Hi 👋 thank you so much for commenting! Im glad you enjoyed the video. Potatoes are just the best, I think its the long wait and not knowing what's in the bag, its such a thrill when it works out ! Take care 😀👍
I absolutely love watching these videos... especially when the person is so excited.. It's like watching an excited child opening his Christmas presents...
I’ve only just come long this because I was looking up potato harvest I would leave them in for a few more weeks until the leaves go more brown but amazing harvest I bet u loved them
She explained why she harvested them. Saying blessings does not make your criticism invisible. Maybe you should ask for the blessing of wisdom and respect.
Thank you ! 😀 Yes definitely leave the foliage to die off first to get the best and biggest potatoes, but you can harvest early, especially if you have no potatoes left in the house for dinner 🙈 ❤️
In my opinion the tops suggested you harvested early. They may well have been significantly larger if you delayed a couple of weeks. I did enjoy the reveal. No squeals of excitement harvesting my containers though, so who am I to judge you. The lesson for me is the watering. You said you did it every day. I trusted our wet summer to do the job and as a result my best pot has scab there is some rot and some misshaped ones (suggesting a stop start growth) in other pots but over all mostly small but healthy spuds (and definitely smaller than yours on average). I hope for better as I still have half to lift but all my tops finished many days ago and I have low expectations. I'm pretty sure watering let me down, the rain did not penetrate deeply into my bags and containers. Last year in the drought summer I watered better and got better spuds.
Yes, in between the Scottish rainfall I watered the container potatoes every day, and yes I harvested them early cause I needed potatoes 😄 I had nothing left in the store cupboard. Thank you for commenting, maybe you will be surprised with the potatoes you still have to dig up, fingers crossed 🤞
@@thecraftykelpie Thats the difference I thought those heavy English showers would do for a week ( I lived up in the Great Glen for 8 months and I did notice Scotish rain is just as wet as English rain). There is the odd surprise when a container or bag gives a half decent amount but so far no real change. Twelve to go all King Edwards. By the way when I run out I stop eating potatoes and don't buy from the shops, the wait makes the early harvest all the more fun.
Some people say wait longer but it’s hard to wait and no one has done a vid on waiting 1or2 weeks longer after 3-4 months vs 1-2 more weeks, so I’ll say thanks for the video try some blue/ purple next time the flowers on blues are awesome
Thank you for commenting, yes the waiting game 😄 it so hard to not dive in and see what's there, a little sneak peak. I will have a go at the blue/purple ones that would be good, thank you ! 👍🏻
Great harvest!! Enjoy the baking looking sized one for sure!! I have noticed that potato harvests seem to have dropped off youtube a bit due to the pandemic!! But its good to see they are coming back into focus again!! Hope to have a couple in the next couple of months!! Will post on youtube when I do them!! Cheers from Australia!!
Thank you for commenting ❤️ Harvesting your hard work is so exciting after the long wait to see what is there. Good luck with your harvests too, I hope you get a bumper crop🤞🏻 I did also just upload my latest harvests on this video 👉🏻 th-cam.com/video/mSY7FiJdfhw/w-d-xo.html. 💚🌱🌻☀️
Thanks for watching 😀 and commenting 👍🏻 I used the slates for drainage so the bucket didn't get waterlogged. I just overlapped them, think it worked quite well, although it probably wasn't necessary.
White potatoes seem a little starchy, reds are crispy for breakfast but blues seem more on the creamy side , I just do reds/blues now very good to grow in Reno NV
Hi, I so glad you enjoyed my video, and thank you for commenting. It really was the best fun 😂the second ones were rooster potatoes, Albert Bartlett Rooster potatoes, just bought in the supermarket.
I have a dustbin with potatoes growing I don’t know what is happening in it seems that the stems grow and die but at the same time new stems are appearing they have been like that for about 6 months so I’ve still got to leave growing
Hi thanks for commenting 😀 6 months is a good long time, I would have to be having a sneak peak dig in there 😂 Dustbin is an excellent idea for a potato container, hope you get a good harvest 🤞🏻🥔🥔 💚💚 🌻💚💚
Hi I took your advice but I emptied my dustbin instead I got just under 7 lbs of good size potatoes plus a lot small ones so it’s good for what was growing in it, all it was really from small potatoes, plus green ones that I really thrown into it plus compost and earth, my next crop will be planted there properly thank you.
Composted manure (nothing special) I'm sure you'll not buy anything better👍Probably why you got a descent harvest but as @MissBetsyLu states more patience would have yielded less tiny ones. Love your giggles and honest enthusiasm. Keep it real and have lots of fun.✌
I put them in the pots in May, and I made this video about the end of August, so it must have been about 4 months maybe closer to 3, Im not very good at keeping track, must try harder 😆🌱🌞💚❤
Oh your right, I didn't ! In the green bucket was 2 small potatoes, and in the big tub I planted 3 potatoes, they were a little smaller than medium sized. I'll add this to my comments 😀
Now that I have seen your results of growing these few potatoes in a bucket, I don't feel like such a looser. I've watched other videos of folks growing potatoes in a bucket, and they always seem to be producing bumper crops. I've tried growing them on th open ground, but with very little success. I've also experiments with grow them in more sandy souls, and have gotten better results. B-Strong, B n Christ.
Your reaction is so charming, I just had to follow! Hi from North Carolina!! I just put my seed potatoes in 2 weeks ago 🎉

Plants aren't dead enough to harvest. Blessings everyone everywhere
Potatoes can be harvested early, I had already cut away some of the leaves, and what was left was beginning to turn 😀👍🏻
@@thecraftykelpie wait 'til they're dead or sacrifice bulk.
Blessings everyone everywhere
Yes I do with my main crop but these were earlies 👍🏻

My fave potato reveal ever!!!

Thank you so much! 😀
That was so much fun! Thanks for sharing. Great harvest.
Thank you 😀
Thanks for sharing the excitement of your harvest.
You're very welcome, thank you for watching ! 😀

Very Nice and Inspiring 🌟 🥔 🌟
Thank you 😊 😀❤️👍👍
Love the potato harvest video... so exciting like a treasure hunt or finding candy eggs at Easter 🥔🥔🥔😀 what are the slates for?
Thanks for watching 😀 and commenting 👍🏻 I used the slates for drainage so the bucket didn't get waterlogged. I just overlapped them, think it worked quite well, although it probably wasn't necessary.
Your a sweet person. Good for you
That is so nice, thank you 💚🌻💚
Another four weeks and that bucket would have been packed with spuds. Some potatoes need five months to give the best crop
Yes you are probably right, I'm still learning 👍🏻
White potatoes seem a little starchy, reds are crispy for breakfast but blues seem more on the creamy side , I just do reds/blues now very good to grow in Reno NV
I am now convinced. You need a British/Scottish/Welsh/Irish accent to grow lots of spuds 😂
😂😂😂❤🌻🌞🌱🌱
That was exciting 😂😂😂 looks great 👍
Very! as I think you could guess 😆
A worthy harvest
It certainly was 😀👍🏻
Great reveal!😊
Thank you very much 🌻💚🌻 😁
Wonderful glee😊 tell us what you did.....for that fabulous harvest
Thank you ! I really did nothing special, I think I fed them once, but otherwise it was just watering every day ❤
I love this video!
Thank you so much 😁😎🌻💚💚🌻
Why do they have slates in containers?????
Drainage, I also had 3 pots without slates, for a comparison test. It made no difference.
love your excitement , were the 2nd sarpo mira ?

🥔🥔🥔👍
What is variety, please????? Many grand blessings everyone everywhere
Sorry I don't know the variety, it was just shop bought potatoes, UK white potatoes from supermarket that started to sprout.
How many potatoes did you start with?
I had 2 small potatoes in the small green bucket, and 2 bigger ones in the big trug. 🥔🥔🥔😀☀️👍🏻
Composted manure (nothing special) I'm sure you'll not buy anything better👍Probably why you got a descent harvest but as

@@thecraftykelpie OK. Thank you. I let mine grow for 90 days and they were only golf ball sized.

Did you say longanisa ? 😂😂
Nope! 😂😂 I had to rematch my video to see what I said that sounded like it, I couldn't find anything, but no 😂 I didn't say longanisa ❤
Nice lady
Thank you ☺
Very strange technique
That harvest was a complete failure, your time would have been better spent running to store and buy some.
I was very happy with my harvest of potatoes, its not a failure for me as I'm still learning, but thanks for that.
