Excellent presentation! Two things I wish I knew before I became a flight attendant include: How important it was, to work for an airline where I can become a "line holder" the quickest. I learned how important it was, to get off reserve. During my career, that was one of the questions I asked during the interviewing process. Also, I understand what you mentioned about being "lonely", especially during overnights. I found this to be true, to some extent, when I worked for a larger airline. Eventually, I worked with regional airlines, where I was often the sole flight attendant on board. So, our flight crew consisted of two pilots and myself. Often, we would have lunch or dinner during overnights. Or, if there was a baseball or hockey game in town, we would attend a game. I made many long time, lifetime friends with the pilots I used to fly with. So, if you like a smaller flight crew, and prefer working as the sole flight attendant (or maybe working with just one other flight attendant), I would recommend applying with regional airlines.
The loneliness part is very real. It is strange because by nature I am a loner but felt the loneliness in this job more than anything else. As far as having friendship with other FA's, I felt most of them are fake and 2 faced.
Thanks for this immensely candid and informative video. I will start training with Delta early next year and I did tons of research on the aviation industry to prepare myself. You did an excellent jobs of providing practical tips and advice. I appreciate you and I'm sure you will excel in your future endeavors. P.S. I love the tip about opera singers too.
I’m a retired FA. I’ve been really missing the job wondering if I did the right thing. Then I saw your video. The things I saw to both junior and senior FAs. I’m not missing the job so much anymore. I still keep in touch with friends, but I sure don’t miss management. I’ve had enough after 35 years.
I'm a recent graduate who also majored in music (piano!) but has aspirations of becoming a pilot! I'm really trying to get into the industry by getting a language of destination position as a Japanese speaker, so I'm so glad to have discovered your channel! We also have the same kind of warm, but reserved demeanor so it's really relieving to see that people like us can make it into a competitive airline like Delta!
Hey there! That’s awesome and I’m so happy my videos have helped you! Is there anything you’d like to see more of? I’m wishing you the very best of luck getting a LoD position! :)
@@CassandraRi Thank you so much! Actually, I was curious if you could make a video sometime about your transition from leaving Delta to beginning flight training? I recall you saying your father is a pilot but I would love to learn how you've gotten to where you are now. Also, if you're comfortable sharing what your background/work experience was when applying to Delta? Would be very interested to watch something about that!
I tried being a flight attendant once and it didn't work for me. During training, before an exam , it was so laud and the trainer said something I missed and it caused me to fail the exam. I took the exam again and made a 💯 but still ended going back home. I payed for all my expenses except the flight. I didn't try again because I found a costumer service job. But I wish that it had work for me. Now I'm a lot older, but I like the industry and to get it out of my system I just applied for ticket/gate agent. I hope that it works for me this time. Oh by the way I remember wearing hills all day during training and I took them off and got in the pool at the hotel and got a terrible leg cramp. My leg hurted for days after it happened. 😂 it was not my time. Love your videos Cassandra!!!
I’m sorry but no one looking to work as a F/A for a global carrier should need training and explanation on how to catch a hotel shuttle, check-in to a hotel, navigate an airport terminal, understanding co-terminals at their base city, etc. If someone has difficulty navigating any of the above they should seriously consider their chosen profession. DL usually is very good at screening but even a well oiled machine sometimes lets some slip through the cracks
Can you PLEASE Give the brand of the comfy shoes with wedge ??

So glad you enjoyed it! Reserve can be rough for sure. That’s really awesome insight into what to expect, thanks so much for sharing it! :)
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us!!! I find it very helpful 😃 I can listen to you talk all day ‼️
Any time! So happy to help :)

I'm sorry you experienced that :(. The lifestyle doesn't make it any easier but I hope you're okay now and have some good people in your life :)

Hi there! Congratulations and so glad it helped you :) wishing you the best of luck in your career!
i have my first interview(virtual) next week and i’m sooo glad i found your videos! they were extremely helpful!
How did it go??

@@verslaflamme666 Sure thing! I'll make a video of that for you :)
Your voice is like water 🌸
Awe thanks! I’m glad you like it ☺️❤️
Oh a new video from my fav Capt'n, this was nice. Again lovely and calming soothing voice.
Thanks so much! Always a pleasure seeing your comments :) I’m glad you enjoyed it!
@@CassandraRi
Oh wow I never knew you noted my comments specifically.
Thanks captain Cassandra. Means a ton to me.
Thanks so much for sharing!
of course! Thanks so much for watching! :)
I love your videos. You’re amazing! Would be nice to hear more about training. Thank you!
So glad to hear you're enjoying them! I'll definitely make a video on training :)
Very nice, thank you. One question: do they give you books to study or is everything is on the iPhone now ? Thank you.
Hi there! They gave us books to study as well as online modules to work with :)
@@CassandraRi Thank you. By the way, it is hard to hear your video even at full volume as you speak very softly.
Can you speak on how to pick your base or a base you wish you wouldve gotten? Any Junior vs. Senior bases or bases that fly more international?
Very interesting about the suicides and loneliness. No one should ever let their job become their whole life.
For sure, it's really sad :( can be tricky getting that work-life balance!
i saw your video about them letting you go and that really seemed unfair but i hope youre doing good
thanks so much! Yes things are much better now - I'm a pilot now so on the right track; I appreciate it! :)
@@CassandraRi nice that’s really good, you have plans to fly for a regional ? I may be biased but i highly recommend endeavor 😌
@@godlevelkalebmost likely! Oh cool why are you keen on Endeavor, if you don't mind me asking?
@@CassandraRi cause i may or may not work for them 😂
@@godlevelkaleb 😂😂 in that case I'll definitely look out for Endeavor when my hours get up there!
You should redo this video your volume is very low could not hear your speaking.
Which pantyhose did you find were the best for the job? Comfort?
what was your starting hourly pay?
You are very articulate
thank you :)
Sorry the flight attendant thingy didn’t work out for you. They should not of taken such a hardline approach to you. Totally rude of them.
@@stanmercer5831 it's okay! It was a great learning experience and worked out for the best - I appreciate the support, though :)

U give delta too much credit. It’s actually a very average airline
