Nice flight report! My only experience on the BA First Class if flying in the First Cabin on the Boeing 777 from London to Madrid, though that was a free gate upgrade! Thanks for sharing a look into the Arrivals Lounge, always wondered what it was like!
Oh wow, that was lucky! How did you find it? We had it once on the 787 from Amsterdam to London then they decided it wasn't busy enough and moved us to Business Class 😂 The arrivals lounge is particularly useful if you want to book a specifically timed train or bus. Always nice to grab a shower before or after any flight 🚿
That was an interesting comment about the First v Business Lounge in Seattle. Some years ago we flew first from San Francisco to Heathrow, and the FC lounge was pretty awful, compared to business. It was smaller, in dire need of a coat of paint, frankly tatty, and very short on refreshments. We may be doing the trip again next year and fervently hope it's either had a makeover or been completely revamped.
I suspect it won't get a refresh anytime soon. At least until London Heathrow does. It certainly does have a lot of seats which are needed as American doesn't have a lounge there. I would go to Alaskas instead if you can afford the time as its in a very different terminal section.
Just found your site mate. one of most refreshing travel review channels out there. Ex Brit now living west coast obsessed with aviation. Delta is my airline of choice due to hub and spoke system here. But love the odd time I fly BA
Thank you Benny 👍 really appreciate it 😊 Glad to hear you like Delta. We tried them on the A350-900 at the beginning of the year and we were so impressed! Even the lounge was wonderful. Got to love the viewing area at Salt Lake City ✈️
boarding is consistently disorganized with them. when i recently flew the a380 bos-lhr and lhr-sfo, both in first class, the ground staff looked completely unprepared.
I don’t think the first class is worth it if I’m honest unless upgraded the USA lounges are rubbish apart from American Flagship lounge. I’ve flown both and would not to the extra to be honest
All good points we have been to about the same amount of USA lounges as we have fingers and there aren't many to write home about. Particularly in the non refitted planes you do get more real estate but as things modernise it gets harder to see why to pick one over the other.
Thanks for watching 👍 yes now I think about it that is a bit odd 🤔. It's one of those seats I've been there, done it got the t-shirt wouldn't necessarily seek it out. Got to love those blue windows though 💙
Interestingly I watch a video on Instagram by Jeenie weenie about cleanliness on a plane and the seats were either no. 1 or 2. You can imagine what occasionally happens to seats besides people sleeping, sweating etc and there isn't a wait to deep clean them apparently. So it's not really a surprise. Same goes for buses and trains I would imagine 😲
It’s funny how people get excited about paying thousands to sit in a seat just to not be contained like a sardine 😂. On the ground that’s literally…a seat. But because it’s in the air people are like wow yes I’ll pay thousands for that 😂
There's a saying it doesn't matter which cabin you fly in because they all arrive the same time ⌚ but having flown economy for over 13hrs I was unable to find a good position to sleep 😴 didn't have that issue in Business Class ✈️
@@liftoffandtravel Yeah it’s not pleasant. It’s just crazy we’ve been conditioned to think room to exist and some food/drink is worth paying thousands for.
@@nibblebytes it's interesting there is a whole psychology behind it. Naturally everyone wants to be on First Class. Infact airlines often offer an upgrade months later because we've often forgotten how much we paid originally.
@@liftoffandtravelBusiness is getting so good now there’s not much benefit to first most of the time. I’m not really sure what the difference is between the new BA club suite and BA First.
It depends on the value you place on your hard work. Of course, if you live life with a mentality of 'saving money' you then apply that to everything you do. So your mentality ends up that way. If you have the opposite view of 'you work hard and only have one life....' then it's about maximising these opportunities. The pandemic only showed us, live is actually really short and can be curtailed, easily, at any time. So, enjoy it. No point storing money endlessly in a bank account and then finding you cannot spend or enjoy it. As for travelling in business and first, it's about the experience from the lounge (ok, granted, not at Seattle), the food and drink, the bigger screen, the lie-flat bed and service. But, like I said, it depends on how much you value this.
I don't have a review for Ryanair so not sure why you asked why we like them? This is just one of many reviews. We did fly Emirates First and you say we don't fly decent airlines? Who is the 🤔
Flew first class on their 787 dreamliner in 2016, horrible airline. Cabin crew with Ryanair give better service than BA first class. No priority boarding, cabin crew could not be bothered and when I complained I only received a call from a condescending woman who closed the case. Crap airline
We've flown with them on quite a few flights and it can be hit and miss. Then again even some other 5 star airlines can be the same. So true Ryanairs cabin crew are excellent. Witnessed someone pass out from not being a good flyer and the cabin crew reacted in such a heart warming way.
Why do you make yourself bothered over not getting priority boarding and flight attendants not pampering you? Did it cause you some kind of physical pain, I'm just trying to understand I guess.
@@prodigion1 I try not to take all my footage when others are in the plane to respect their privacy so boarding as early as possible helps. I don't remember ever saying anything about pampering 🤔
They will not refund a downgrade if you get cancelled! I lost $10,000 on 4 tix and spent 11 months trying to get a refund. Save you money and use another carrier!!!
Interesting 🤔 Im assuming you past through the UK and tried UK261? If you were downgraded you are owed. I'm not an expert on the matter but did you try the official channels to put in a complaint. Could be wrong but I think it is called MCAS
Was that through a booking agent or direct as i've had upgrades fully refunded after a cancelled flight. I am a gold member so it does benefit them to do so.
I’m flying tomorrow, they just txt me saying they’d downgraded me from first to business. I called them and went bizerk as they were still selling first class tickets on my flight on their website. They offered me a full refund but when I refused (I had to get home) they “magically” were able to put me back on my original flight in first class again. BA are honestly the worst airline of all
lovely as always! thank you
Thanks Coy 👍 was an absoulute joy. Just a shame about the boarding process. Otherwise a fantastic flight, good food and a very comfortable seat 💺✈️

Which movie was that with Jennifer Aniston?
It was an advert for Emirates a few years back
‘It will do’ ….
God, that lounge was grim
Yes, it's pleasant at best. Really in need of a refurbishment. I tend to walk round the terminal having had a little food. 🍲
Watched this in 4k and the seat looked dirty.
