First time watching and I enjoyed your video. I am not an expert at gardening but I notice your first potato harvest had lose soil. I thought maybe a little sandy with better drainage and the potatoes were larger. Your other beds were more compact with less drainage. Pill bugs like wet soil. As for the grubs, if they persist ,you might try some milky spore disease in the soil or something to knock out the grubs. I had a problem with pill bugs and they ate the young foliage. I hand picked every pill bug I saw over and over. I finally got rid of them. Potatoes like lose soil. Keep trying. Gardening is a learning adventure. I hope this helps.

You had moles because they were after the grubs. They eat the grubs. Get rid of the grubs and no more moles. As for the pill bugs, I hand picked the pill bugs over and over every time I saw them and finally I eliminated them. You may have introduced them into your beds with compost. They love compost and break it down but they will eat your plants as well .@@Smalllouisianahomestead2024
Where in Louisiana? In in Swla near Lake Charles. Always trying to learn from those with our hot humid weather. I love watching potato harvest. Any success is amazing
Don't throw away those "little bitty ones". They won't keep, but make a delicious side dish cooked in beef gravy or used whole in stews or soups. This being just May, for you, I'd replant potatoes.
@@brianwebb7109 the best way is obviously a root cellar, but we don’t have those here so the best way I find for myself is a spare closet in a spare room that I have it works for me or you can, can them up and put in your pantry! Plus if I have any left I let them green sprout and by that time it’s near February so I replant those!
