- Three Part Series on Segmented Turning
Doug Busey is a member of our Golden Triangle Woodturners club and walks us through how creates the segments and builds a feature ring to incorporate in to his segmented bowls
In the other two arts of this series...
Mike walks through how he cuts the segments and glues them up into rings
Mike Zunkoswki shows us how he lays out the design of the rings of a segmented bowl and determines the dimensions for each segment of the rings.
This was recorded at the monthly meeting of the Golden Triangle Woodturners club in Denton Texas. We meet the first Monday of each month in The Center for the Visual Arts located at the corner of Hickory and Belle Streets in Denton, Texas. meetings start at 7 PM and all are welcome to attend.

Doug, just stumbled upon your presentation- nice job. And thanks for the shout-out on my book. Great to see others spreading the word. 👍👍
Well worth watching, thank you
Very interesting clip, would have been more helpful to me as an end user if (1) dimensions were given on all strips of wood used and (2) we were able to hear the questions from the audience. Thanks.
For what use is the project shown? Looks like an alien saucer? LOL. You use a chuck for tail and head stock?
It would be nice to hear what the questions were.
what is the degrees that you cut the pieces at?
What was the book he talked about by Malcom something I couldn’t catch the name
Tibbetts
looks like they are cut on a 45 degree??
It would help if we could hear the questions from the audience or if they would be repeated before being answered.
i guess I'm kind of off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online?
@Camilo Matthias I watch on Flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
