For those of you with colon cancer, I hope that my husband surviving 28 years, cancer free, after a diagnosis of stage 3C cancer, gives you hope. He died last year, at age 81, of natural causes. By the way, his surgeon removed the big duodenal tumor and a lot of cancerous lymph nodes in his abdomen, but no metastasis had occurred, which was pure luck. Colon was not removed.
Wow, colon cancer is one of the deadliest cancers as it's common to be found in it's late stages. It's terrifying how many young people are battling colon cancer and preventive testing isn't suggested until the age of 45 and young people presenting symptoms are being ignored by medical providers, so getting a colonoscopy order is a whole war when you're in your 20's and 30's.

@@user-oh7iv3ij5x yeah a lot of people have to virtually beg the doctors to have a proper look and hope they have enough heart to agree to do so, one of my friends (29) dad had prostate cancer, very luckily for him he insisted they look again because of how awful he felt 24/7 after being told he was all good and nothing wrong, they immediately got him ready for surgery not long after apparently had be went home it would have been too late the next time he went back, so insane to think that happens everyday to some poor soul.
I was 32 when diagnosed with stage 1 colon cancer and diverticulitis at the same time. My first surgery left me with one foot of my transverse colon. Doctors thought it was a fluke so didn’t take chemo. A year later cancer came back to my rectum. Went through chemo and radiation and then decided to yank the rest of my colon. Now have a ileostomy. Been cancer free since September 2006.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at age 33 in June 2020. I was told I could only have palliative care as chemo was unlikely to work. Initially I had radiotherapy to shrink the tumours in my lymph nodes and then chemotherapy (FOLFOX / IRI). I also had a right hemicolectomy and then 21 months on immunotherapy. I’ve recently had SABR radiotherapy and my latest scan is looking good. Just wanted to give people hope, it’s tough but you can get through this.
I have had cancer at 16 and 20 years old. I am now 53 and gave many issues due to radiation 33 years ago but I have learned to push myself especially since I live alone. I have watched a few of these types of videos and what I’ve seen is a trend of healthy 30 years old in a plant based diet who exercise and seem healthy before they started symptoms. Know this is just from what I’ve seen and read and everyone has different views which should be respected and that is Somme cancers feed off of sugar and some doctors suggest the Keto diet. I’ve seen reports that the plant based meat they call “Impossible” are not good for you because of the ingredients. Do your own research to find what works best for your body.
I've noticed this too - this video came up on my feed, but I've seen some other folks who are vegan/vegetarian get colon cancer which is strange because when you look up colon cancer - it's usually people who eat meat etc. So I wonder why now people are getting colon cancer so young who are otherwise healthy, healthy diet, healthy weight etc.
Vegetarian could have put vegetables in their mouth thar are not washed enough off of soil or industrial pesticides. Even organics are fertilized by manure .
My cousin, who’s more like my sister, was diagnosed with colon cancer when she was pregnant. They had to take her whole uterus with the baby in the womb to remove her tumor. She had been bleeding from her rectum, and was having to wear adult diapers. It got pretty scary. Thankfully the tumor was removed and that was the only treatment. Of course there’s a chance it could come back, but it’s been about 8 years and she’s still in remission.

Unlike you, I had no symptoms other than fatigue. I am super impressed with and proud of you for advocating for yourself and getting your diagnosis. I’ve heard stories of medical professionals brushing off the GI concerns of young people, but this cancer is appearing in folks in their 30s and 40s … not just old ladies like me. :) I am on Folfox with Advastin chemo indefinitely. Hi Laura, thank you for sharing, I wish I had the strength to do so when I was fighting my cancer. A week after I turned 45 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that spread to my liver. It was a long hard journey but July 19 will be 5 years cancer free. I wish the best for you and I’m thankful it didn’t spread to other organs in your body. Stay on them about the oxyplatinum that can leave you with permanent damage. They backed down on mine after 4th chemo and I don’t have any permanent side effects. Our story is soooo similar! I had a complete colectomy and abdominal perineal resection (rectum removed) at the age of 34. I have an ileostomy too! I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 19. I had severe constipation too!

Yes, I am hearing more stories of young people unfortunately. My surgeon assured me it was the best thing possible for prevention of reoccurrence of disease. Obviously it’s hard to know how it will impact me post treatment. Just have to take extra care ❤️

I want to share to seek medical attention at any given sign. Im 43 and I started with blood in my stool. I did what everyone does, google 😵💫. I was scared to say the least. I got the courage and went to a GI doctor who passively recommended a colonoscopy as I have no insurance. I did not hesitate and schedule one no matter the cost. They found 3 polyps one of those was a giant. I just received the report from pathology and boy by the words of my doctor I literally dodged a bullet had I waited. He believed it could have been worse. Moral of the story is get checked out, get a colonoscopy even if your not in the age group for one. Blessings to everyone 🙏🙏

Now, a little less than two years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with undifferentiated spindle cell sarcoma. One of the best things you can do is keep as positive an attitude as you can. I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer last April 2021..had a right hemicolectomy in June followed by 6 months of folfox chemo which is just finished 2 months ago. So far I am in remission but my neuropathy continues to get worse now that I finished chemo which is so strange to me. I wish you all the best as you continue this fight-we are all in this together!
Congratulations for being in remission and finishing chemo. I’m sorry to hear you still have neuropathy, I’ve just stopped the oxaliplatin because they were nervous I would get permanent neuropathy due to my current side effects, so I’m hoping it all fades in the coming weeks.

Your new identity, is partly about this important job of sharing your story, which helps others very much-in a different, but just as important, way, as did your personal training. You’re great at verbal expression, very articulate. You may want to consider teaching as a career. Sharing how emotionally shocked and vulnerable you felt when first diagnosed, really helps others. Everyone who receives a cancer diagnosis feels that way, but many feel that they have to “stay strong.” Your story helps people give themselves permission to feel BAD about a cancer diagnosis, and then better, as they move through treatment. I have had IBD for 13 years now, the past five years I have managed my symptoms and stopped taking all medication. I had normal bowel habits after 10 years plus of loose stools/abdominal pains but, in the last four weeks I’ve had sudden extreme constipation and bloating/pain, constipation is extremely abnormal for me. Today I competed the FIT tests and will wait results but I know that’s not enough, and to get a colonoscopy on the NHS right now is like a massive waiting time, we will see. you have to change your life style i have ibs and nobody told me that can lead to a magnesium defiency. Low grade inflamation leads to cancer at some point in your lifetime. Eat the less white sugar as posible because to processes that sugar the body uses magnesium, that mineral is need for 900 enzimatic reactions its needed for the body to function correctly. Magnesiun alone controls cellular decay. Have you wonder why people look older than their age its because that its sinister to know that. Also the food in your country UK is magnesium depleted, the same brocoli that a person eat in 1950 contains less minerals than todays brocoli. As you age your ability to absorb magnesium decreases, but there is tricks like probiotics good bacteria that helps aborsb those minerals. The only common way to absorb magnesium is through food (vegetables, fruits), things that deplete it are alcohol, sugar, processed food. Any gut ilness can put you in magnesium defiency state. Chemo is so difficult to predict how it will affect you. I just started chemo three days ago for Non-hodgkin's lymphoma and I had a terrible reaction while being infused with Rituximab. And yet other patients have no reaction at all to it. You're right ... everyone's journey is different both physically and mentally. I think you are doing very well and you are truly a source of strength for other individuals fighting cancer.

Now I’m very careful about what I eat- drink but I also know that so much of this is out of our control. I look forward to your next vlog

@@foxysil52 I’m in my 60’s and had my gallbladder removed exactly one year ago today because of gallstones- passing gallstones was extremely painful but the surgery was a piece of cake! It was minimally invasive and I was discharged one day later. You should be fine- do not be petrified ❣️

Thanks for sharing. So glad you have such excellent support. I was diagnosed with colon cancer when I was 38. Feb of this year (2022) was 14 years colon cancer free! A couple of weeks later, in March (2022), I was given a new cancer diagnosis: chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL). Both times I’ve been considered young for the diagnosis I received. I say this so people are aware Dx can happen at any age. Trust yourself to know your body, and be your own best advocate! Lots of young adults under 50 are being diagnosed with colon cancer, unbelievable we have to b our own advocate and pay attention to our bodies don't ignore warning signs and get our regular check up.

The real reason I’m reaching out is because my daughter Stephanie has chrones as well diagnosed at age 12 and is now in her late twenties she does not have cancer but worries often when she is not well. I can’t remember how many times I heard her say she must have cancer so I can only imagine what the reality feels like. It angers me that this Covid allowed so many to suffer it should have never happened this way the timing was unfortunate so sorry. Hi Suzanne, I’m sorry to hear that. Crohn’s is very difficult and impacts daily life. Not everyone with IBD will experience colon cancer of course but having awareness and colonoscopies regular helped me catch mine early. Thanks for following my journey ❤️❤️🥰
Thank you for sharing- this has been one of the most useful information based video on colon cancer I’ve seen. My story: I had very active ulcerative colitis from aged 23 until I had my first child. I had many miscarriages due to being so unwell with UC so it was quite a journey to have my children. The UC became less problematic after each child.it did affect my career however - I was a midwife and couldn’t do the shifts, having to run to the loo doesn’t work when you are literally in the middle of delivering a baby! So I did further training and became a health visitor, which is mon-fri office hours. I started to have what we’re determined to be large polyps showing up during my yearly colonoscopies after about 8 yrs with the disease. When I was 47 I had a very junior Dr doing my scope and he felt he couldn’t remove the polys like I usually experienced as he was too inexperienced and couldn’t find a senior surgeon to supervise him. The following year I started to get abdominal pain like something was stuck. Our NHS can be slow, and my Gastro Dr wouldn’t bring my yearly scope forward, so I had to put up with the pain for 6 months. At 5hat time I was horrified when they advanced the camera towards the small intestine as I could see what looked like a huge ugly irregular looking mass right where the small intestine joins the large- clearly the cause of the pain. The surgeon immediately said it looked cancerous and that I would have to have surgery. Subsequently I was told due to my age and the long progression of disease I would need a total colectomy- but they offered me J pouch surgery, which would mean only a temporary stoma. It was a much longer surgery at 9 hrs plus and longer recovery , but they could do it keyhole . I was told if I opted for it, there was a 30% chance I wouldn’t be suitable when they opened me up ( due to possible other cancer, length of small intestine etc.) I opted for the J pouch but then things went badly wrong- there was a lot of administrative error and I ended up waiting over 8 months for my surgery 😢. By that time the status changed- it had been completely inside my colon., but when they did the surgery the growth had actually gone through the colon wall, so initially I was very worried about spread. Like you, they did a total clearance of lymph nodes and I was extremely lucky that no cancer was found in any of them. There was another administrative error on not referring me to an oncologist, and I was unwell the 6 weeks after the surgery that I didn’t ask what was going on. By the time I saw him, the window of commencing chemo had virtually closed, and he advised for my stage of cancer to commence at that time would give me virtually no benefit compared to any possible advantage. He did also state however that at the stage my cancer was and it having been removed with lymph node clearance, he would probably have advised not to have chemo in any case. To cut a very long story short, I had the j pouch formed and activated so I only had the stoma for 4 months. I do struggle with it a bit - like you, I love veg and salad but my pouch can’t cope with it - I also have a structure where the pouch joins the back passage with complicates things. I’ve had it for almost 12yrs now however and have been lucky that I haven’t experience a lot of ‘pouchitis’ like many others I know . I didn’t believe they recommend J louch surgery if you have Chrohns? My main problem atm is a lot of weight gain as I can’t fill up on veg like I used to and eat more carbs. I subsequently had a diagnosis of unrelated cervical cancer just after the 5 year ‘cancer clear’ mark which was devastating . I again had a lymph node clearance and this time wasn’t so lucky- cancer was found in one lymph node, so I had to have radiation and chemo, Due to my J pouch treatment was much more complicated ( they were worried my J pouch would get destroyed) and I actually reached a toxicity problem at my 18th treatment- it was then stopped before I had what they considered a therapeutic dose 😢 This year May will be 7 years since my Cervical cancer treatment however, and 12 years since my colon cancer. I have two adult disabled children living with me so I’m very much on the go. I think I will probably have my J pouch removed in a couple of years, but ideally I need to lose about 3 stone before the surgery so that the stoma can be sited well! That is a battle- I don’t cope well with being hungry, and can’t fill up with veg like I used to. The radiation therapy has also damaged my left hip and I can’t be as active as I used to be, which has contributed towards my weight gain. I am praying that you will continue to recover well and go on to a very productive life.

I actually also have UC they mis diagnosed me so that’s why I’m eligible for the j pouch. I hear you about the veggies, I try get as much as I can in but sometimes really have to blend it up and over cook it so it’s easy to digest. Thank-you for your kind words. That's only if you haven't been medically gaslit, alot of people just end up dying here in the UK because they aren't believed and the doctors will literally make out they are over reacting. Unless you've gone through it it's normal not to be aware of it though, unfortunately the media doesn't pick up on it alot
Thank god I don’t have cancer but I did need a bag and for me it was a no brainer I would rather choose life any any any day was not interested in what people taught life is so important I have my sight I have all my movements I just had to adjust the way i did things I was the same person as before just did things differently keep strong

Sending you love! They detected the larger one that was stage 3 but not the smaller one that was stage one. They said due to not having much abdominal fat it can be hard sometimes to see because there isn’t the contrast and identify small tumours. I’m just glad it’s all out.
my stage T3b CRC was missed by a Ct scan.A year later and lots of bleeding I finally had a MRI and Ct And a Scope. Now in full Remission" Radiation/Capecitabine/Oxiplatine "

Not all bloating means the worst, it was just very abnormal for me so was worth further screening. However it never hurts to get a referral and talk to your gastroenterologist. ❤️
It breaks my heart that you and so many other young men & women are now forced to deal with this horrible cancer which was believed to be a predominantly older person’s disease! I know how difficult your journey is, because I lost my devoted father to colon cancer in 1995, nine months after he was diagnosed. He was only 66. He’d been feeling “off” for months & had gone to his doctor twice due to flulike symptoms that never went away, and he was told he was having a severe reaction to the flu shot. It wasn’t until he began noticed blood that his doctor ordered an ultra-sound and he found the tumor. By the time they operated, it had spread to his lymph nodes and had spots on his liver. BUT because he was in such great health his oncologist was positive he’d be able to handle the chemo & radiation necessary to cure him. (Back then they didn’t have all the treatments they have now that help keep your blood counts up, etc.) Tragically, he didn’t seem to recover from the surgery and complained of constant pain in the area of his incision. His surgeon (who had bragged to us about how quickly he “got in and got out” when asked how long my dad’s surgery would take) insisted the pain was “probably caused by adhesions” and basically blew him off. Ultimately he also developed a high fever, so we rushed him to the ER. An ultra-sound revealed a mass the size of a baseball just a few inches below where his tumor had been. He had emergency surgery and found out the mass was, in fact, a piece of surgical tape which had been left by the surgeon during his previous surgery. The tape became infected and developed into a septic mass that had weakened my dad’s system so severely that it took him 8 more weeks to recover enough to finally start chemo. By the time chemo finally began, the cancer had spread all across his liver, and after his 2nd treatment, his blood counts were too low to tolerate anymore. He was told to “take a nice trip and enjoy what was left of his life. There is no doubt in my mind that the surgeon signed my dad’s death certificate when he carelessly left that piece of tape inside my dad! Hun, colon cancer treatment has changed so much since my dad fought it, that I have confidence you’ll win your battle! Until then, you are in my heart and in my prayers! 💞
I'm so sorry your father experienced such a miscarriage of treatment by those we entrust with our life. Humans are not miracle workers and unfortunately mistakes do happen but, a big but, his surgeon didn't just accidentally make a mistake, he was egotistically narcissistic and grandiose when ignoring the obvious symptoms of a post surgical complication. Here in America medical malpractice is the 3rd leading cause of death only behind heart disease and cancer accounting for 9.5% of all deaths annually. That's astronomically terrifying numbers considering the advances we've made as a society!
I eat in a similar way. Everyone calls me vegan but I’m quick to say it’s the majority of what I eat but if I feel like chicken or fish, I will not have an issue with that. Sometimes it’s hard to lose weight without animal protein so I have started to incorporate some animal protein in my diet but will mix that with plant-based protein and go back to a majority of plants once I lose the weight
I've had a chronic illness for over 30 years, requiring regular scans, lab tests and follow-up appointments with specialists.I was also diagnosed with cancer in early January of 2020. In all those years, I've never once had to book my own scans or lab tests nor have I needed to remind my doctor that I was due for one. I always recieve a letter a month or two ahead of time for routine tests and appointments and almost always recieve a reminder call a day or two prior to the appointments. I'm also Canadian. I've only lived in two provinces and perhaps things are done differently in other ones. I do wonder though, if perhaps your doctor dropped the ball and chose to blame it on you rather than accept responsibility.
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Glad you received great medical support. Yeah I mean I don’t know the system well here but the blame game doesn’t change my situation so I will just continue to be on top of things and advocate for myself and my health.
@@laura-jeanbainbridge543 self advocacy is a must, no matter where you live. I must say though, having previously experienced decades of care from the medical system for my very rare condition, I was utterly shocked to experience the well oiled machine that is breast cancer treatment here. I have always needed to educate new doctors on my rare condition and it's maddening at times. I'm cancer free at the moment and there's a good chance it will stay that way. Hopefully you will soon be able to say the same.
@@mustwereallydothis I think it’s important for us to push back when we feel we aren’t being heard. My surgeon, my oncologist and gastroenterologist are all well educated and a wealth of information but they themselves have never had the chronic illness or cancer. They don’t know what it feels like, so I totally agree.
If the cancer is an Otto Warburg type (70% of the cases), pectin can greatly help and so does Fenbendazole/Flubendazole. Both are not magic bullets and help with ketogenic diet. Fenbendazole helps in cases of unstable DNA where markers are lost and conventional therapy is not suitable. Pectin lozenges are easy to buy in almost every pharmacy.
I was just about to mention the keto diet. Many great studies out there for colon cancer correction and blockage prevention. Fiber for some can be a big problem.
@@michaelwatts1186Fiber is a problem for ones with tendency to develop kidney stones because they are rich in oxalates. Keto-diet is mainly effective for Warburg effect tumors which do not breathe oxygen but instead use a more primitive energy production by fermenting glucose and glutamine. It is more difficult to stop the glutamine because it is produced primarily in the lungs as is used by the immune system. It can be blocked by berberine but then the patient must avoid infections, which is a very difficult task. Fenbendazole works best with ketogenic diet in cases where the DNA of the tumor cells is sufficiently damaged. When such a damage is present, these cells usually lose markers that are used by conventional chemo. In this case Fenbendazole, which is an anti-parasitic drug, starts being efficient in suppressing tumor proliferation. Fenbendazole is not a magic bullet. It best works with chemo. In every treatment, some of the metastatic cells become unstable. This is why Fenbendazole as a supplement to ordinary chemo is so important. Sugar free pectin (e.g. Luden's sugar free lozenges) is not as efficient as Fenbendazole for unstable DNA but it still inhibits metastasis. The problem is that pectin competes with sugar. In a ketogenic diet, simple carbs are replaced by healthy oils such as olive oil but also by unhealthy saturated fats such as yellow cheese.
For those of you with colon cancer, I hope that my husband surviving 28 years, cancer free, after a diagnosis of stage 3C cancer, gives you hope. He died last year, at age 81, of natural causes. By the way, his surgeon removed the big duodenal tumor and a lot of cancerous lymph nodes in his abdomen, but no metastasis had occurred, which was pure luck. Colon was not removed.
Wow, colon cancer is one of the deadliest cancers as it's common to be found in it's late stages. It's terrifying how many young people are battling colon cancer and preventive testing isn't suggested until the age of 45 and young people presenting symptoms are being ignored by medical providers, so getting a colonoscopy order is a whole war when you're in your 20's and 30's.

It's not about hope it depends where its spread too and depends if the type of cancer is aggressive more than others.
@@user-oh7iv3ij5x yeah a lot of people have to virtually beg the doctors to have a proper look and hope they have enough heart to agree to do so, one of my friends (29) dad had prostate cancer, very luckily for him he insisted they look again because of how awful he felt 24/7 after being told he was all good and nothing wrong, they immediately got him ready for surgery not long after apparently had be went home it would have been too late the next time he went back, so insane to think that happens everyday to some poor soul.
I was 32 when diagnosed with stage 1 colon cancer and diverticulitis at the same time. My first surgery left me with one foot of my transverse colon. Doctors thought it was a fluke so didn’t take chemo. A year later cancer came back to my rectum. Went through chemo and radiation and then decided to yank the rest of my colon. Now have a ileostomy. Been cancer free since September 2006.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at age 33 in June 2020. I was told I could only have palliative care as chemo was unlikely to work.
Initially I had radiotherapy to shrink the tumours in my lymph nodes and then chemotherapy (FOLFOX / IRI). I also had a right hemicolectomy and then 21 months on immunotherapy. I’ve recently had SABR radiotherapy and my latest scan is looking good.
Just wanted to give people hope, it’s tough but you can get through this.

I have had cancer at 16 and 20 years old. I am now 53 and gave many issues due to radiation 33 years ago but I have learned to push myself especially since I live alone. I have watched a few of these types of videos and what I’ve seen is a trend of healthy 30 years old in a plant based diet who exercise and seem healthy before they started symptoms. Know this is just from what I’ve seen and read and everyone has different views which should be respected and that is Somme cancers feed off of sugar and some doctors suggest the Keto diet. I’ve seen reports that the plant based meat they call “Impossible” are not good for you because of the ingredients. Do your own research to find what works best for your body.
I've noticed this too - this video came up on my feed, but I've seen some other folks who are vegan/vegetarian get colon cancer which is strange because when you look up colon cancer - it's usually people who eat meat etc. So I wonder why now people are getting colon cancer so young who are otherwise healthy, healthy diet, healthy weight etc.
Vegetarian could have put vegetables in their mouth thar are not washed enough off of soil or industrial pesticides. Even organics are fertilized by manure .

My cousin, who’s more like my sister, was diagnosed with colon cancer when she was pregnant. They had to take her whole uterus with the baby in the womb to remove her tumor. She had been bleeding from her rectum, and was having to wear adult diapers. It got pretty scary. Thankfully the tumor was removed and that was the only treatment. Of course there’s a chance it could come back, but it’s been about 8 years and she’s still in remission.

Hi Laura, thank you for sharing, I wish I had the strength to do so when I was fighting my cancer. A week after I turned 45 I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that spread to my liver. It was a long hard journey but July 19 will be 5 years cancer free. I wish the best for you and I’m thankful it didn’t spread to other organs in your body. Stay on them about the oxyplatinum that can leave you with permanent damage. They backed down on mine after 4th chemo and I don’t have any permanent side effects. Our story is soooo similar! I had a complete colectomy and abdominal perineal resection (rectum removed) at the age of 34. I have an ileostomy too! I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 19. I had severe constipation too!

Yes, I am hearing more stories of young people unfortunately. My surgeon assured me it was the best thing possible for prevention of reoccurrence of disease. Obviously it’s hard to know how it will impact me post treatment. Just have to take extra care ❤️

I want to share to seek medical attention at any given sign. Im 43 and I started with blood in my stool. I did what everyone does, google 😵💫. I was scared to say the least. I got the courage and went to a GI doctor who passively recommended a colonoscopy as I have no insurance. I did not hesitate and schedule one no matter the cost. They found 3 polyps one of those was a giant. I just received the report from pathology and boy by the words of my doctor I literally dodged a bullet had I waited. He believed it could have been worse. Moral of the story is get checked out, get a colonoscopy even if your not in the age group for one. Blessings to everyone 🙏🙏

Now, a little less than two years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with undifferentiated spindle cell sarcoma. One of the best things you can do is keep as positive an attitude as you can. I just found your story and appreciate you sharing. I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer last April 2021..had a right hemicolectomy in June followed by 6 months of folfox chemo which is just finished 2 months ago. So far I am in remission but my neuropathy continues to get worse now that I finished chemo which is so strange to me. I wish you all the best as you continue this fight-we are all in this together!
Congratulations for being in remission and finishing chemo. I’m sorry to hear you still have neuropathy, I’ve just stopped the oxaliplatin because they were nervous I would get permanent neuropathy due to my current side effects, so I’m hoping it all fades in the coming weeks.

I have had IBD for 13 years now, the past five years I have managed my symptoms and stopped taking all medication. I had normal bowel habits after 10 years plus of loose stools/abdominal pains but, in the last four weeks I’ve had sudden extreme constipation and bloating/pain, constipation is extremely abnormal for me. Today I competed the FIT tests and will wait results but I know that’s not enough, and to get a colonoscopy on the NHS right now is like a massive waiting time, we will see.

you have to change your life style i have ibs and nobody told me that can lead to a magnesium defiency. Low grade inflamation leads to cancer at some point in your lifetime. Eat the less white sugar as posible because to processes that sugar the body uses magnesium, that mineral is need for 900 enzimatic reactions its needed for the body to function correctly. Magnesiun alone controls cellular decay. Have you wonder why people look older than their age its because that its sinister to know that. Also the food in your country UK is magnesium depleted, the same brocoli that a person eat in 1950 contains less minerals than todays brocoli. As you age your ability to absorb magnesium decreases, but there is tricks like probiotics good bacteria that helps aborsb those minerals. The only common way to absorb magnesium is through food (vegetables, fruits), things that deplete it are alcohol, sugar, processed food. Any gut ilness can put you in magnesium defiency state. They call this defiency the invisible defiency
How are you getting on? You should be fast-tracked for a appointment within 2 weeks for a colonoscopy if your FIT test has come back inconclusive
Chemo is so difficult to predict how it will affect you. I just started chemo three days ago for Non-hodgkin's lymphoma and I had a terrible reaction while being infused with Rituximab. And yet other patients have no reaction at all to it. You're right ... everyone's journey is different both physically and mentally. I think you are doing very well and you are truly a source of strength for other individuals fighting cancer.

@@foxysil52 I’m in my 60’s and had my gallbladder removed exactly one year ago today because of gallstones- passing gallstones was extremely painful but the surgery was a piece of cake! It was minimally invasive and I was discharged one day later. You should be fine- do not be petrified ❣️

A couple of weeks later, in March (2022), I was given a new cancer diagnosis: chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL/SLL). Both times I’ve been considered young for the diagnosis I received. I say this so people are aware Dx can happen at any age. Trust yourself to know your body, and be your own best advocate! The real reason I’m reaching out is because my daughter Stephanie has chrones as well diagnosed at age 12 and is now in her late twenties she does not have cancer but worries often when she is not well. Hi Suzanne, I’m sorry to hear that. Crohn’s is very difficult and impacts daily life. Not everyone with IBD will experience colon cancer of course but having awareness and colonoscopies regular helped me catch mine early. Thanks for following my journey ❤️❤️🥰

My story: I had very active ulcerative colitis from aged 23 until I had my first child. I had many miscarriages due to being so unwell with UC so it was quite a journey to have my children. The UC became less problematic after each child.it did affect my career however - I was a midwife and couldn’t do the shifts, having to run to the loo doesn’t work when you are literally in the middle of delivering a baby! So I did further training and became a health visitor, which is mon-fri office hours.
I started to have what we’re determined to be large polyps showing up during my yearly colonoscopies after about 8 yrs with the disease. When I was 47 I had a very junior Dr doing my scope and he felt he couldn’t remove the polys like I usually experienced as he was too inexperienced and couldn’t find a senior surgeon to supervise him. The following year I started to get abdominal pain like something was stuck. Our NHS can be slow, and my Gastro Dr wouldn’t bring my yearly scope forward, so I had to put up with the pain for 6 months. At 5hat time I was horrified when they advanced the camera towards the small intestine as I could see what looked like a huge ugly irregular looking mass right where the small intestine joins the large- clearly the cause of the pain. The surgeon immediately said it looked cancerous and that I would have to have surgery.
Subsequently I was told due to my age and the long progression of disease I would need a total colectomy- but they offered me J pouch surgery, which would mean only a temporary stoma. It was a much longer surgery at 9 hrs plus and longer recovery , but they could do it keyhole . I was told if I opted for it, there was a 30% chance I wouldn’t be suitable when they opened me up ( due to possible other cancer, length of small intestine etc.)
I opted for the J pouch but then things went badly wrong- there was a lot of administrative error and I ended up waiting over 8 months for my surgery 😢. By that time the status changed- it had been completely inside my colon., but when they did the surgery the growth had actually gone through the colon wall, so initially I was very worried about spread. Like you, they did a total clearance of lymph nodes and I was extremely lucky that no cancer was found in any of them.
There was another administrative error on not referring me to an oncologist, and I was unwell the 6 weeks after the surgery that I didn’t ask what was going on. By the time I saw him, the window of commencing chemo had virtually closed, and he advised for my stage of cancer to commence at that time would give me virtually no benefit compared to any possible advantage. He did also state however that at the stage my cancer was and it having been removed with lymph node clearance, he would probably have advised not to have chemo in any case.
To cut a very long story short, I had the j pouch formed and activated so I only had the stoma for 4 months. I do struggle with it a bit - like you, I love veg and salad but my pouch can’t cope with it - I also have a structure where the pouch joins the back passage with complicates things. I’ve had it for almost 12yrs now however and have been lucky that I haven’t experience a lot of ‘pouchitis’ like many others I know . I didn’t believe they recommend J louch surgery if you have Chrohns? My main problem atm is a lot of weight gain as I can’t fill up on veg like I used to and eat more carbs.
I subsequently had a diagnosis of unrelated cervical cancer just after the 5 year ‘cancer clear’ mark which was devastating . I again had a lymph node clearance and this time wasn’t so lucky- cancer was found in one lymph node, so I had to have radiation and chemo, Due to my J pouch treatment was much more complicated ( they were worried my J pouch would get destroyed) and I actually reached a toxicity problem at my 18th treatment- it was then stopped before I had what they considered a therapeutic dose 😢
This year May will be 7 years since my Cervical cancer treatment however, and 12 years since my colon cancer. I have two adult disabled children living with me so I’m very much on the go. I think I will probably have my J pouch removed in a couple of years, but ideally I need to lose about 3 stone before the surgery so that the stoma can be sited well! That is a battle- I don’t cope well with being hungry, and can’t fill up with veg like I used to. The radiation therapy has also damaged my left hip and I can’t be as active as I used to be, which has contributed towards my weight gain.
I am praying that you will continue to recover well and go on to a very productive life.

I hear you about the veggies, I try get as much as I can in but sometimes really have to blend it up and over cook it so it’s easy to digest.

One may go private to hurry up waiting time and facilitate Surgery and other procedures
People,who are able to afford,prefer this option as they are anxious to get started on treatment as my Mother did with her Colon Cancer Surgery

That's only if you haven't been medically gaslit, alot of people just end up dying here in the UK because they aren't believed and the doctors will literally make out they are over reacting. Unless you've gone through it it's normal not to be aware of it though, unfortunately the media doesn't pick up on it alot
Thank god I don’t have cancer but I did need a bag and for me it was a no brainer I would rather choose life any any any day was not interested in what people taught life is so important I have my sight I have all my movements I just had to adjust the way i did things I was the same person as before just did things differently keep strong

Sending you love! They detected the larger one that was stage 3 but not the smaller one that was stage one. They said due to not having much abdominal fat it can be hard sometimes to see because there isn’t the contrast and identify small tumours. I’m just glad it’s all out.

Not all bloating means the worst, it was just very abnormal for me so was worth further screening. However it never hurts to get a referral and talk to your gastroenterologist. ❤️
It breaks my heart that you and so many other young men & women are now forced to deal with this horrible cancer which was believed to be a predominantly older person’s disease! I know how difficult your journey is, because I lost my devoted father to colon cancer in 1995, nine months after he was diagnosed. He was only 66. He’d been feeling “off” for months & had gone to his doctor twice due to flulike symptoms that never went away, and he was told he was having a severe reaction to the flu shot. It wasn’t until he began noticed blood that his doctor ordered an ultra-sound and he found the tumor. By the time they operated, it had spread to his lymph nodes and had spots on his liver. BUT because he was in such great health his oncologist was positive he’d be able to handle the chemo & radiation necessary to cure him. (Back then they didn’t have all the treatments they have now that help keep your blood counts up, etc.) Tragically, he didn’t seem to recover from the surgery and complained of constant pain in the area of his incision. His surgeon (who had bragged to us about how quickly he “got in and got out” when asked how long my dad’s surgery would take) insisted the pain was “probably caused by adhesions” and basically blew him off. Ultimately he also developed a high fever, so we rushed him to the ER. An ultra-sound revealed a mass the size of a baseball just a few inches below where his tumor had been. He had emergency surgery and found out the mass was, in fact, a piece of surgical tape which had been left by the surgeon during his previous surgery. The tape became infected and developed into a septic mass that had weakened my dad’s system so severely that it took him 8 more weeks to recover enough to finally start chemo. By the time chemo finally began, the cancer had spread all across his liver, and after his 2nd treatment, his blood counts were too low to tolerate anymore. He was told to “take a nice trip and enjoy what was left of his life. There is no doubt in my mind that the surgeon signed my dad’s death certificate when he carelessly left that piece of tape inside my dad! Hun, colon cancer treatment has changed so much since my dad fought it, that I have confidence you’ll win your battle! Until then, you are in my heart and in my prayers! 💞
I'm so sorry your father experienced such a miscarriage of treatment by those we entrust with our life. Humans are not miracle workers and unfortunately mistakes do happen but, a big but, his surgeon didn't just accidentally make a mistake, he was egotistically narcissistic and grandiose when ignoring the obvious symptoms of a post surgical complication. Here in America medical malpractice is the 3rd leading cause of death only behind heart disease and cancer accounting for 9.5% of all deaths annually. That's astronomically terrifying numbers considering the advances we've made as a society!
I eat in a similar way. Everyone calls me vegan but I’m quick to say it’s the majority of what I eat but if I feel like chicken or fish, I will not have an issue with that. Sometimes it’s hard to lose weight without animal protein so I have started to incorporate some animal protein in my diet but will mix that with plant-based protein and go back to a majority of plants once I lose the weight

I've had a chronic illness for over 30 years, requiring regular scans, lab tests and follow-up appointments with specialists.I was also diagnosed with cancer in early January of 2020. In all those years, I've never once had to book my own scans or lab tests nor have I needed to remind my doctor that I was due for one. I always recieve a letter a month or two ahead of time for routine tests and appointments and almost always recieve a reminder call a day or two prior to the appointments.
I'm also Canadian. I've only lived in two provinces and perhaps things are done differently in other ones. I do wonder though, if perhaps your doctor dropped the ball and chose to blame it on you rather than accept responsibility.
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Glad you received great medical support. Yeah I mean I don’t know the system well here but the blame game doesn’t change my situation so I will just continue to be on top of things and advocate for myself and my health.
@@laura-jeanbainbridge543 self advocacy is a must, no matter where you live. I must say though, having previously experienced decades of care from the medical system for my very rare condition, I was utterly shocked to experience the well oiled machine that is breast cancer treatment here. I have always needed to educate new doctors on my rare condition and it's maddening at times.
I'm cancer free at the moment and there's a good chance it will stay that way. Hopefully you will soon be able to say the same.
@@mustwereallydothis I think it’s important for us to push back when we feel we aren’t being heard. My surgeon, my oncologist and gastroenterologist are all well educated and a wealth of information but they themselves have never had the chronic illness or cancer. They don’t know what it feels like, so I totally agree.

If the cancer is an Otto Warburg type (70% of the cases), pectin can greatly help and so does Fenbendazole/Flubendazole. Both are not magic bullets and help with ketogenic diet. Fenbendazole helps in cases of unstable DNA where markers are lost and conventional therapy is not suitable. Pectin lozenges are easy to buy in almost every pharmacy.
I was just about to mention the keto diet. Many great studies out there for colon cancer correction and blockage prevention. Fiber for some can be a big problem.
@@michaelwatts1186Fiber is a problem for ones with tendency to develop kidney stones because they are rich in oxalates. Keto-diet is mainly effective for Warburg effect tumors which do not breathe oxygen but instead use a more primitive energy production by fermenting glucose and glutamine. It is more difficult to stop the glutamine because it is produced primarily in the lungs as is used by the immune system. It can be blocked by berberine but then the patient must avoid infections, which is a very difficult task. Fenbendazole works best with ketogenic diet in cases where the DNA of the tumor cells is sufficiently damaged. When such a damage is present, these cells usually lose markers that are used by conventional chemo. In this case Fenbendazole, which is an anti-parasitic drug, starts being efficient in suppressing tumor proliferation. Fenbendazole is not a magic bullet. It best works with chemo. In every treatment, some of the metastatic cells become unstable. This is why Fenbendazole as a supplement to ordinary chemo is so important. Sugar free pectin (e.g. Luden's sugar free lozenges) is not as efficient as Fenbendazole for unstable DNA but it still inhibits metastasis. The problem is that pectin competes with sugar. In a ketogenic diet, simple carbs are replaced by healthy oils such as olive oil but also by unhealthy saturated fats such as yellow cheese.
