The new product releases are almost done, got a couple more to look at it then going to get some used goodness done, sad thing is this month is so slow for PC flipping, probably the slowest month I have ever experienced TBH. Not surprising considering how much of a mad rush the 3 months leading up to christmas were.

Just a quick question Bryan.. because the Zotac is an OC model, wouldn't this explain the FPS bump?
If you underclock the card to stock RTX 4070 Tie Super settings, wouldn't you get the same as the Ventus though?

    • @techyescity
      @techyescity  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

usually you get 1-2 fps at best with OC models nowadays. They actually are more so a clock stretched card rather than a overvolted card, the 4070 super from gigabyte which I have to review yet, will show this in full light. The card has some serious problems in certain titles. much bigger percentage drops then can be explained from just oc.@@rick_takahashi

I love the fact you covered more than gaming performance, you've gained a subscriber. In Australia, electricity cost up to twice as much as it does here. By comparison, the AMD will cost the American consumer a bundle over the years, let alone those in other countries. You may want to look into the demographics and tell viewers about it.

thanks, yeah I do my best. Will talk about power more in the 7900 xt focus video, that card definitely draws more power and it can definitely weigh up over time, especially in aus where our power prices are stupidly high.

@@techyescity Thanks to you, I edit videos much more than I game. I ordered a Asus 4070ti Super because I intend on doing a little more gaming and 60fps high settings with RT on is good enough for me. The 4070 cost nearly as much as my i7-12700 build. I'm replacing a 3060 but refuse to spend about the same on a card as my entire computer. It makes me nuts that most reviewers use gaming performance as their only benchmark.

This was a good video... More TechTubers should be making videos like this where you're comparing models and brands because there are differences and this 4070tiS launch was plagued with people using the MSI cards even though they were sampled MULTIPLE variants and rather than putting in the work and getting it right, they played to the algorithm and bad information is everywhere.
This video is the opposite of that, good job.

  • @AdrianValenciaYT
    @AdrianValenciaYT 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

In Mexico the difference in price between a 4070 Super and a 4070 Ti Super is 30% (Same brand and model, just different card). Is it worth it to spend that extra 30% for the extra perfomance but also the extra vram?
I mean, the GTX 16, RTX 20 and 30 series became obsolete way too quickly because of vram. $800 dollars for a 16Gb card doesn't sound too crazy right now and looks promising for future proofing performance, but I'm looking for other's opinions. I do not upgrade components too frequently and I do wanna spend on someting that will last for a good while. (GTX 1080 Ti owners will agree).

If only the MSRP was real...in Europe those are so overpriced. I live in Romania and the cheapest 4070ti super is 1070 dollars, auch. For comparison, RX 7900 XTX is cheaper here and far better. Yeye, team green has fancy lights and shadows and is better for productivity but that's about it. Better luck with 5000 series I guess, maybe the MSRP will be real then. Nice video, as always!

The 4080 super should be the 799 card while the 4070 to super should be sitting around like 600. But ever since the 20 series nvidia has moved the whole line 1 tier up in pricing and don’t think the 50 series won’t do the same 5080 for 1499 bet Jensen will try it.

  • @Joric78

I'm hoping we continue to see sub RRP prices in Oz, and that they drop further with this weeks 4080 Super announcement. RRPs of $1119 for the 4070 Super and $1499 for the 4070 Ti Super are insulting, but the cheapest I see available are $1000 (PNY VCG4070S12DFXPB1-O at CCPU) for the Super and $1350 (PNY VCG4070TS16TFXPB1-O at CCPU) for the Ti Super. Since I want a new card primarily to run VR at the 4128x2208 resolution of my Quest 3 (using AV1 encoding), I'd prefer having the larger bus and VRAM to support that.

You should cross flash the MSI Ventus 4070 Ti Super with the Zotac vbios and run the benchmarks again to see if it's a hardware design flaw or vbios causing the performance loss on the Ventus. The 4070 ti super is good for someone with a PC, and a TV as a second monitor. What makes this release exciting is that its performance is not annoying at 4k like the vanilla.
This means it's a sweet spot for that use case, where the TV and PC are on the one desk.

It's been one heck of a weird card. Had to look into it for a couple of friends who are more so inclined on buying Nvidia products than AMD's (To some extent its due to the features, though). It's kind of all over the place. In the US the price gap seems to be within that 50$ between the 4070TI and 4070TI Super, but here in Canada that gap is a measly 10$, or sometimes it even match one another (1.1k$C is a lot of money for a GPU though, man that's hard to swallow.)
I've been trying to look for VR numbers a little and it seems like its all over the place. Some benchmarks seem to indicate that the 7900XT does better, some have a hard time with it AMD. It doesn't help that some of said numbers were when the RX7000 Series had issues with VR until some driver fixed the issue.
I'm kind of disappointed by the launch. It's nice that the card's replacing something that really needed a kick when it comes to what the hardware deliver, but the pricing just isn't that exciting for the average gamer. Nice card to get into AI with Nvidia I guess 🤷.

To be fair the MSI 4070 Ti Super Ventus, might not really be lagging due to an issue. The Zotac 4070 Ti Super is an OC card. .... (Might be worth looking at the clock and memory speeds.)
Whereas MSI do make a 4070 Ti SUPER 16G VENTUS 3X OC.
That's an overclocked Ventus they make, as well as a stock Ventus - 4070 Ti SUPER 16G VENTUS 3X. (You can see these on this MSI website - MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Series Graphics Cards BIOS Update Statement.)
3:00 Am not convinced the magic-sauce in RTX 4080 vs 4070 Ti Super and 4070 Super, is just L2 cache. RTX 4080 has 15% more cores, 7% faster memory, as well as the 33.3% more MB of L2 cache.
4:41 increasing the power conumption, somewhat. Some watt. ........ Nice!
5:46 Yeah the 4070 Super is a nice upgrade in specs, but apparently is not selling due to 12GB of vRAM. Some stores are not even stocking it. Scalpers ruturned their 4070 Super stock which they bot-bought.

Not sure how Japanese consumer prices work, but I wish an OG 4070 Ti was 109,800 Yen over here in EURO-land. That's around 680, which is just a little more than what they currently want for the 4070 Super over here. Cheapest vanilla 4070 Ti is EUR 759 and the Ti Super starts at 874. Also just had 4080 Supers pop up today on the HW search-site I use (no idea why, but this happened with the Ti Super, too) and those cards are EUR 1350. This might change on Wednesday, but given that this is around 230 more than the OG 4080's current price, it doesn't give me high hopes for the whole "4080 Super MSRP = 4080 MSRP"-thing.

I would take the $829 7800XT over the $1019 4070S and the $1549 XTX over the $1500 4070Ti Super. People buying these lower end RTX cards for future Ray Tracing are going to be quite disappointed because as seen in Riva Tuner at 7:54, 31FPS on the Ti Super is still 31FPS with high frame times wouldn't be a good experience so just turn it off. DLSS lowers the render resolution so you pay for a 1440p panel then turn on DLSS quality then you are running 1080p. Logically your FPS would increase running at 1080p but this is a $1500 card, it should run 1440p RT at, at least 60FPS for that kind of money.
When looking at the performance numbers the XT is the better raster card and imo the extra 20FPS in RT isn't really a selling point since all the 4000 series cards choke without running the games from a lower resolution, even the 4090 will choke with Path Tracing no DLSS at 1440p. 20FPS increase really isn't anything special especially not for the higher price tag, if you want to play with RT the only option would be the 4090 and even then you might not even hit 60FPS in some games without DLSS.
I have a 3090 and wanted to move up to a 4k 144hz panel so for me the XTX is not really much of an upgrade considering its only around 35% better than my 3090 and its to late to buy a 4090 now because the 4000 series is on its way out the door. So I'm hoping that the 5090 is at least 130% better than my 3090 because if I'm going to fork out $3000 I want at least 100FPS in every intensive game at 4k no downscaling and 140FPS locked in all the other games I play. I bought a 2080Ti, 2070S, 3090 and 3070 and I still can't enjoy RT without downscaling to 1080p on my 1440p monitor and considering how terribly optimised games are now days who knows when RT will be viable for the majority. Turning on DLSS on a 1440p panel makes my games look like 1080p because it is 1080p.
The most popular RTX card on Steam is the 3060 and that's not even the 12gb version its the 8gb cut down version.. I think the market has spoken in regards to Ray Tracing, sure its cool but only the top 1% can afford to use it and even then its a choke session without downscaling. Its going to be years before we get low end RT capable cards, Nvidia should have called the RTX3060 and 3070 the GTX3060 and GTX3070 for all the good it did us in RT games. Given Nvidia's pricing I doubt we will see a $300USD RT max settings no upscaling capable card any time soon, till then RT will remain with the top 1% of high end GPU consumers or those that are happy to spend $1500 for a 70 tier card so they can drop their resolution from 1440p to 1080p or even worse DLSS performance....
In closing if I needed a new GPU today and my 3090 blew a gasket I would get the Sapphire Vapor X 7900XTX or white Hellhound 7900XTX, here's to hoping the 5090 gives us 130% more performance over the 3090 and doesn't cost more than the organs I'm willing to part with.
    Peace

Each VGA cable from a PSU is limited to 150 watts each. The GPU however will draw as much power as it needs. For the 4070 Ti Super an upper limit of 300 watts on two cables means it might be limited in overclocking scenarios. If it was allowed to go over 300 watts that could be dangerous which is probably why they have 3 cables on the OC model to allow any excess power draw from transients (power draw spikes at the millisecond level as a GPU never stays at a constant voltage and can spike well above it's limit. So for instance a 285 watt 4070 Ti Super might have the odd transient spiking up to 400 watts. Unlikely to go that high on the 4000 series as they have very good transients as compared to the 3000 series).

I can’t claim to have investigated the differences between different AIBs all that intensively but my experience tends to be if you’re running stock settings or maybe just minor OC then all the popular AIBs will suffice.
If on the other hand you want to OC as aggressively as possible then you want to research more closely, and as far as what I hear is concerned Sapphire’s and PowerColor’s premium models are the cards to look at. I’ve heard it a decent amount of times including from one techtuber who’s even made a video on it, a good model of 7900XTX in proper hands can OC to very near the same rasterization performance of the 4090. And he had the benchmarks to prove it. I believe his was a PowerColor.
I don’t care too much about OCing typically, but my own 7900XTX’s behavior suggests it probably has more OC headroom than does my 6900XT. I haven’t been inclined to bother trying though since it’s basically been more than I need just as it is.
And of course with OC the silicon lottery is going to have some say no matter how thorough you are about every last detail of what you buy.

But is your monitor strong enough to run 300 fps so if your monitor is not good just use a 4070 super

the biggest complaint I have with all these GPU's was power draw vs performance. he bottom line is I already have had my fill buying 1000watt power supply's and I have plenty. Try displaying power draw which is a massive game changer. This is the power supply needed for a AMD ASRock 6900XT Formula OC model as recommended by ASRock 1000 watt vs most 6900xt models using 850 watts. Again we see a 3090 and 3090ti with recomended 850 to 1000 watt power supply but they consistantly drew far more wattage than allotted for and in the order of 1200 watts. Back to back showing 4070ti Super and 4080 Super along with 4080 also need a1000 watt power supply. As if this isn't enough proof all listed specs show 4080 Super and 4070ti Super model specs are so close I'd dare say they were Identical. As for AMD they all draw more power than Nvidia GPU's. AMD Radeon specs. list lower wattage charts for their 7xxx series but that simply isn't true and a bump up in wattage is directly implied from AMD GPU specification table.
I have a Gigabyte X570s Aorus Master currently wth a AMD 5700X as a test bench. Although I can easily install a 4090 which I have done and a 6900 XT and a 3090ti showing they all ran at least on a 1000watt power supply when they really needed a 1200watt power supply.
Now for your RTX 4070 ti Super it has to draw the same power as a 4080 super and the specificarions show it does but at the same time this chart I'm listing shows much lower wattage:
Power requirements as per the VGA card manufacturer's recommendations:
RTX 40 model TGP Recommended PSU
    RTX 4090 450 W 850 W
    RTX 4080 / SUPER 320 W 750 W
    RTX 4070 Ti / SUPER 285 W 700 W
    RTX 4070 / SUPER 200 W 650 W
The description is all listed requirements are under wattage at least 100 watts and I have used recommended power supply chart and replaced every power supply by using a power supply inceasing them by 200 watts using Gold or Platinum rated power supply.
My final thoughts are any power unit supplying more power than needed is safe and a good choice to make. Then when a GPU needs the extra wattage it can rely on it and that's why your GPU's are not able to get the necessary power they really need. To proove it use a 1300 or1600 watt Seasonic Titanium or PLatinum or Gold or bronze rated A teir. Not only will all your tested GPU's perform livelier, you will also get a quicker boot along with every other component. I'm 70 and know it's not the Motherboard or GPU or CPU or RAM or SSD or M.2 or even Hard Deives or any peripheral added on to a computer. Facts don't lie a power supply is to a computer as a heart us to a human. A weak heart is the same as a weak power supply and the side affects proove it.
