the camera. I think the camera operators should get an end credit on the videos.
Looks like you will be able to cut a lot of brackets etc. now once you get the carboard templates sharper.
Have fun but don't use up all your steel making ornaments,

I use the same type of grate to grill on when we go camping. It's 3x3 and works great!
