I am terrible at gardening but potatoes were very kind to me😂 They grew without any issues and I started growing it every summer ❤❤❤ it’s amazing to see them grow and the waiting part to harvest is like desperate to deliver the baby😂❤
I have been terrible at growing potatoes for years. I am so glad we finally got a good harvest and it has done well for you as well. It is so fun to dig for them it is like digging for treasure!

What a beautiful bounty! The 1st time we planted, our harvest was so much like yours. The past 2yrs, hardly any. This year, perhaps abit more, however, not as much as we hoped. I need to do my homework. We live in a Desert town & the climate has been increasing like crazy, plus we have horrid winds which drys out everything n mind you, we drench n it didn't seem to make abit of difference 😢. Oh well, not giving up. Peace be with us all 🙏. "Isa"
Thank you so much! We are so happy we had a decent harvest. I added blood meal and alfalfa pellets to the soil. We also had a pretty wet spring. I think mine did poorly from to little water and minerals. I hope your produce abundantly next year!

Thank you! I am so glad we finally had success! There is always next year. Also if you can find the seed potatoes you can start them now and harvest them in the fall. Although I think they do struggle a lot making it through the heat of our summers!

Looks like you have figured out a great way to grow potatoes. Nothing better than boiling those baby potatoes with the peeling,. When done, drain and add butter and salt. Best flavor ever.

What amendments did you use? I have been using Bone meal, but plan to go buy some Potash to add. I also used Chicken manure. My harvest isn’t until mid-July, so I have a little time. I pruned the suckers and berries to concentrate energy to potato growth.
I have never had any success either. 5 years and counting. Hopefully this will be the year.
@@que-stead-que1717 Blood meal! I have tried pot ash as well with no luck! I would be careful using poultry manure especially with root crops because it tends to burn them unless it has had sufficient time to turn into compost.

Where is everyone getting their potatoes for planting?
I got mine at the farm store. Walmart did have some but you can also find them online they are just more expensive. Thanks for watching!

Right now I am just trying to grow enough for our family. I do end up just giving things away if I can't process it quick enough. Maybe one day I will have enough of space I can grow enough for us and sell to others. Do you sell any of your produce?
@@AtHomeWithKari no we don't sell. We just share our produce. Have been trying to source some really good Irish potatoes.
If I had the funds I would love to order from www.woodprairie.com I don't think they ship outside the us. But they are a family farm. You might could write and they may be able too. Just an idea. I know different countries have different regulations as far as seeds which may be an issue. I wish you the best of luck with finding a source.
